As someone who lives in Aussie I’d say just be aware that it might be colder than you think 😂 unless you’re moving somewhere up super north it still gets chilly (at least at night) a lot of the year and our houses are absolutely not built for the cold so you may actually find you feel colder some of the time! But do not stress because our thrifting is also 😘👌 anything you don’t have you’ll be able to get your hands on fairly easy xx
Oh my gosh, amazing insight, thank you!! I've come to realize that i can literally just thrift whatever I need once I'm there, so it's extra nice to hear the insider scoop on how good the thrift is ;) thanks for the help!!
Ohhh yas the vest! Kaki trousers, linnen trousers, jeans, cream turtleneck, button up shirt, long sleeve tops, little scarf knotted around the neck for western horse girl vibes, mustard yellow skirt, etc etc
That vest is absolutely amazing ❤ I would spice it up 70s style with jeans and a turtle neck or even over a spicey button up ❤ but it would be super cute over a long sleeve with leggings and boots as well ❤
I say keep the vest, add the doiley. And for the red jacket - it looked cute both ways, id maybe find a way so you could pin the bottom up, maybe attach metal prong buttons to the bottom and inside so you could flip it up? That way you could still wear it longer to layer over dresses, then shorter to wear with your pants/jeans. Another great vid :)
As a knitter that sweater does look handmade (esp. because of the small holes in the armpit where you would pick up stitches for the sleeves. And the fibre looks like alpaca to me but i could obvs wrong about that as its a bit hard to tell without feeling it. :)
The first wool sweater and the sherpa vest look like they were made for you (imho!), and the swirly denim skirt is so beautiful on you! Honestly, I’m tempted to urge you to not change the vest, but that would be disingenuous - I believe in creatively changing clothing to make it your own✨ And the doily will look amazing and original on it, and softens the look to be Very Gaby! Soft flowing pants or skirts with it will balance the shape of the vest, and a rub with gold acrylic paint can take care of the silver snaps. And if you eventually decide you don’t want it, you could sell it or give to a special shop so that it definitely finds its way to someone who will love the gorgeous changes you made ☺️ PS, You could keep the versatility of the tush-covering jacket by sewing in snaps or Velcro, so that you can pull down the length when you need more warmth. I’ve heard that parts of Australia can actually get quite chilly, so especially good if you plan on sightseeing-travel while you’re there!
Well thank youuuu! It felt that way when I found them too👀 meant to be! I've got some mixed opinions on whether to add the doily so I might not, or maybe if I do I'll just add it in a way that makes it easy to remove🤔 Thanks for the comment my friend!
Hi Gab, I loved your thrift finds! I'm obsessed with the sweaters you got 😍 I've been really into the good quality knitted wool sweaters lately, even though I think my skin is allergic to wool lol. The faux shearling vest is a cool piece - it has a 70s Boho or Western (Cowboy) feel to it. I could see that layered over a long-sleeved top with some tall leather boots (or Cowboy boots) and jeans for Winter. Or you could try it over a flowy dress with boots. I forget about my vests bc I have trouble styling them, but I think they're pretty versatile and fun to play with once you figure it out lol :) hope you're having a great day
They were such a find🥹 and okay I might have to do the vest with a dress! I like that. Good to hear from you my friend, hope you're doing well out there!
A classic 1970s way to wear the vest would be over a long-sleeve floral midi dress with knee high boots (with the dress covering the boot tops). I wouldn’t add the doily to the vest (if that’s what you were suggesting).
hii, this thrift haul is literally one of the best that I've ever seen :) I love the little vest thing. it is so cute and honestly you can throw any white top situation under it and it would look amazing! for the crochet part, it might be a little much because of the lining inside, but I do think it looks cute
Awe thank you!! My little declutter video just came out and I've gotten a lot of people asking about a try on closet tour so I'll definitely be getting around to that in the coming weeks😊 also, I think you're right... I think I'll keep the vest the way it is! Thanks for the comment🌼❤️
Hey Gabrielle, the vest is a keeper I would say. I imagine it being super cute over flowy dresses, maybe even the one you showed here. Maybe with a nice belt on top to give it some shape :-)
Hi there is a site called MYTHERESA and they have a Kenya wool v- neck sweater and it is by MAX MARA. Love both of the sweaters and the skirt. Have fun in Australia. I want to go on vacation and go visit the zoo and go on a safari trip. Peace and Blessings 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🌹🌹🌹
Aweee oh my gosh I just stalked your channel and you've got great vibes n aesthetic so I really do take this compliment very seriously😂🙏 thank you my friend!
the shape of that doily was just too perfect - seems like it was meant to be! 😊 but the red jacket def looks cooler long imo!! but I see what you were going for with it short - has kind of a "leather jacket" vibe shape-wise 🤔 your hauls are the best. ever thought about doing a giveaway for your subscribers after a closet cleanout??? I feel like someone out there who has bad luck with thrift stores in their area might really appreciate your finds!!
Watching the video back I think I kinda like the long jacket too🤔 and thank you thank you! The thrift has been (a little too) good to me haha. And I have! Shipping is a little expensive since I'm in Canada but it might have to be something I look into in the future :)) Thanks for the comment!

Ouh, I'm gonna have to add linen trousers and turtleneck to the repertoire!! Thank you :))
That vest is great - with or without the doily. You can wear it with almost anything -- sweaters, blouses, and dresses.
Yesss, flowy vibes🌼✨️
That vest is absolutely amazing ❤ I would spice it up 70s style with jeans and a turtle neck or even over a spicey button up ❤ but it would be super cute over a long sleeve with leggings and boots as well ❤
Yesss, love the 70s vibe idea🕊 thanks for the comment!!
The background of your video is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you🌼😊

Thank you!! Metal prongs are a good idea... would probably make for easy transitions :) thanks for the comment🌼

Ouhhh okay this is good to know! I'm now going to be checking my clothing for armpit holes haha. Thanks for the comment!!
That vest would be super cute with the blue skirt too. That skirt is awesome ❤
Oh very true! Thank you :))
I love the vest! Definitely keep it. I actually liked the dress layered with the pants that you were wearing.
I thought the pants looked cute peeking out too.
Haha well I guess I just accidentally made a cute little fit😂 thanks for pointing it out!!

The doily on the back is such a cool idea!
Thank you! We'll see if I have time to do it even before my move😅

you are so cute and I like that suede jacket long! Also the doily would look so cool on the vest. I’ve been looking for a vest like that for a while.
Awe thank you😊 and I'm sending good vest vibes your way my friend🌼✨️ thanks for the comment!
Hi keep the vest and add the dooley and cut the suede coat and turn into a jacket. Great idea. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Amazing, thank you!

The vest is definitely a vibe
No doily
Yay, okay, thank you for the help🌞
