Where can you get the gasket that goes between the top part and where you put the calcium carbide? My grandpa has his dads and I’m trying to get it to work for him and that seals all dry rotted out

I did a google search ("rubber seal for carbide light") and found some on ebay and some other sources. I did not have to find one. If you need me to measure the ID and OD of my seal I can do that. Just let me know. Thanks

I am not sure where to find parts without just buying an old lamp for parts. I inherited this one and it had all the parts. But someone else may read this and be able to help. If I still lived near my coal mining relatives I could probably find old lamps in antique shops around. Sorry I can't help.

@semiwetchicken6039 Did you find the part? Are you trying for 100% authenticity because the part isn’t much more than a perforated brass washer.

What machine is running in the background.just curious. Goes from lawnmower to drill press to my ears. I don't mind in fact I prefer it over the canned music so many "youtubers" jam down everyone's throats\ears.

My wife loves to mow on her riding mower so part of the noise was her going around outside. That other sound was a tumbler. I had a bunch of old empty brass bullet casings from decades ago and I used my old tumbler to polish them up. I just cleaned them and put them in plastic zip lock bags for now. I usually turn off things making noise when I am doing a video but those tumblers take so long I just let it run.
