      I am getting six discus what would be the best way of taking them out of their bags and putting them in their new home?👍

    Great video Steve !!! In a couple weeks it s time to do a round of lavamisol worming I’ve never used erythromycin after but I’m going to watch your vid and see your whole process , thx

    • @shelleraquatics

      The erythromycin is used with the praziquantinal and I've been working on the dosages all day, it has been an 18 month journey to Crack the code, I have everything in my head and transferring it to paper has been rough but I just had a major breakthrough so it will be about 2 weeks for it launch. The levamisole is available and was launched about mid March, here is the link if you are interested th-cam.com/video/LxzR-gRXmNg/w-d-xo.html

    I have 1 last question.I have 3 dime size discus,should i keep them separated from my bigger discus until they get bigger?Or they are fine with the big boys?

    • @shelleraquatics

      I would separate. It will be hard for them to compete for food, also there are theories about large discus releasing hormones or growth inhibiting toxins but no proven facts as far as I know. Try to get them to 3.5 inches (head to tail) before introducing them to other fish. They need to eat to grow correctly

    Why are the filters floating?Is that something i need to do?

    • @shelleraquatics

      No, the reason I have the floating is I'm always testing ideas and trying to improve existing products. When running a fishroom we use a single linear piston pump for efficiency. Each drop or airline is more efficient by keeping drops higher using less air. Also for breeding and growing fish I like the bottom clear for easy cleaning so it saves me time. With 35 tanks I'm always trying to be more efficient and save time.

    Is it fine if I keep discus in really hard water we’re talking about 300+? Would this kill the fish ? Or stress it ?

    • @shelleraquatics

      I keep all my Discus in Tap water, even fish from the wild, my tap is 300 ppm and 7.8 - 8.2 pH. I do acclimate my wilds slowly but all domestic discus (tank bred) get put in this hard water. Discus are very hardy cichlids that can take a wide range of conditions. Soft water is strictly for breeding. Don't chase parameters, consistency always is best.

    Do German discus need the high temperatures?

    • @shelleraquatics

      I've never kept the German discus. I believe they are the Schmidt-Focke or Stendker. Most of these strains I believe were original strains so my guess is 82-84 but that is an educated guess because of the time passed from wild stock. Also i remember Bernd Degen
