Red, White, and Royal Blue did the rom-com right and definitely deserved higher praise. The Proposal was my favorite film the year it came out, so I would have put it higher as well.
Thank you so much for puttin Alex & Henry, they brought romcoms back, not anyone but you, can't wait for the sequel and hopefully will see the wedding on this one ❤❤❤❤❤
I love that they had Harry and Sally end up together. Originally, they were supposed to go their separate ways, but Nora Ephron and Rob Reiner thought that Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan had amazing chemistry, and deserved a happy ending.
My favorite haters to lovers are cliche moment is when they’re passionately arguing together and then they stare at each other for a few seconds and then they start kissing 😂
Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey had such sizzling onscreen chemistry, that you'd be surprised to learn that they didn't get on behind the scenes. They seemed to have patched things up later on, since Grey appeared deeply saddened by Swayze's passing in 2009.
The aspect I adore about this genre trope is how realistic it is. Haters to lovers is an overused trope, but it conveys deep feelings despite the bickering and real chemistry. While most movies rely on hormones and quickly rush the relationship, haters to lovers films take a somewhat slow approach, suggesting that getting to know a person is more satisfying than just their outward appearance. Sorry, that was a long rant. @msmojo could you possibly do top 20 mean girls in @netflix films and shows please? Your videos are getting better. Favorite movies on this list: 1. Sweet Home Alabama 2. Princess Diaries 2 3. Clueless 4. You’ve Got Mail 5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Oh my gosh!! I’m so happy that Much Ado About Nothing is on here! Shakespeare was making enemies to lovers stories before it was even a thing! I read the play in school a few years ago and I absolutely loved it. It was so charming and funny. And the movie is no different. It’s so hilarious and charming. My mom loves the line “The world must be peopled” and quotes it often 😂
Aw! I’m so happy Stardust is on here! I absolutely love that movie and Yvaine and Tristan are hilarious and adorable together. Though my favorite part about that movie is either the witch sisters or the many brothers who all keep dying 😂
Patrick and Kat give me Robby and Tory from Cobra Kai vibes One is viewed by others as a loner bad boy And the other is a tough assertive blonde chick Ahh young love ❤
I saw When Harry Met Sally for the first time about a year or less ago. It is so funny and charming. My older sister is not a rom com fan but she absolutely loves When Harry Met Sally. I love them because they’re unique from most other enemies to lovers. They’re first enemies, then they become friends and then they fall in love over multiple years. Which you don’t usually get to see in rom coms but I love that about that movie
I like the "slow burn" style of it. They both go through a lot and date other people before getting together. I know it's far from the only movie like that, but, sometimes you need movies like that where the main couple isn't "love at first sight". Or in their case.. even like at first sight.
Elizabeth and Darcy were the couple that made me become a Janeite after reading the novel, doing a final research paper on it for English and watching the movies in 12th grade. My mom read the novel with me at the same time and she also became a Janeite as well; we were both rooting for Lizzy and Darcy up to the end! We were so happy when Darcy finally changed his ways and opened up to Lizzy!
Most of the movies I watched has the haters to lovers concept. I have favorite couples on this list. 1. Han Solo & Princess Leia 2. Alex & Prince Henry 3. John Bender & Claire 4. Maria & Captain Von Trapp 5. Rey and Kylo Ren 6. Cher and Josh 7. Anna & Declan (I knew they would be on this list) 8. Kat & Patrick 9. Mia & Nicholas 10. Andrew & Margaret Tate I want to watch Anyone but You & Stardust.
One day The Sure Thing is going to finally get the love it deserves. It has John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga as Gib and Allison, directed by Rob Reiner, hitchhiking, show tunes, the recommended allowance of riboflavin, and a young Tim Robbins. What more could you want. ❤
You could technically make an allowance for John and Jane Smith from Mr. And Mrs. Smith after the contrivance of their sham of a marriage, then finding out the truth and legit trying to off eachother, then ACTUALLY liking eachother. 🤭
They just do not fit romantically! Linked by the Force? For sure! Almost telepathic twins? Why not! A deep connection, certainly. But a romantic one? I definitely don’t see it.
"As a couple they are simply the best" Seriously?! They killed Ben off! Ben and Rey would've been awesome together but nooooo... Sacrificing yourself for someone isn’t always the best ending. Damn you JJ Abrams!
Agreed! They were meant to be. I think originally Finn was supposed to be with Rey, but had not the same sparkle as Reylo. The creators had no courage. Fanfics are our revenge
At 64 not a romcom fan. Sci-Fi is my favorite genre. Excellent list. Many of these are great. Huge Bill Murray fan, adore Ground Hog Day. Silver Linings Playbookid one of my favorites from this century. Every scene full of insanity. The Breakfast club my favorite teen movie of all time (when she gives him one of her diamond earrings its a moment to die for) I consider When Harry Met Sally my favorite Romcom of all time. Lala Land so interesting in that they didn’t end up together
I love When Harry Met Sally. Pillow Talk is definitely an oldie but a goodie. Also, love Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett and anything with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
The only version of Pride and Prejudice I liked was the one with Zombies...all the others have bored me. Mr. Darcy usually just annoyed me... Leap Year, really? The male lead constantly negged her the whole movie...It got uncomfortable and ruined the film to me. My mom hated that movie! Princess Diaries 2 was a movie I remember being sooo excited for as a kid and then hating when I saw it. Mia and the male lead go from saying "I loath you," to making out without much in between. I know both leads are naturally charming performers, but there wasn't enough in the story to justify them from going to enemies to lovers... I've never understood the hype with How to lose a Guy in 10 Days... I hated the Ugly Truth. The male lead is pretty obnoxious. I like the movie, Clueless, but I never liked the romance in it. I really liked Leia and Han's romance as a kid, but started to question if it was actually a good romance in my teen years. I'm not that fond of it anymore. Red, White and Royal Blue was a great movie! It's a Boy Girl Thing is a underrated movie! The Proposal was hilarious! I loved John Bender and Claire when i saw them as a kid the first time I watched Breakfast Club! Reylo is another great movie couple! 10 Things I Hate About You is a great movie! Sweet Home Alabama and Stardust, is pretty charming films!
Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and Rey Skywalker….🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 Also, like father like son. 🤣🤣 “The Ugly Truth” and “Life as We Know It” are two of my top favorite romcoms of all times. 💗 They’re both absolutely hilarious, romantic and emotionally powerful at the same time, and the chemistry between the leading couple is off the charts. 🔥 On the other hand, I have a feeling I need to watch “Leap Year” because not knowing it I’ve been missing out.

I often nitpick in the comments, but you named the perfect #1, #2 & #3. No complaints here. Great video!
All of them are great
Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett are like the haters to lovers that all other haters to lovers should aspire to be

Henry and Alex are so adorable together 😍😍😍😍
@@b9179 adorable and believable. You actually believe those two are head over heels in love...
I clicked as soon as I saw Alex and Henry in the thumbnail. I'm so excited that a second movie is in development.
I've never seen this. Is it Prince Harry/Justin Trudeau fanfic?
@@Jenifer_R_ This is an incredible question. Unfortunately, no. Its red, white and royal blue
@@theahoman4423 It's what I was thinking... he's a ginger Prince named Henry... Justin was a guess after that.

I love that they had Harry and Sally end up together. Originally, they were supposed to go their separate ways, but Nora Ephron and Rob Reiner thought that Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan had amazing chemistry, and deserved a happy ending.
PRETTY WOMAN was supposed to end differently, too.
The original concept didn't even include a Happy End.
My favorite haters to lovers are cliche moment is when they’re passionately arguing together and then they stare at each other for a few seconds and then they start kissing 😂

I think Dirty Dancing isn’t classic enemeis to lovers
I like when enemies to lovers is not just a man being disrespectful to his love interest and them being kind to her all of a sudden.
The aspect I adore about this genre trope is how realistic it is. Haters to lovers is an overused trope, but it conveys deep feelings despite the bickering and real chemistry. Alex and Henry ❤
I came here for Alex and Prince Henry 😍
Mr Darcy and Miss Bennet are my all time favorite.
“Do you love her?”
*angrily* “YES!”
I love that and it perfectly sums up every enemies to lovers story ever 😂
I'm a simple person, I see First Prince, I click
Red white and royal blue was way too low. And the proposal was waaaay too high.
Red White and Royal Blue should've been higher on the list
The Kenneth Brannagh version of Much Ado About Nothing is one of my all time favourite films. It's wonderful ♥

@@Jennilynne Same! I absolutely love that in movies and it almost never happens
I didn't even think Patrick and Kat were the main couple in their movie. I thought it was Bianca and Cameron because they do the most changing.
Clicking when I see Alex and Henry
Kathryn Heigl and James Marsden in 27 Dresses should be on here
Yes! I love that movie
You forgot "The Sure Thing". John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga are perfect.
I was missing A walk to remember, After and A Hating Game, but otherwise i agree!
What about French Kiss? How about Bringing Up Baby?!? I thought of a couple of others too so it looks like you need a longer list!!
Elizabeth and Darcy were the couple that made me become a Janeite after reading the novel, doing a final research paper on it for English and watching the movies in 12th grade. Nicholas and Mia from The princess diaries 2. Happy tuesday afternoon, Phoebe, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
You can't put You've Got Mail on a list that doesn't also include The Shop Around the Corner.

Where's Rhett and Scarlett???? Lol
Dirty dancing is absolutely AMAZING

Surprised there was no mention of Tracey and Hepburn movies. Also for Doris Day/Rock Hudson, i would choose Lover Come Back.
Han and Leia would have been #1 if the Legends were considered 😉
You could technically make an allowance for John and Jane Smith from Mr. And Mrs. Smith after the contrivance of their sham of a marriage, then finding out the truth and legit trying to off eachother, then ACTUALLY liking eachother. 🤭
But they technically liked each other in the beginning, they just thought they were safe as well.

Mitsuha & Taki - "Your Name" (2016)
P&P 2005 absolutely deserves to be #1. IMHO, Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Darcy is the most romantic character ever seen on screen.
I love When Harry Met Sally. Pillow Talk is definitely an oldie but a goodie. Also, love Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett and anything with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks.
