He’s a very talented carpenter, no doubt about it.
Juston deserves a lot of credit for calculating the step height and platform locations in order to account for the yet to be installed wood flooring and the oak treads to be installed on the stairs. The key to installing stairs is that the rise on every step is exactly the same to prevent people from tripping.
It'd be interesting with a YT channel with Justin and Roman.

Justin is a stair building wizard. His skills are impressive. Roman is such an energetic worker. He would be hard to keep up with if I had to work beside him. The house is coming together.

TH-cam recommended your channel because I had been watching old home restoration videos. You were only in the “decluttering” stage 😂 but I stuck around and I feel like I’ve been with you the whole time cheering you on. I know it’s going to look amazing when you’re done.
I’m a little ocd when it comes to cleaning so I loved watching Cole clean up!!! Can’t wait to see you guys all moved in and settled! Question…how many bedrooms will there be?

Where those “secret stairs” are in the main bedroom. Consider a murphy type door with shelves so the space can be useful for storage and some soundproofing. In fact may want to double insulate the main bedroom for when your kids are teenagers. You’ll thank me when you’re older haha
I saw a suggestion for an elevator. I concur.
If not installing now, make provision for one later by building the space for it. This way, you can do it later😊

My sister had one in the 90's that smelled like a brand new car tire when you lit it. Candles that are weird are my jam 😂

You guys crack me up with your “games”. Cole you are paying for all of that wood. You have 2 boys. You could make them building blocks with the scrap pieces of wood. I remember building all kinds of stuff with building blocks there were DIY from my Dad. You could even paint them in different colors & shapes. So they become educational as well as fun. Save yourselves the money now. At that young age they are just as happy to play with boxes. Little Eddie will enjoy stacking & knocking over stuff. Just an idea for all the scraps you have. Wood isn’t cheap. Looking good guys!

Nahhhh- they are "just farmers", some of the most broadly gifted and determined people you will ever meet. Any "farmer's day" is taking care of whatever is on fire at that moment- from seeding to reaping, from mere repair to rebuilding, they tend to do it all and usually only contract our after they prove it is outside their wheelhouse. Something the Cornstars look to be well able to do.
After watching The Weather Channel, I'm hoping you guys were not in the path of any of the bad storms. 🙏

I recommend frame and open up under your secret stairs for additional storage or build in pull out drawers accessed from your built in closet.

Just to say I've been watching your videos for years. I wanted to see chaos of the surrounding areas changed. To see what it is now. Now again with the house, all that labor and watching it come around from wanting to preserve a family legacy. Also I wanted to say that I watched a video recently were a wife gave her husband a gift of a new type of glasses for color blindness. Watching him seeing color for the first time in his life was all inspiring. Maybe Justin might look into that. Best of luck with the house

Home transformations are incredible to watch! While I have watched others struggle with building stairs, you guys make it look effortless. Another observation, you guys work well together. Your brains seem to be in sync and you all have a sense of humor, the latter of which is proven, as you have managed to not kill each other....

Save all those small pieces of wood. You can paint them various non toxic colors and have wonderful building blocks for the children of the house.
I'm thinking the same thing. Round off all edges and corners, sand them smooth, paint them bright colors, and then put a clear coat on them. The boys will have years of creative building fun with them.
Save some for birdhouses .make each family member a birdhouse out of pieces of the grandfather's house planks 😊❤you will not regret it !

Very nice. You three get a lot done in a day. One suggestion: check for potential problems getting larger items (beds, dressers, etc) up the stairs. You may need to make railings removable and not have half walls between the stairs. I lived in a 2nd floor apartment added to an old house with a 90 degree entry and exit to the stairs. It was very, very difficult moving in and out.

I do hold my breathe when you guys walk across those open floor joists!! My husband is color blind, not easy! I did get him some of those special glasses for outside-first time he saw a rainbow in color.... and he described it, saying he NEVER knew it was colorful like that, I about cried!!! The space between the secret staircase and the last landing to the attic. The space you said you don't know what to use it for, looks like a perfect space for a closet. The house is looking awsome

Suggestion: save a few short pieces of the cut new wood and make blocks for the children! Just sand the surfaces and bag them up or put into a box for the future.

Hey Cole! Make that new platform area above the hvac ducting into a closet. Leaving the area open would most likely never be used and would look awkward. A Closet would look very normal. Would be a great place for games, blankets, etc.
