My wife and I are considering our first river cruise for next year. We heard Viking is for an older crow so we were curious about Ama. Your video and the comments were helpful. I'm thinking this will be a good fit for a couple in their 50s.
We just turned 60 and have been doing River cruises for many years, Viking is hard to bet, we have gone on scenic also, but I was very impressed with Ama, the food was a step above and service was top notch! Viking is the big dog on the rivers, and you can’t go wrong with either Viking or Ama in my opinion, so be booked two more with Ama myself
Cash is still a big deal in Germany, but most places take credit cards, so couple things I can advise, get money at (bank) ATM to get cash, absolutely no Euro star locations, they are a scam!!! You need a few euros all the time, because some bathrooms you have to pay to use, but most of the time, credit card and turn down conversions by venders, your back will have best conversions. Don’t do any money conversions at airports either, I sometimes get euros from my local bank and bring $500 with me, Good luck and it’s a magical time!!!
Yeah, we went on Avalon from Nurnberg to Budapest. Dec. 12-19, Couldn't due to water level. It turned into a bus trip. Not happy. We had to miss Melk, which was a highlight. Compensation was low.

Thank you for complement, you will enjoy AmA, have done many trips with different companies, and AMA was great

loved your seamless presentation. We are going in 2024.
My sister let me pick out an after cancer trip and I’m doing the Christmas market cruise 2024. AMA Bella.

Curious if the Rhine is less likely to have river closures?
Do I need cash for Christmas markets?
Yes!
