@@nicknaque2261exactly. No third party votes. Except in this scenario: I think there is a possibility that Trump could clinch the nomination and then be convicted before the RNC in July. I think there is a possibility that there could be a contested convention and Trump could be kicked off the ticket. In that case, Trump could run as a third party candidate simply to piss off the RNC. In this scenario, MAGAts can vote third party! But the pro-democracy coalition cannot vote third party!

I'm not saying we're going to get a President AOC in 2028, but we can elect a lot more progressives at every level of government which collectively can do more than a President AOC. The ACA saved my life. Working for minimum wage, I couldn't afford insurance (rent or health insurance?) Then the ACA came along, I got to go to a doctor! Seems like a basic human right to me... Docs found cancer, I had the best surgeons and the best treatment. Clear for 13 months now. Trump gets to play President again, and I may very well die if it comes back, for I don't have $$$$$$. An honest to God possible death sentence if I lose my ACA insurance. No more check-ups. No treatment if it returns.

I heard Fox talking about how it's a good idea to fire all career people at federal agencies. People like Tommy Tuberville have said out loud that elections don't work. This isn't new, but Empty G and Gropebert as well as others have talked about putting the church at the head of the government (which denomination?) Mike Johnson claims we're a Biblical Republic. And keep in mind that Project 2025 was not written exclusively for Trump. It was written for the next MAGAt president. So we have to win in 2024, but don't be surprised when Project 2025 morphs into Project 2029 and prolly gets even worse! We're going to be fighting fascism/Trumpism for a while. Thank you Tammy Baldwin for your amendment that allowed students to stay on health care through the ACA; I was a single mom trying to get my daughter through college. The ability to have her continue with insurance until she graduated, got a job and her own insurance, was a huge financial and mental relief!

It's also how you can tell there is nothing right, Christian or America first about the "America first Christian right". If we really were a Christian nation, we would have universal health care and we wouldn't have the homelessness problem. If the MAGAts just made Bezos pay his fair share by himself we could solve a lot of America first problems. I think that's how I'm going to challenge MAGAts for now on. If they say they're America first or Christian, I'll bring up the "fact" they're willing to pay a few bucks more in taxes to get universal health care and take care of the homeless. And truly, if they taxed the rich and corporations, it wouldn't cost the rest of us really anything more.
When those same people who support the demise of the ACA have nothing else to fall on hindsight will be a major blow to them especially since trump has no plans to replace it. Don't forget he's been lieing about it since 2017.
High prescription drug prices make sense if you know that we live in the most corrupt country on the planet. I work in healthcare billing and a patient was billed $5,500 for 60 pills. She was elderly and had limited income so she had to decide between her rent and paying for half her medication. This is inhumane and obscene!
saving the ACA in the senate was McCain greatest gift to the people of the United States of America. With that vote he saved countless lives over the years and even more in the years to come.

Got on ACA after having to leave my teaching job. Stage 4 breast cancer. Cobra was almost $1000.00 a month. ACA $0. Trump has no idea what he’s doing. People have gotten used to having affordable care.
As a Conservative Independent and Discerning Christian here in Georgia, I say the ACA/Obamacare is a compassionate program, and it's what saved me from financial ruin after I had two major surgeries, especially being unemployed!!! Glad to hear that so much good came of this. The only caution I offer is the understanding that the ACA was worded and made to benefit the Big predatory healthcare system in the first place. The reason "affordable care" is literally in the name is because enacting this made so much of healthcare even more unaffordable. Insurance and medicines surged badly, so folks who *didn't* qualify were now forced to pay even more out of pocket. Certain disabilities still don't see coverage. Many folks who've re-entered society despite their setbacks and mistakes... drugs, prison, etc. are also seeing pushback. It's becoming an "ideal citizens only" club... I think you can see where I'm going. I pray that, whoever wins, the best course for *all* God's children is the one we arrive on. Even if Trump has to be in office for a few months to have it revoked before being impeached and a better plan can take its place. Heaven forbid folks retain the perspective that God is in control, and that His will (and the good of all people) should come before our hate of one man.

You get my vote Tammy Baldwin. 💙👍 What hurts workers to is once we get a good raise our insurance goes up and takes our raises and then some so we never get ahead.
It's the same with the COLA for SS... What ever little raise you get mainly goes to a rise in Medicare. You're lucky to get an extra $10 a month, while your living expenses have gone up a lot more. It's death through a thousand paper cuts.
Getting rid of the "Pre existing conditions" has allowed people to quit a crappy job and know they will have coverage at another job. This is not stressed enough. Workers are so much more mobile. Before they were trapped if anyone in the family was being treated for any condition.

I hacked the voting machines in her district so not only I voted for her, but it flipped the votes of her opposition directly to her. Dominion helped me along with Hugo Chavez before he died years ago, he really loved to plan for the distant future.

Correct. And, ironically, because he announced his candidacy so early, he caused himself to be indicted.
Have you heard of Oepidus Rex? It's this story about Oepidus who liked fortune tellers and prophets. He talked to a fortune teller who said he was going to kill his father and marry his mother. Oepidus was horrified by this, so he moved away and vowed to never return. Except, because of a series of events, Oepidus did find himself back in his home village and he did end up killing his father and marrying his father. It was the fact that Oepidus tried to rig the system that caused the prediction to come true.
In Trump's case, we all know in 2021-2022 he was all worried about being indicted. We also know that Garland was hesitant about indicting Trump because of the fact it would look political. (Trump made it political, I know). Anyway, there were actual arguments inside DOJ about indicting Trump for J6. We also know Trump was being investigated for the documents. When a person announces his/her candidacy, certain laws kick in. When Trump announced his candidacy in November 2022, that triggered Garland's appointment of Jack Smith.
But what does any of this have to do with Oepidus? Well, Trump announced his candidacy specifically because he did NOT want to be indicted. Jack Smith was appointed and investigated J6 for 8 months and the documents case for 7 months. This is important.
Most candidate announce some time between April-July in the year prior to the election year. For example, Trump announced his candidacy in 2015 on June 16.
So what would have happened if Trump had waited 6 months to May of 2023? Let's keep the other facts the same. Jack Smith is appointed and investigates the documents case for 7 months. That would bring us to Dec of 2023. He investigated J6 for 8 months, which would bring us to Jan of 2024. Here's the problem: the DOJ has a rule that says they won't announce any big investigations within 60 days of voting . Comey broke this rule in 2016, announcing he was reopening the email case 10 days before the election. So if Jack Smith was ready with indictments in Dec and Jan, he would not have been allowed to announce them, which would have actually given Trump a pass. So by announcing so early, he actually allowed what he didn't want to happen, to happen. Trump tried to rig the system, and he failed.

She is correct! Health Care is a human right! We went wrong I’d the 1980’s when the decision was implemented to make health care a business. Diabetes, Hypertension, heart disease, cancer, to name a few etc all require nutrition intervention and support but these things are not covered by health insurance for nutrition intervention by Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists.
If not for Obamacare, I would have had to sell my house to pay the hospital bills after my husband died.
I did, because the ACA didn't exist yet.

I wish we had Medicare For All instead of the ACA for profit health insurance, which is a boondoggle for insurance companies. There are a lot of people out there who still can't afford the ACA and don't qualify for subsidies, and Medicare wasn't expanded.

Medicare/Medicaid in many Democratic states was expanded. Many Republican legislatures refused to expand Medicare/Medicaid even though the federal government was footing the bills!

As an Australian, I will never understand why in the USA it is considered an employer's responsibility to provide healthcare. What happens to the unemployed? Health is and should always be a Government responsibility. Otherwise, where is the equity?
Half the United States thinks that being insured is an entitlement. They are trying to get rid of programs for the elderly and low income people. The other half of my country thinks like you.

I wasn’t able to get medical insurance for 10 years. When the ACA passed and went into effect in 2014, I was able to go to Dr. I found out I had diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, among other things. So, I am one of those dredges of society that Obamacare really helped. I am now on Medicare, and Medicaid with Obamacare funds, helps me pay for the premiums. Now they want to cut Medicare & Medicaid, so what then?
I actually don't think Trump is against ACA because of insurance or pharma....it is because it is Obama's signature achievement and he is a black man who made fun of Trump once.

Laws should change to make lawmakers have to buy into the exact same insurance coverages us lowly voters do. But alas, they sit on their thrones with fully-funded health care and not a care in the world, comfortable with stripping us of the only thing that matters...health.
