I've been there last 2009-2013,, it was a verry beautiful place!!. I really miss the taro with fried fish🤤.. I missed u my Palau Island and hope to come visit there again ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent info! I love the down-to-earth realness, rather than some Tourism Vid. Thanks for putting this together for those of us who are interested in visiting.
Well, I like it HOT so no problem. I love beaches and mellow people, and I have been blessed with common sense. I will be coming there in near future. Nice video, and if you come to Wisconsin USA you can experience winter or summer. I hope that you both look me up because you seem down to Earth type.
@@LifeWithBrad YW! I haven't been but after watching your video, along with a few others, I would consider it. It's a breathtaking place, especially the crystal blue waters!
How do you feel about the massive wave of tourists coming to palau? Is it effecting the environment and the coral reef in anyway? I know jellyfish lake was affected from all the sunscreen products people were using, but that's what I've heard by word. Is tourist helping palau grow? And how about now? Is covid hurting Palaus tourist industry? How is the environment doing? When will bans be lifted to travel to palau again? Just found you and already the biggest fan of your channel!
Wow! Thanks for the comment. Where to begin? Tourism has been growing in Palau. It is the economic factor that Palau depends on the most. As a child, I used to go fishing with my Dad and we would sell the fishes to the hotels. Goes to show how much of an impact it has had over the years. Covid-19 has pretty much shut the tourism industry since March 2020. There has been no flights in or out of the country, except for the few expatriate flights. Of course we know the less human interaction the better it is for the environment. So once tourists start pouring in, and no one knows when that will happen, there will be a lot of harm done to the Palau environment. Of course the government is trying to minimize that. I'm not sure if you have seen the video on TH-cam about how a jellyfish from the Jellyfish Lake was illegally exported out of Palau and was being sold on a street market.
Hello good sir, Me and my girlfriend are looking to live in Palau. I am currently busy getting my padi master scuba diver trainer certificate so i can give diving tours and lessons. Next to that i would love to do underwater photography. I myself have a dutch nationality (Netherlands) and my girlfriend has a Polish one. My girlfriend is a dentist assistent and will be a dental hygienist in the near future. Do we have a chance to realise this dream of starting a new life and family on this beautiful island?
Hi and hello. I am not qualified to give any financial or investment advices in doing business in Palau. There are a few entrepreneurs that started their own dive shops. The market in Palau are mostly tourists from the nearby Asian countries. There are American and European divers, but it is expensive to travel to Palau. If you have a dedicated line of customers from around the world, you shouldn't have a problem in Palau. Otherwise, you will have to hire divers that can speak Japanese, Mandarin, or Korean. In 2008, there were 30,000 Japanese that visited Palau vs 3000 Europeans. Look up statistics before anything. I must say that Palau is a beautiful place to go diving. There are a lot of places to go like the Blue Corner or German Channel. If you do have the opportunity to visit other islands in Palau, I would suggest Kayangel and Helens Reef. As for your girlfriend, it would be great to have more dentists in Palau. Good luck you.
I've never been to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. One day I will make a visit. As for the job market, one of the major reasons for out migration is jobs. The minimum wage there is $3 USD per hour.
Thank you for the video, very helpful. What is a good way to rent an apartment before you go to Palau if you get a job there? I looked online but couldn't find anything. Do they have something like Craigslist where people list their properties for rent? I can only find vacation rentals. Thanks again!
aliiii!! thank you for the very informative video! i’m planning on moving to palau for a couple months and meet my family. im having trouble on finding information on how lgbt friendly palau is. i’ve read a couple of different articles but they’re all pretty mixed. any opinions?
Alii. It really depends on who you surround yourself with. I can only tell you that Palauans are accepting of different cultures. You will come across a few that will look down on you but don’t let that bother you. Respect and religion is a big trait in Palau. Be respectful towards others and they will respect you too. Good luck and have fun in Palau.
The economy there is mainly on tourism. But there are different jobs there. Keep in mind that the minimum wage is $3 USD per hour. It might be $2.50 per hour. Those working in the tourism industry can make more. Is there a profession you are looking for?
Hello we are planning to go in palau , with my fiance , palau needs visa first? And how is the process? What if i am from Philippines and then my fiance is in united States , how we can get visa from there? I need information about how to go in palau , thank you ,
It depends... there are some for USD $500 or more. There are some for less. Hotels range anywhere in the mid $200's or more each night. Are you looking to visit?
I believe so. Palau and the US has a unique relationship. You can’t buy any land or homes, but you can lease a home or property. $1200 USD a month will be enough for a family of 2 living minimal. At least that’s what I could live off in 2009. Thanks for the comment
Thanks a lot for your great video! I would like to ask you something about the English language on Palau. is the way you guys speak English common in your country or have you been living in the USA and the people usually don't speak that excellent English like you do? Thank you for your answer in advance. Jan (from Germany)
I have been living in the United States for over 20 years. My English has improved a lot. Some Palauans living in Palau have better English than I do, but most speak English well enough. Most Palauans have very heavy accent enough to distinguish that English is not their first language. You can tell when their "v" and "b" are used interchangeably. Thank you for your comment.
@@LifeWithBrad Thank you so much for your reply! I asked for I might be happy to stay one year or longer in Palau and I mean it is very important to understand people and to be able to communicate with them. But anyway, nowadays it is not possible to get in your country, the border is closed isn't it?
Depends on what you want. You can find an apartment for USD $500 a month. Electric can be $100-$200 and food can be pricey. But if you can make it work if you go fishing.
It depends on why you want to be in Palau and for how long. Are you there to enjoy nature? Then no you won't be bored. You won't have your typical night life like movies, but there are a few night clubs that play a lot of local music. It's a matter that depends on you and how you plan your stay. Thanks for the comment.

That's for service, laborer, sales etc. Unless if there is a job recruitment, it would be hard to make more than that. Thanks for the comment
