When I see it now I feel for that sad young woman that I was as it reminds me of how miserable I could get and how the way of dealing with the pain of the girl in the video is so relatable

This song is really sad. My boyfriend/best friend died tragically 20 years ago and I spent years after in a stupor. I was depressed, suicidal, and using drugs and alcohol regularly. I remember my level of sadness and I didn't care about anything other than not feeling the pain I was experiencing. It's been many years since (I'm nearly 40 now) and I can certainly still recognize what this song is saying. I am grateful to have survived this time in my life and hope that anyone struggling reaches out for help.
