Last time I was there I was trying to get on the freeway and I got lost in West Philadelphia
I had a little 200w skar ix10 in the corner I was board so I build an enclosure for it to give it to a buddy that had a sealed 10" pioneer compact loaded enclosure, I used skars recommended port size volume and tuning and I when I tested it was actually surprisingly impressed how it sounded and on squat for power I could see some vibration in my rear view., no it wasn't going to crack a windshield but the buddy I gave it to was really impressed the thump from it on fairly new audio control 5 channel (he picked up for a song at $200)
3:10 there's definitely information on a lot of songs below 30hz, i've seen a lot of newer songs hit 20-25hz lows only thing is if you tune low like that you need something to fill the gap in the frequency response
It's not heard, only felt. Not worth the effort on acoustic transducers. Better to use tactile types at that frequency.

It's definitely worth it to me I have a system tuned low and a system tuned at around 34hz, the low tuned one sounds better to me it's just a hell of a lot more power and effort to get it sounding good. but ima just say this. subsonic filters make hip hop music objectively worse. If you can hit the lows then always hit the lows

Rockford fosgate use to have a box building app similar to what your using they also had a wiring app for subs and wire spec's for your vehicle depending on your application. Kicker had a test tone app for sounds sweeps.💯🎶🛠️👍✌️🍻

a group of guys in my town think playing low as possible is the best way to build boxes, its so stupid they can play down to like 10hz but the box rolls off at like 25hz so there is like no loud bass above 25hz... When I build my boxes I want them to be loud and musical and have a good frequency bandwidth 😊

So what I’ve done and worked well when messing around with ports is on the port long wall is cut it diagonally making the low side the end away from the corner. I call it an Angled slot port just know that let’s say you wanted 10 inch normal on that side of port wall I’d make it 20 inches long with the diagonal angle. This makes the frequency range the sub hits hard in larger imo.

@@RobotUnderground yeah I know air space is air space but how air flows is changed is all. I only mention it because the couple times I have tried it the sub still hit lows the same but seemed to hit the upper frequencies little better or those songs with those certain higher baselines.
And I’m not talking about some huge gains or anything crazy but someone like yourself would notice it like did.

They split. Their builder, David Moore went back home to Star, MS and started PSI / Pink Star Industries. Scott sold his half to US Amps and went next door to start Fi Car Audio. US Amps and Mark I assume, still work together today. Mark has China hookups so he may have moved there to coordinate shipments and design work... as well as live a much more lavish lifestyle.

I have tried to tune 2.0 cu-ft net vol enclosure to 33hz using 16 sq-in per cu-ft and it was impossible to get that 33hz tuning using 16 sq-in per cu-ft because the port length was going over 35'' inside the box. Ended up using 12 sq-in per cu-ft the results was good and no port noise.

I have a 15” fi audio neo 4.11, it has a vas of 48.8 liters which according to an online calculator is 1.72 cubic feet but there site recommends 3-5 cubic feet. Should I follow the vas or the mfg recommendations for best sound quality.
3.5 to 4cf is fine. Notice the Fs. What is it?
@@RobotUnderground fs is 33. This is my first neo sub and I wasn’t sure if the rule of thumb with the 16 square inches of port applied or if I need more with the extra motor force. It’s definitely an upgrade from the 15” XFL I had in there.

Every time I try to use the RE box design it always says plug in is not supported and can't seem to find out how to make it work. How do I make this work properly?
Just try to uninstall it and delete it and then download the first copy for me and then go from there

You will need the dosbox program to run the blaubox program on modern windows computers

@@RobotUnderground the dosbox is an emulator to run D.O.S programs, I got it (blaubox) to work .I think it's a neat program.
Also when I use the W×H×D to measure the enclosure it seems to give me a larger size than what I entered,for example if I entered measurements for 4 cubic feet it gives me around 6cubic feet, is it compensating for gross enclosure size ?
@@russellrodriguez8201 The dims are the OUTER dimensions. It's assuming that you're using .75" material.

I accidentally built a enclosure a tad bit smaller than recommended for two fifteens the smallest enclosure is 6 cubic feet my enclosure is 5.85 I notice bye it being smaller it can handle more power

I remember MBE saying you have to build a 2-15 box at certain heights, depths, and what not or it won't sound good. I was laughing because I was doing opposite of what he said on a 15 box at that time and it was pounding between 34hz-44hz. Believe he said the height 'should' at least be 18 inches. Mine was only 16inches high😆
@@Macross580 Yeah, he's dumb. There are lots of old school dummies that think you need to account for standing waves or try and use the Golden Ratio. Air is a fluid. It doesn't care what shape or even size of the enclosure. It only cares about the volume / weight of the air.

I have to teninch Alpine type R Subwoofers, and every time I'm done playing them. I'm getting fiberglass residue in the back of my Jeep. It has a pattern on it like a bunch of dots in sheets of it. I checked the spiders, it's not them. I'm thinking it might be the former. Do you know if they used fiber glass? Formers on those subs third generation. It would help me tremendously. I have them on Facebook marketplace but I don't wanna sell them to no one if they're falling apart. And is there any way I could fix it maybe with? Some cigarettes on the exposed former. I can see maybe I don't know.
