- I recently picked up a SIGMA fp. This full frame camera is so small and lightweight yet packs so much fun. I paired it with a vintage lens and documented my photowalk along the riverbanks of Tokyo.

Ive got almost 3 years with the FP, and it is still a powerful video beast. And the thing it doesnt get enough attention over is the still images. The stills are as good as the GFX system I used to have. I sold the GFX and will keep the FP until it dies. It's also massively reliable due to not having a mechanical shutter. And that Sigma 45/2.8 "cheap" lens is spectacular!
I've yet to try the video capabilities but am loving the stills! I hope to use it as an everyday carry for many years to come. Thanks for watching!
if it had a good AF system it would get the attention :)
Glad this showed up on my home screen. Love the relaxing vibe and quality pictures. I've always been curious about the FP!
Thanks! It's a great camera I'm really enjoying it.
fp color is just amazingly beautiful
I'm really liking the fp colours too. Thanks for watching!
Gotta dig that lens out of my closet. I love the look and the vignetting adds character.
True! It's something a modern lens can't produce. Thanks for watching!
This camera is on my wish list, mostly because it enables a very minimalist approach to photography which im looking for.
You're right. It's so lightweight and compact yet so capable. Thanks for watching!
Love mine. Pretty fantastic cinema camera too. A grip is pretty cheap and makes it more comfortable to hold.
Was thinking of getting a grip. Thanks for the advice!
It's time to buy that Takumar 55mm f1.8. Lovely images!
It's great value! Thanks for watching!
thank you for this great Video! I am thinking about buying a Sigma Fp and wanted to see it's photography capabilities
Glad it was helpful! It sure is capable for such a small camera. Thanks for watching!
thanks for sharing the location :)
my pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your wonderful video. I have an fp on loan from SIGMA for use with my students and it is a wonderful camera. Your video and included photos are really good. One thing (and apologies in case); If you are Japanese, your English is incredibly accomplished.
I'm curious how you use the camera with your students. Thanks so much for your compliments!
Hello, you have vignette in all the photos, I wonder if it is a problem with the lens or you have added it in editing. Japan is so safe and calm to take photographs that it is a unique experience.I love how that camera treats color. Thanks.
It's because the lens is almost 60 years old :) Thanks for watching!
❤ beautiful photos. May I ask what colour mode did you use for most of the photos here, and did you adjust the settings ?
Thanks! I used Teal & Orange -2 and custom white balance. I'm planning a detailed video about it.
@@KazuoItogaThx. Looks like you didn’t find any problem in shooting under sunlight even without EVF. I have been thinking of this camera since it came out. After seeing your video, I will get a second hand one in my next vacation in Japan. Enjoy your Japan Leica. Excellent craftsmanship.
@123dkwan Definitely have no issues with LCD even in bright daylight. Japan Leica! I like that :)
I have an FP-L which I use in forensic macrophotography using a tripod.
I always considered the FP-L to be a ‘tripod only’ camera. Is this correct?
wow that's a very cool use of an fp-L. I'm sure you can use your fp-L as a handheld snap camera just like I do with my fp.

This weekend I shall try!! 👏👏👏👏
i thought the rolling shutter (coz no mechanical) makes it useless for moving subjects?
Good point! I think it depends a lot on how you frame the subject and its velocity. What do you think of the train photos in the video?
How practical/easy is it to video with the FP and a manual focus lens?
For casual video, really easy. I do it all the time. For serious work I'd rig it with a monitor. Keep in mind no IBIS.
Which filter is used?
Hello! I don't use filters!
Train is pretty similar to Jakarta megapolis train
Cool! Would love to visit and photograph one day.
Amazing content , i would like to collab and create with you in japan some day 😊
That would be cool! Thanks for watching!
how to mount takumar to fp?
you can use an M42 to L adapter like this one www.kfconcept.com/KF06.476-manual-lens-adapter-ring-m42-l.html
@@KazuoItoga got it thanks
Anybody shooting jpegs ? No viewfinder ? Handling looks awkward and unstable. Nice colours though.
Thanks for watching! fp is modular. You can buy a viewfinder. It also shoots 14bit DNGs. It's not a camera for many, especially beginners.
Tsuru Kawa?
Arakawa. Check description for exact locations! Thanks for watching!
