Carol, that's so wonderful that you sketch with your grandchildren! Fingers crossed that one day I can do that too! I'm glad you found my tips helpful & thank you for the compliment on my artwork.
Great video and will have to check out NYC Urban Sketchers may be cool to join. Be my luck once I do they start doing in person only lol. I never even thought about making my on book like that. I am for sure going to try that out. By the way your watercolor art was gorgeous, I think you nailed it. Looking forward to other videos and I am going to sub for sure. Thank you again.
For now the plan is to continue the online sketch group. As long as we have volunteers to run it (and donations to fund it), we will continue hosting it! Also this week, we finally started in person sketching again! Please let me know if you join & stop and say hello to me. I'll try to make some more videos on my paint process.
Sorry my comment didn’t show. Thank you for tips on sketching with children. I sketch with grandkids. I love your sketch from Saturday’s Hearst Castle.
Great content. Thanks for sharing. I think of bringing filled watercolor brushes mit Liquid Watercolor with me. Only Three or five color. My kid can mix other colours on paper and can learn/experiment with color mixing... maybe this is enjoyable too. Cheers.
This is brilliant. I will definitely have to look into a sketchbook like that for my 13 yr old. Her bag is always way too heavy. She could totally make one of those out of a cereal box just instead of sewing in the pages, rubber bands woohoo.
I'm not sure if a cereal box would provide a strong surface for the cover... but perhaps use an old composition book, take the used paper out, then glue the cereal box to the composition book as a cover, that should provide a surface hard enough to draw on.
@@sarahnoda she makes all kinds of stuff out of cereal boxes. There's a channel here on yt with tutorials Desk organizers, jewelry box with drawers etc. We don't have the composition books your talking about here in Denmark.
@@After40Art That's amazing! I wonder if your cereal boxes in Denmark are a bit sturdier than ours in the USA. If you make one & have Instagram, please tag me in a picture. I'd love to see how it turns out!
@@sarahnoda she glues them together to the thickness she needs with paper over for color. Sometimes covers the outside with cloth. Very crafty. 😊 If she does I'll let you know. But she won't have time until after school gets out. End of yr exams etc.
Hi Bluesky. I purchased these at Dollar Tree in early fall. I don't see the same ones available online, but this portfolio looks very similar and may work: Also, you could consider using an old composition book and remove the paper. www.dollartree.com/iq-black-premium-padfolios-50-pages/332168

Thanks! I’d love a link to the binders you mentioned. Can’t find them on Amazon.
