Best Director for Lanthimos

Dicky Dewantara sadly, the oscars dont seem to care about anything Lanthimos makes
@@nicolaspoblete640 maybe Yorgos will get the recognition he deserves next year. Hopefully.
Dicky Dewantara lets cross our fingers
+Nicolas Poulette You realize that his script for The Lobster was nominated for Best Original Screenplay, right?
Best Supporting Actor (Nicholas Hoult) (?)

Best Production Design
Best Costume Design

Queen Anne - Did you just look at me? Look at me! How dare you?! Close your eyes!
Saw this two weeks ago. Colman, Stone and Weisz are nothing short of magnificent, and I want the film to win Best Picture.
I saw this alone in a theatre once. A shame no one else wanted to see it as much as I did, but it was definitely worth it!
imagine now this movie's 3 major casts are the academy award's winners
Damn, that music
MundoJuanci do you (does anyone) know what song that begins at 1:09?
@@mrtalksalot12345 Didascalies by Luc Ferrari
What music?
Cody Rodgers
It’s from the film soundtrack. It’s here on TH-cam it’s called “Bow to the Queen”
Olivia Colman best actress #Oscar2019 Of course
Oh man I'm so glad I found this movie again. I needed to be somewhere, anywhere, so I chose the movie theater and picked this movie thinking it was just a standard period piece. I guess pleasantly surprised was one way to out it. Very excited to watch this again now having seen his other movies
I want to see this one so bad!!
The trailer you just watched shows the whole movie, you are welcome.
I think I can proudly say that yorgos lanthimos is my favorite director of the 2010s
👌
I'm tempted to agree. In my opinion he wont be able to surpass Denis Villeneuve tho
Sergio Tarkovsky unless you want to take into consideration dogtooth came out in 2010 in the US
@@samdunkdunk As good as Yorgos is...I mean...Blade Runner 2049...come on.
Saw this at the New York Film Festival a few days ago. Can't stop thinking about it! Colman and Weisz are hysterical and Emma Stone gives the performance of her LIFE. Highly recommend when this gets a wider release.
Oscar goes to -----
Best Actress - Olivia Colman
Best Supporting Actress - Rachel Weisz / Emma Stone
Best Movie - The Favourite (Hopefully)
Best Director - Yorgos Lanthimos
Best Cinematography - The Favourite
Best Costume Design - The Favourite
What about screenplay
oh! my mistake ...
Best Costume Design goes to Black Panther
Natalie Portman will win the best actress award
Shah Anaam She is supporting!!!!!
I just watched this. I was expecting a comedy from the trailer, I didn’t see that story coming. Wow, intense stuff.
Lanthinos was ROBBED
YESYESYESYES! Congratulations to both Yorgoses, Lanthimos for nomination in best directing and Mavropsaridis for nomination in best editing!
That movie..I mean it leaves you such a feeling for many days. But that's what makes this movie a masterpiece. You can feel so much the charachter's feelings it is just amazing. Congratulions Γιωργο! We love you♥️ Lots of kisses from Greece💘
Deserved so many more awards but at least Colman got hers. Performance of the year.
One of the most amazing movies I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable Lanthimos. Unbelievable great 3 actresses.
For me, my Top 3 films of the 2010’s in no particular order are The Master, The Favourite and The Lighthouse.
Never thought we would see the reign of Queen Anne made into a movie. The Elizabeths and Victoria so overshadow Anne.
Shoutout to the score piece "Didascalies" by Luc Ferrari (can be heard in the film itself twice) which is just an absolute madness.
Crazily invoking tunes slowly spiralling to an absolute phantasmagoric aural blow; fit to accompany a 15-minute Yorgos Lanthimos film if he'd ever make one.
This piece describes Yorgos' films perfectly.
Was fortunate enough to see this at Telluride. Easily my favorite film I saw at the fest.
moviemaster8510 oh god it’s so close to a Star is born tho, they’re both masterpieces
Kenneth Films not even close darling :)
moviemaster8510 is it funny or is it just the way the trailer was cut?
@@MimiMadness94 It's fucking hysterical.
So, you're saying it was The Favourite
Colman's performance is something else, one of the most brilliant in decades, is not an overstatement.
Also the film is a top 3 of the year with Roma and Cold War, great year for cinema indeed...
Successful people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance- wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life..
@Pierre Dubois You're right, Investing in bitcoin now is the best thing to do especially with the current rise in the market
people are really making a lot of money from it... . .
please I have been hearing about this Mr Aitor Lorenzo from my colleagues at work. How do I easily contact him

Olivia Colman is getting more recognition in the last years! She won many accolades recently! With the crown and the favorite, I think she is going to get new awards...maybe an Oscar or at least a nomination for this movie! She is a fantastic actress! Same for Stone with this movie and maniac
Lathimos, probably one of the most unique directors of the 21st century with movies like dogtooth, lobster, the killing of a sacred deer, etc
Lol, even both Andersons are more unique
FYI Paul Thomas Anderson is my fav right now even Wes Anderson is one of my fav but this guy brings unique concepts, while pta's doesn't repeat himself.
What about Roy Andersson
is this lowkey a lesbian love triangle? love that
forevergirl it is. Probably gonna win the glaad and Dorian award for best lgbt film
*highkey lesbian love triangle... All the actresses have talked about it a lot in interviews.
If it's lowkey, it would be a first.
Low key?? 😏
You should watch Coleman talk about one of the scenes on The Graham Norton Show. It's on YT.
Congrats Olivia Colman for winning Best Actress at the Oscars!
I love this movie. It's my second favourite film of 2018. Everything from the screenplay to the direction, the cinematography, the costume design, and acting was done amazingly.
This is the first film from Yorgos Lanthimos that I've seen and now I really want to see his other films because I was really impressed by this film. If I had to give this film a rating, I would give it a 9/10.
I'm really disappointed that it didn't win best picture at the Oscars. This film is way better than Green Book. Does anyone else think that The Favourite should have won best picture and not Green Book?
Idris Thomas good yorgos films: watch the lobster (it’s on netflix) killing of a sacred deer (amazon prime video) dogtooth (oscar nominee) Alps (amazon prime video)
@@jared-selina Thanks for recommending those movies to me. I will check them out at some point.
I loved Green Book.
But it didn't have the the gorgeous sets and cinematography as this one.
Of course we all know this will dominate in categories such as Costume Design, Production Design, Cinematography, etc. But I’m betting on this also getting nominations in the major categories as well!
Unless Mary Queen of Scots outdoes them though I don't think it will
Love Olivia Colman, have seen her in comedic parts and dramas, she’s an excellent actress.
Unbelievable this movie only received one Oscar. It deserved Production Design (One of the best works of the decade), Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing (It was not the best of the year, but the better among the nominees) at least.
saw this movie at an early screening during a film festival. its absolutely BRILLIANT. a must watch this year!!!!
Olivia Colman gave the performance of a lifetime 💚💜❤️ One of the Greatest....
Based on real people.
I love how Yorgos doesn't change much of his cast in every film.." the lobster " blew me away.."killing of the sacred deer" had me transfixed.."dogtooth" took my sanity away.."the favourite" awaits!!
This is easily one of the best movie trailers I have ever watched. Brilliant.
Yeah, it looks fun. Unfortunately not so the film.
One of the best movies that i've seen lately. The cast is amazing and what a joy to watch those amazing talented women
Fabulous film. Olivia Coleman just brilliant!
Just came back from the movie: It is AWESOME. The three main actresses are unbelievably good.
DOES THIS TRAILER SCENES REMIND ANYBODY OF STANLEY KUBRICK BARRY LYNDON? IT DID TO ME.
I've been saying for over 2 years that Lanthimos is the next Kubrick
Holy shit! I was thinking Barry Lyndon, too!
;)
duh now, said the imp.
When I saw it, I said the same thing, except it also looks like a combination of BL and Love & Friendship
Three of the best performances of the century
They all deserve an Oscar!
What a Masterpiece!
It was brilliant and I couldn’t help laughing for every single scene of the movie. Emma is unbelievably good and Olivia is completely amazing.
Emma Stone is officially one of my favourite actress.
emma stone is so incredibly versatile and talented, already from this it seems like another oscar nomination on the way
Easily the best film of the year
Olivia Colman delivers the best performance of the year with little effort, she’s a genius.
100% agree!
Such an amazing movie... high quality acting.
The soundtrack is so unique. Baroque but for the most part the
film's music seems give each scene... a pulse... just a pulse
to build up the tension.
I didn't think anything would top Roma but I think this one did. Stunning film.
Olivia Colman was fkkking BRILLIANT in this film!!!!!!! 👌👌👌
I'm so unbelievably hyped for this movie it's insane. AHHHHHHHH November 23rd come quick.
D. W. it’s november 23rd
Im over here watching the trailer wondering when it's out lmao
Came here from the oscars. She completely deserved winning best lead actress
Man those fish-eyed wide angle fast paced shots were beautiful to look at and actually added a feeling to the scene - knowing way more than you can handle.
This is truly an excellent movie which you don't see every year.
I watched this movie with my mom today and I could tell my mom was regretting bringing me during the movie. 😂
Purple Potato 42 lol i was gonna see it with my mom then i looked at PARENTS GUIDE for this movie and i was like 😳
