My friend is usually laughing at me when I'm drawing facial expressions. That's because I always make face similar to a character I'm drawing. So when in class I look like I'm about to cry, she is sometimes worry because she thinks something might have happened. But she just looks that I'm doodling and she's like ,,ah ok she's just drawing again"

But guys I make sounds when I am drawing. Like I am drawing a cat in class and i am meowing, sometimes without even realising it
Also to note, if a character is crying some people scrunch up their shoulders or try to look as small as possible. If you get the face down definitely work on body language or learn how to read it.
Depends how/ why they’re crying. But I do that scrunching thing so yeah haha.

The don't side looks likes those anime moments when they think they finally won at sonething, but then it turns out to be a mistake.

Another tip for anger: when you’re drawing the eyebrows, to fully express the focus and the rage in how a character’s feeling, try to keep the eyebrows as close and low to the eyes as you can. The higher the eyebrows on the forehead, the more surprised or confused they appear.

Good idea! Many beginners often over-accentuate the hourglass body type with women, and make men's shoulders/muscles to large/wide.

Whenever I draw facial expressions, I find myself *doing* the expressions, so I can get a feel of what the face is doing, and where features are placed. (I do it when I drawing in class sometimes, and I get some weird looks lol)
I do the same, I reccomend a face mask or just hiding your mouth in general will make it look more "normal"
One good thing to remember in drawing emotions, is that we rarely feel just ONE emotion. It could be anger with a touch of disgust, or sadness with a touch of embarrassment.

Idk but for me the corners of my mouth usually would still droop down a little and if I were to lift it to make the mouth look straight it would've been pretty tiring to do

I'm not sure what video you guys are talking about buttttt there is the character design one where she goes over clothing and how to make it look nice. But meh. Even so, it would definitely be chill to get a new vid based solely on hair and clothing styles.
Yes, especially since I've seen so much art where even if the anatomy is OK, the artist put the characters in "clothes" that were just a random mess made of belts, or garish color combinations and so forth. Plus with fantasy settings, I've seen many artists fail to take the culture and technology of the setting into consideration, and we get things like characters with steampunk goggles on top of medieval armor and so on, there's plenty of material for a video on that subject.
That would be super extremely helpful im making an animated series and am having a lot of trouble with the characters' clothes

With some of these, it ok to do the "dont''s" when practicing I do them alot when im drawing random sketches and doodles. Also, depending on style, the "do's" are the "dont's"

Oh! One thing I think you might've missed! To make the emotion even more intense and understandable, try changing the cheek and chin shape/placement.
When the corners of the mouth are turned up, the cheeks tend to stick out a little more and the chin is shorter.
When the corners of the mouth are turned down, the cheeks stick out less and the chin is longer.
This tip is also very important to know when doing lip syncing animations! Not only does it make the letters/syllables clearer, but it can also make the words flow better and show a deeper emotion ^^

One of the things I hate when people draw cartoon people in profile is when the nose and mouth sticks out too much, making the characters look like chihuahuas. I've seen it a lot in bad anime, but Anna and Elsa in Frozen also suffers from it.

Something I noticed is that it seems to help when drawing expressions if you're specific about what emotion you're trying to portray. For example, for anger, the "do" drawing looks specifically offended or disgusted, like someone just said something shocking and horrible. And that's different from how one would draw spite, hatred, wrath, exasperation, indignation, etc. And each of those words makes me imagine a specific expression that carries so much more power than if I just try to picture an "angry" face.
You could do an 'draw this not that' for eyes, comic composition, or facial features
