Problem with latest VAG 2.0 TDIs is oil/vacuum pumps which, especially oil pump part of it are weak. Combining them with vacuum pump makes it much trickier to upgrade with the old sprocket driven 1.9tdi pumps. Would be awesome to figure this outdi.

Fantastic, detailed video! Liked and subscribed. For this vacuum pump, do you see any way that it can leak unmetered air into the cylinder head? I have an 2015 A5 B8 2.0TFSI cpmb engine, and have been chasing positive 15-20 percent long term fuel trims for a long time. Did everything from smoke tests, replaced with oem pcv, etc. but I keep seeing that my trims shoot up when I hold the brakes hard or pump the brakes. I keep thinking something's going on with this vacuum pump, but I don't understand it enough to know if it can leak air making the engine run lean. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

5:58 I see you got B9 wagon! I was think at the beginning when you said, this is the last we’ll see of the B8; I was assuming a Q3 or Q5 for the replacement. Also, my B8.5 doesn’t have that helpful guide on the fuse panel. Owner’s manual is the only reference I have.

Great video! I think i have the same issue, except the tabs on the port that goes into the vaccum punp are broken. Do you happen to know the part number I've tried to search unsuccessfully.

08:35 is what you're talking about, I believe. As I say, push tabs, pull outwards.

how did you get the push fiting to go in they gave me a green o ring and its too snugg and wont go in????

As in, the one at 14:22? Is it loose at all? Because it shouldn't be. If it's the wrong ring and not snug, I could see it binding on the housing when you're trying to push it in. But if it's the right size and you're just having trouble, I use synthetic grease to lube all the seals so nothing grabs and twists while it's being seated. Lube it, give a push - should work. Also, note the orientation of the 2 tabs on the vent with the green o-ring on it - they need to line up with the receiving holes in the pump housing.

Just a question , with the crush gasket, the one that comes off the pump is 3 layers , do i re use the other 2 with the included crush gasket in the kit?

Hey Katy - I'm not sure I totally understand your question, simply because with the kit there would be no need to re-use anything at all. Toss away that old black gasket (like seen at 09:30) and replace with the new one, no matter what.

As long as Michael Bay has never been a part of it, absolutely.
