Thank you for the pointers man. I'm always looking to get better and better at his style. I don't spend much time watching him specifically. I see him rock his bar very slowly at times but also much quicker. Between his effects and his fingers and his tremolo wobble it's always set to random speeds lol. I'll spend some time listening to the lead and see if I can hone in on what you're saying thank you for the tip. Not too long ago we were playing this on stage and I looked in the third row and I saw someone crying. I thought damn it must be working 😂
@@ryanguitargodfrey it works very well dude but i know you want it to be spot on like gilmour's so i think this will help. His speed is really variable i totally agree. He's a tough one to imitate.
This Helix is a lot of fun. In the past I was just using a line 6 Vetta II cab mainly for the highwatt and I have all analog pedals. I never really played that set up on my videos but I've gotten really good at emulating his sound for certain eras. However we go through the different times and albums when we play out so his later stuff is always been more difficult for me to nail. We're doing the wall in October two nights back to back at this amazing theater. Got the Helix because I really want to take it to the next level. I'm having fun with the learning curve and trying to dial in these sounds as much as I possibly can. I'm taking it out for it's made in voyage for a show next month at music fest Cafe in Bethlehem PA. Should be fun
@@leondadoun5421 So I do play the lead with the guitar still in Nashville tuning. You're able to do that because the lead starts in E. I grabbed the third fret on the B string and bend up to the open E to start the lead out and then it's just a walk up those strings all the way to the end. It's a little nasty that bend down there but if you lean your head back and think your guitar god you could hit it no problem lol. But yes the singer in our band picks up a guitar for this song specifically and I also play with a rhythm guitar. So we hit The two lower notes for the heavy rhythm part on two other guitars while I'm playing the lead on the Nashville tuning. If you look closely this is the guitar that is tuned in Nashville. It's why I start down at the bottom with the bend
@@leondadoun5421 Dude honestly, I think about figuring out how to sell my tones because I play six or seven theater shows a year in a pink fluid tribute band and have probably 50 songs set. I like mine better than most other I see on TH-cam that make money for selling them. Honestly dude I would give them to you if you wanted them.
I have an orange color boost that I have on effects loop 1 and then I have the boss RT20 which mimics my Yamaha r200 rotary speaker on effects loop 2. I control them coming on and off to the effects loops. I use them because they're better than the versions in the Helix and it just warms my guitar up even more. You would have those two issues in my chain if you didn't plug things in the effects loops like I do. However you can easily make those two blocks the color boost in the Helix and the triple rotary in exchange of my boss pedal I use.
Awesome as always. ❤
I think gilmour moved that whammy bar alittle faster did a faster vibrato in his performance , though.
Like it would start slow and then gets gradually faster.

@@ryanguitargodfrey from what i'm seeing now you're pretty spot on with the tone.
Do you play the lead with the guitar still in Nashville tuning? Do you have a second guitar doing the heavy distortion part during that lead solo?

Would you be interested in selling any of your helix tones?
