**A Whisk(e)y school?
Yup. Here are a few things we believe.
** You don’t have to be a snob to appreciate and love great whiskey.
Whisky and Whiskey (it depends on where it’s from) have been an important part of cultures around the world from time immemorial. Whiskey is a part of the very fabric of Western society, and in most places, is as common and accessible as beer.
Like Jazz and wine, snobs have predictably hijacked whiskey appreciation, spoiling our natural, common connection with it and creating a false dichotomy of “good whiskey” and “bad whiskey.”
It’s time to break through the emotional bias with facts and science. That’s what this school is about.
** The only valid definition of “good” whiskey is “whiskey you like to drink.”
Learning how to share your love of whiskey in a way that connects people to the history and the story has more to do with public speaking and storytelling than it does with facts and tests.
The best way to learn about whiskey and share that love is to drink whiskey and talk about it with friends. Study the history, find the stories, and discover the culture and the methods that have been developed over hundreds of years. That’s what you’ll do when you attend The Whisk(e)y Marketing School.
** You don’t need a marketing degree to learn how to share your love of whiskey with the world.

I may never have the opportunity to go to the school but I can get some information (& entertainment) here, & it's great and you guys deserve compensation for that.

Just binged like 25 episodes in a row after having the channel recommended by a fellow whiskey enthusiast. I am a Glennfiddich 12 man myself and fancy a good irish whiskey from time to time. I have not been big into bourbons but have been trying to expand into them a little more. Do you know of any bourbons that give off less of the corn taste and share more characteristics with single malt scotches? Really enjoy you guys and keep on keeping on!

A newer whiskey drinker, love myself some greenspot, but i decided to take a leap and get a glass of the Laddie, and damn that is a great whiskey. Didnt kick my ass nearly as much as i thought, but i love the butterscotch i get and the salt. Great stuff. Since there is no peat smoke in this, whats a next logical step in islays?

No unfortunately 😬. I’m going to do some research on it. I do know of a few true whiskey drinkers! In Utah you know it’s about shots🤭. I work at a liquor store so I will keep researching it.

I'm not quite ready for the heavy islays yet but i am starting my own whiskey collection; I would like to have a couple bottles from several catagories. So my question is what are your must have bottles for any collection?

A few that I know aren't really your style, but at least one 6 y.o. Single Malt that I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate.
Starting drinking whiskey because of this channel. Although I'm only 19 I've managed to get my father to buy me several bottles and I've tried monkey shoulder ( didn't like it much), angels envy and Elijah Craig ( liked them both) but fell in love with Johnny Walker black. The buttery/savory notes were incredible. Any recommendations from the vault?

Had some at a bar here in Waco, TX on the night of my 21st birthday a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it (after the bartender had me do an Irish car bomb and a vegas car bomb with him... oops!) I guess this has been asked before but shouldn't you keep your whisky away from sunlight? ...or is it all about the timescale and your bottles won't last long enough to get hurt?
We have heavy duty curtains that we pull closed over the windows after every shoot, and the overhead lights are non-heat emitting bulbs. We only have them open during the shoot to handle the lighting for the videos.

We typically drink throughout the rest of the day or share it with other people.

I think this is the first legitimate question about whisky in a while. Why do distilleries use aging in barrels over "oaking"? Is one better than the other? And if you guys ever wanna get on Twitter I wouldn't mind taking a shot at managing it.....at a cost. (A whisky cost mwahaha)

About monetization. Do you guys get TH-cam Red money on this channel at least? Because don't tempt me. I'll go watch every video again so you guys get my extra pennies! Well that and because I kind of miss the Waldo shirt.
Also that part about the growth of the channel, that was the advice I remember getting often. Leaving ads off until a channel could theoretically earn enough income to be significant (whatever that means to each person... maybe enough to replace their day job. Heck maybe enough for a few pizzas per year. Maybe enough to replace their computer hardware). Of course I didn't have the patience or practice to keep at it. But I generally heard that somewhere around 100k subs was a good goal for quitting a day job. There are more than 1 of you guys working (Daniel, Rex, Chad and not sure who else helps with the daily videos). And this was a few years ago. Before advertising dollars increased and then got destroyed by Adpocalypse.
I guess it is cool to hear you guys have put thought in to it. 78k with potential earnings of 2-3k/month I'd certainly be running ads on a personal channel. But I can understand who not for the school. If nothing else... just think Rex. You could buy an extra 5-6 bottles of Macallan M per year! Or 35-40 bottles of Redbreast 12 Cask Strength per month.

Fuckin' eh! Every time Glen Nora tries to "improve" upon, or deviate from the standard Glen Breton 10 y/o, it's never quite as good. I got a bottle of their 12 y/o Alister Mackenzie from the distillery gift shop and, while it was great, the 10 still has it beat in my opinion.
