      Hey Nextallica! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video and interested in the modification. For reference, I’ve had the cover on the wheel for a few months now and it’s still in great condition and haven’t noticed any quality issues with the materials. Definitely still recommend!

    Great video! I was looking at that kit, do you think it would be possible if I cut off my old leather, and could cut the new leather so I could keep my wood exposed?

    • @Awesomoto
      @Awesomoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Colton, yes this would likely work if you have straight cut lines and you’ll want to add extra adhesive around the spots that transition to the wood grain.

    Thinking of doing this with my steering wheel. If you had to do over again, would you do this again? How durable is it? Any chipping, fading, etc.?

    • @Awesomoto
      @Awesomoto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Matt. If I had to do it all over I would have sanded the emblem a little smoother before painting as the uneven sanding showed. I had to re-sand it and paint over it. Other than that, I love the way it looks and is a nice clean look for the interior.

      @@Awesomoto Also, thanks for doing all these videos. Your taste is spot on when it comes to chosing the right upgrades for the GX. I'm an original owner of a 2008. It has 206,000 miles and I love it so much. Drives like new still. I just want to chip away an some upgrades to bring it up to today a bit. Just put some Willwood brakes on the front. Amazing braking now. Question, did you do the Phoenix upgrade with your existing nav? That's the upgrade I'm most neverious about since my AC and everything currently runs thru my center screen. I don't want to create a nightmare for myself.

    • @Awesomoto
      @Awesomoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for reaching out! 🙏🏻
      Yeah I upgraded my head unit from the nav setup so everything run through the touch screen for climate controls. I was worried about it failing, but I haven’t had any issues. It’s a little clunky at first, but I like it now. Some may not like the touch screen controls though.

    Hey guys curious to know if a newer Lexus steering wheel can just be swapped out with my old leather torn GX470 steering wheel. Is it as simple as removal and plug and play?

    • @Awesomoto
      @Awesomoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about the newer steering wheels, but I have seen some people put Camry wheels into their GXs. The GXOR Facebook page had some good posts on this.

    Have you ever done anything to the dash of the Gx 470? All your fixes are pretty neat, I was just wondering…Mine is cracked like every single one of them…

    • @Awesomoto
      @Awesomoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Rolando! Thankfully my dash wasn’t cracked when I bought, so I have not done any dash mods. I do see people in the GXOR Facebook group posting solutions for cracked dashes. Some completely replace and other post dash covers from different companies. Hope this helps!

    • @Awesomoto

      Hey @Digital_06, thank you for subscribing to the channel! There will be plenty of new GX videos rolling out this fall...so something to look forward to! I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either 470 or 460! They both look great and are very capable/reliable vehicles. @Awesomoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for reaching out Dylan! Also thank you for sharing this video in the GX Facebook group! 🙏🏻
      I’m not sure how it would hold up on the dash. My initial thoughts are yes, but I haven’t tested it in extreme heat conditions. It’s holding up well on my steering wheel, but I always use a sun shade, so it doesn’t see extreme heat.
