Love that thick glass from old binoculars. Great idea. I’ve been using a normal one I took apart. It works great too. I can catch pavement on fire with it on a summer day. My dad use to get pissed when we melted holes in his driveway messing with ants. Back when we still had a ozone layer
Just watched your first video about this pouch last night. Looks good as it was in your last video. Do you ever carry fat wood? I carry some charred cloth and some dried fungi but the fat wood I carry with me all the time lights up like gas with just a spark from the ferro rod. Lights in a second with a flame. Its easy to carry and you can process it in the field with a knife or at home with a drill. I processed some at home using a drill to drill through the sticks of fat wood which produces a fine ground up sticky dust like material. Still easy to carry and will burn on water. Its as reliable as cotton wool soaked in Vaseline only more natural.
I will carry it sometimes, but my property is littered with red pine so I can pretty much get it whenever I want it if I’m out, I do agree it’s one of the best natural fire materials out there
What a surprise to see you have an almost identical kit to mine. I love the scorpion as well. And my SAK is the Rangergrip 79 equipped with a firefly and helix tinder.I include fatwood as it is so reliable in unfavourable conditions. It’s also good to add to a tinder nest.

What tin are you using to carry your burning lens?
Tbh I don't even remember.
I use the smaller Crossman pellet tin. It fits my magnifying glass almost perfectly. The glass is a 6x that I got at the dollar store.
@@leighchristopherson2455 Thank you for the info. I'll give that set up a gander.
Just enough stuff. 👍🏼👍🏼
