Oh my goodness. This totally warms my heart, and brings tears to my eyes, as I was a young man of 20 when I first saw The Imperials in person. Still great music with a deep message about our Lord and King....Jesus Christ.
SIR, YOUR DADDY, ALONG WITH THE VERSIONS OF IMPERIALS IN THE 70'S/80'S GAVE SUCH ENCOURAGMENT TO GROW, AND GO FOR JESUS. TRUMPET OF JESUS STILL MAKES ME JOIN IN! LOVED THIS CONCERT.
There are so many "gems" in moments of time for The Imperials. They truly were part of the groundbreaking events in Contemporary Christian Music. Terry and Sherman were great. Russ and Dave were phenomenal. And the axis of The Imperials was Armond and Jim. I remember my first concert as if it were yesterday...and still have the 35mm pics of that night. I went there to hear Russ tear the roof off and was stunned to see a young, blonde haired fellow from Texas walk out in his place. Armond said it was his 3rd night as an Imperial, and so I was introduced to Paul Smith. Lord have mercy, the memories. Thank you, Imperials, for a life well lived and a race well run. Keep on running for another ten years at least!
I remember them in St Louis Missouri at the Keil Opera House. What an awesome experience. I still have all their record albums. Yes records! Need to get them transford to CDS
"Sail on" will forever be jim murray's. He has owned it since the "live at baylor" concert with his "black angus cowbell" back in the 1970's. To me that is the definitive version of this song. And he fills the room with his powerful tenor voice too. When he got up I thought he was walking away, only to see him getting his cowbell and joining in. Great job, Jim! God bless him and all the living members of the imperials, past and present. They have all brought something of their own to the equation. Even Elvis loved them. Jake Hess would be so proud too.
It's been a privilege for me to have been able to see the Imperials live twice in the past. What a blessing they have been to the body of Christ over all these years!! Wonderful group!
My first time hearing the Booth Brothers! I'm so glad they did this I would have never founf them. These guys are very good in unity ,as in the first song but after that toward the end of the second, its like (can distinguish each voice individually) But in Praise The Lord(I love the Imperials) , unity again and better as songs went on.When in unity they sound better than the imperials I couldn't believe it. Worship not just music and in Good Old Gospel Ship it (unity again)can truly bring the power down and thats what it realy is all about,Christ making Himself known, gracing us with His presence.I wish the very best to the Booth Brothers future .Their potential has only begun! He Touched Me was ♡☆☆BEAUTIFUL☆☆♡ The imperials.Dallas Holm,Issacs,Hoppers, keit G reen so many wonderful artist and good memories!
My dad, Jim Murray, still sounds great even after 3 vocal chord surgeries. The Lord has been good to us as a family and good to the group ( also a family ) and I want nothing more than to see the guys singing together again!!!
tnmusicman1 Love your dad and the many Imps songs he blessed. He & they have blessed me for over 3 decades now. So glad to see him singing with David & Armond. Is Paul still singing w/ The Classic Imperials? If memory serves it's Steve (?) w/ them in this concert (& he's a great vocalist, no argument.) :)
You know, for a minute it looked like jim was walking away and i said: oh, oh! But he actually went to get his "black angus cowbell" to get into the song. His "live at baylor university" imperials concert version of this song years ago is to me the definitive version of it. Good job jim! And may God keep blessing the imperials.

I really thought Armond was joking about his age (b. 1932). Well, best to him, Jim and all the guys. Been diggin' their music since almost day 1.

Aqui no Brasil os Imperials são referência. Grandes músicos e homens de Deus. Aleluias do nosso Deus!!!
miss RUSS TAFF...........CONTAGIOUS VOICE AND SMILE
Loved it!
Listen to the trumpet of Jesus!
Where the 'taff? Whoaaa..we need him here, too...to sing his great songs. Miss Taff...lol...meaning Russ himself!
I had no idea Dave Will was from Benton Harbor. Just down the road from me.
All they need is Russ and it would be awesome
