When he said he was bullying because the sky was clear I think he meant there wasn’t really a reason. He just did it cuz he wanted too
I think the guy in front of the vending machine began bullying our dude because the guy was the alpha bully at that school, and not knowing that, our dude offered him coins, then a hand to help get up off the ground. Alpha bullies usually have such fragile masculinity that they don't like the feeling of needing someone's assistance or kindness. He also could've felt insulted thinking that this new kid was pitying him.
Yeah the bully also came from a rich and influential family(I think?) so for him it was insulting that someone of low class like Hyun-Soo offered him money even though it was done out of kindness. The bully was on a power trip, knowing that he could get away with almost anything given who his family is. He could have walked away, he could have politely declined the money and avoided Hyun-Soo but he saw an opportunity to show his dominance and fix his ego.
I think the bully was the new kid at Hyun-Su's school tho? I'm not sure, I could be wrong
29:08 in South Korea, bullying allegations are extremely serious (as you can see from this show, bullies do despicable things to their victims), so whenever a celebrity/idol is accused of bullying people in their past, their whole career could end. Considering the suicide rate of S.K being one of the highest in the world, I believe that bullying people over there has more insane consequences than in America since Koreans are raised to follow the crowd and care SO MUCH about their reputation.
The fact that when minors commit crimes the punishments are like a slap on the wrist and the minors knows this so some are not afraid.
@@ningning9418 the overall justice system in SK is so bad in terms of rulings/verdicts but especially the juvenile justice system. I hate how minors think they can do whatever they want because they won’t get punished for it.

It isn't THAT intense most of the time. Drama is drama reality is quite different. Although it's true abt weak punishment it goes both sides for minors AND adults which is why people are more furious cuz they know predators are gonna get away with it so they're trying to just end their career and kill them socially.
I remember thinking the parents are trash to this day cuz idc how poor you are, what type of parent would rather let their son get bullied to the point of wanting to kill himself just to keep a job💀 and same goes for the sister who somehow made he brother’s traumatic life into her being a victim

And regarding the bullying scene, the bully said that the reason is because “the sky was blue” meaning there’s no need for any reason behind bullying others. They do just because they feel like that.
yes that was the friend from all of us r dead in the flashback. and not gonna lie originally when i watched, when the bully said y he was bullying Hyun-soo my brain didn't click but it makes sense. all he said was because the sky was clear. there wasn't a real reason to bully him. I think the writers are trying to make the point that whatever "reasons' bullies have to try and justify bullying doesnt matter. there is never a good reason to bully/get bullied. and no he was mad at his parents because they weren't doing anything to help the bullying stop. they just ignored it. and we saw how the sister went around claiming Hyun-soo wasn't her brother.
That is one of the many reasons why we love Korean shows.. the annoying, but amazing cliffhangers
Yes bullying is pretty common in Korea, it blows my mind how serious it can get there. I think it’s their whole culture of seniority and reputation that makes bullying so much easier to get away with, eg when the bullies are from influential families, are popular etc.
The ending to this episode gets me every time. The guy finally gets out of the building to survive, reminiscing about the past when he tried to kill himself, shown with that ray of sunlight as the car leaves the building and then BOOM. To answer your question at 23:01, yes it is the actor who played Gyeongsu from AOUAD. He played Cheongsan's best friend. :) Great actor.
apparently bullying in korea is actually similar to kdramas which is why they take bullying cases seriously there
Idk if y’all ever heard of strangers from Hell but it’s also based on a webtoon and I suggest watching it next it’s really good
the bullying is a realistic and huge problem especially in South Korea, it is very sad thing to read about how cruel some of these kids can get, it also has a bit to do with how they punish juveniles, the juvenile act is wild how much it protects children under the age of 14 from any major punishment (even for something like murder) (there is a whole other kdrama focused on this issue called juvenile justice and goes into much detail on the problems and examples) but anyways i feel like it involves that and just the school culture in South Korea whether its the bullies, the ones bullied, the teachers who ignore it, or the administrators of the school who attempt to cover it up (at times) due to it being a bad look for the school.

Sometimes that's how you apologize to your siblings after you fight and you said some painful truths to each other. Rather then apologize out loud...you help each other out because you are both grown up enough to realize maybe you pushed on those painful buttons that you know the other person has. You don't throw away your family most of the time. Sometimes...we don't realize that they are in a really bad place. It's not often but sometimes it's a gradual thing. And you apologize like the doctor and the dancer...by just helping each other out through the bad times.
I just realized that Hyun Su's bully here was the same guy with glasses who killed his classmates from Duty After School.

Recommendation: 🇬🇧 Top Boy on Netflix, Crime / Thriller / GTA like show with so many twists it will make your head spin. There is Top Boy: Summerhouse which is the origin series. The series is around 6ep per season and it has been renewed for another season!
I would recommend you to watch "youth of may". The Main leads are the brother and sister here in sweet home. This is a really great drama.

The bullying in south korea is intense in almost every kdrama there are bullying someone it's like a traditional in south korea because thye never feel bullying someone is wrong thye just said "we r just chilling with you" about a few months ago i really wanted to go south korea it's like a dream to me but when i slowly understand what a normal person's life in south korea like if your not pretty if your skin colour is not fair and if you don't have a perfect shape body then it's almost impossible for you to Live in south korea with peace people can literally said on your face that your not pretty, way don't you get a surgery, and if your doing a job and you have high IQ and your intelligent and very passionate about your work about your job but if your not pretty that means the job is not for you in simple words beauty standard is so so high in south korea because of that a simple looking girl or a boy it's very much tough for them to live in South Korea what a disgusting and foolish thinking is this people are going to judge you according to how you look😐 after all this information i got about south korea i am really very thankful that i am from India 🇮🇳 where atleast people from India are not that stupid to judge how you look 🙂
