at 4:15, those doors open if you shoot through the cage with gibs in it with a hitscan weapon. IIRC, there are switches in there that grant access to an invulnerability and a megasphere.
like how doom 64 put 2 cyberdemons instead of just one, means they realized one wasn't hard enough (even tho i would been fine with just one in this case) now if only quake 2 could done it with there bosses (hell the reckoning also realizes one super tank wasn't enough, and even normal quake 2 does this kinda by giving markon 2 phases instead of just one att the end of the game)
