@@thegusolsen I would agree with that. It comes across in your 'demeaner'. It's said that animals can 'smell fear' and i think it's something like that. If you are calm and settled it has a reassuring effect on them.

One good thing is, not everyone has the balls to go to a woman and tell she looks like she is going to an 8 mile audition. But these might come out a little try hard, so just casually limiting the compliment to two or 3 lines is good. We don't have to explain the compliment

Reiterating what you just said with different words is good at the beginning when girls are a bit shy and might not have even understood what you meant when you first said it. Because asome of them will stay silent in the first 10-15 seconds at which most other guys will just fall back to bad habits (asking a boring question or giving another compliment). So in this case, reiterating your statement and explaining it is doing the job of driving forward the conversation without giving extra validation to the girl
