schikuji3997 That’s what I’m wondering. Assuming they aren’t related you could say that in botw the designs for the shrines were inspired by the God tower design from Wind Waker and in WW they say the Gods made the tower not sheikah.
I think it's more like "Hey remember that neat little detail we put into a past game? Let's do it again and see if anyone notices it!" Which is still pretty awesome. It's great how minuscule things people barely notice in one game can be referenced or expanded upon in another over a decade later.
Oh they did but when the Hylians dug them up they ignored this message: "Your free trial has expired, would you like to subscribe to the full version?" If only they had made that second email account

I remember the "voice" of Gohdan when facing him, when he greets Link. Now that these comparisons are brought to light, Gohdan's voice reminds me a LOT of the voice of the monks.
The Tower of the Gods raising itself from the sea is very similar to Hyrule Castle rising in the BOTW 2 trailer. Not to mention they're both in the center of the map. The only difference is that Hyrule Castle is under the tower in the Windwaker.
Might I add: why is it that after a monk gives Link a Spirit Orb, they dissapear in a GREEN particle (akin to the energy holding Ganondorf down in BOTW 2's trailer)?
Well hyrule is siting on a rock with a long path leading to it. Its morre than likely that the tower of the gods is attached to the temple of tome where the master sword now resides. This is similar to breath of the wild where the busted up church is the same or similar distance from hyrule castle. BOTW 2 may be hyrule castle rising up so you can male your way backwards to the great plateau, where underneath lies the temple of time, similarly, we could be going underground to and searching outward to go to the other temples.
Invader Especially since the Zelda Franchise has a distinct habit of deliberately reusing or rearranging or referencing previous themes as Musical Forshadowing. -Tetra’s and Sheik’s Theme? Zelda’s Theme -Aryll’s and Marin’s Ballad of the Windfish? Also based around Zelda’s Theme loosely (and they’re thematically “False Zeldas”) -Groose’s Theme? Ganon’s Theme. (No, really. But not as a red herring-he bears the trademark characteristics of the Gerudo, and shares a certain Defiance of Fate as Ganondorf, and relies both on Brute Strength and Cunning and stacking the odds in his favor (only to get bested by Link). He’s even present for every battle against The Imprisoned/Demise and plays an active role in at least one of the battles moreso than Impa (and his bloodline/soul would make a convenient tether for Demise’s Malice/Curse to punish the Third Party in his defeat). He even spends the first half of the game obsessing over Zelda...although it’s out of lust while Ganon(dorf)’s obsession is not. Thankfully Groose Let’s It Go and respects Zelda’s feelings...which Ganon(dorf) also had a similar respect for Zelda and treated her as a legitimate threat to be contained.) -Kakariko Villages all share similar motifs. (Which can also be heard in Old Kakariko/Hidden Village, BotW Kakariko, and the BotW Main Theme...but it’s much harder. BUT, all of the above are directly tied to the Sheikah...so it’s possible that that isn’t too much of a stretch.) ...and the Game Over theme from Zelda1 is referenced in both Ghirahim’s Theme and in the music playing around the “Sealing” Hand. (One of several reasons why I’m hopeful that the “Seal” is actually connected to Ghirahim. I’ve made waaaayyy too many tangents about the similarities between the Hand and Ghirahim and what Ghirahim would even have to gain from the connection/how he could’ve orchestrated the events/how Ghirahim has the most Skills to revive Demise (and more successfully) out of every previous group to date...including Twinrova in the Oracle Games))
Kayla Abernathy It’s VERY buried, but it’s there. But if you can hear it, it foreshadows So Much plot relevant shit like Oh My WORD is the composer telegraphing. - (I also derp around with eartraining A LOT. Like the colligate ear training drills were a breeze for me...when it was only the intervals, anyway. I had an upperclassmen friend who I hung out with who wanted to make an arrangement of the Disney Narnia score. She had me write out the contour and intervals for her to mess with making actual sheet music for, later. The project kinda got abandoned, but it was WILD having a better Ear even though I kinda flunked out of the Chord Theory portion despite having a few people try to tutor me-it was a bit too little, too late. Also anxiety’s a bastard that can go screw itself...and most of my classmates either had a different learning style or already had a background in Chord Theory whereas I...didn’t.)
Demented Duskull I’d love it if Bongo Bongo (egh...kill that name...) were the Yiga Clan’s failed attempt to revive Demise with collected Malice. I mean...after Calamity? Anything’s possible tbh.
LordNul1 😨😰😱!!! (...that...is so freaking awesome. Tbh I haven’t fought that boss. I’m still stuck in the Forest Temple on my 3DS copy. Honestly I can’t stand OoT’s gameplay and even the port makes me terribly motionsick (and the translated dialogue for the narrative makes me roll my eyes and cringe. Idk. It just...doesn’t live up to the hype for me, and I grew up chomping at the bit to play it. But the only systems I had were the NES, gameboy color, gamecube, bought myself a wii as a teen, and a DS. My 3DS I got used...and haven’t been able to find any of the GBA Zelda titles to try playing on my old DS. Freaking annoying that they NEVER turn up in thrift stores...but I guess that’s testament for even FSA being a halfway decent Zelda despite its criticisms.)

@@VGail85 exactly. Nintendo reportedly has a dev tool that makes porting Wii U games to the Switch super easy. I'm genuinely surprised we haven't seen a Zelda HD collection or something similar yet
It would be really cool if the tests of strength in breath of the wild were replaced with boss fights like the one in the tower of the gods for breath of the wild 2 as there were way too many test of strength shrines in botw1.
@@adeptmystlc9699 I do wish breath of the wild had more bosses, the tests of strength would be a great way to do that. I don't have an inherent issue with them as they are though, the combat is fun enough that i don't mind fighting the same enemies
Exactly! Also, Ancient Robots mine Timeshift Stone in Lanayru province in SS. The original Temple of Time located in Lanayru in SS. Who led the Ancient Robots? Who lived among them? Who worked in the original Temple of Time? Sheikah! Who made Mazaal? Who made the Ocarina of Winds? The Wind Tribe IS the Sheikah tribe! Who served the royal family & was buried in Kakariko graveyard? Sheikah! Also, Sharp & Flat, the composer brothers, served the royal family & were buried in Kakariko graveyard because they are Sheikah! They each hold a baton. 1 of those batons is the Wind Waker! Sun's Song does the same thing as Song Of Passing. Song Of Storms changes the weather like the Ballad Of Gales. Then there is the Ocarina Of Time itself, which looks very similar to the Ocarina Of Winds, & has similar abilities to the Wind Waker, & is confirmed to be made of... Timeshift Stone. The Sheikah always had this tech. The Sheikah made the Ancient Robots, Mazaal, Ocarina of Winds, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Gohdan, and much more... using Timshift Stone (SS), Master Ore (ALBW), & Luminous Stone (BotW)! The 3 Pure Metals.
“Divine beasts may actually be Divine Beasts” Hmm yes, the floor here is made of floor Jokes aside this was an amazing theory. Editing and explanation has gotten soo good
I've always had a strange feeling that Breath of the Wild connected more with The Wind Waker than any other Zelda game. It just... Feels right. The salt item description, the blue Champion's Tunic and Link's Outset outfit, the idea that the Deku Tree saplings spread throughout the Great Sea would eventually connect the islands into a massive landscape, like the Deku Tree himself states... And yes, the HUGE contrast in how technologically advanced the Tower of the Gods is in comparison to ANY other dungeon in the series. Up until BotW of course. It's almost as if BotW was the sequel that TWW always needed (not trying to diss Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks by the way, I really like those games), but countless games released in-between. Also, regarding on the "blue energy" of the Gods that the Sheikah use in their constructs: I've always had this theory (probably other people do as well) that it's just a liquid distilled form of the *Timeshift Stones* from the Lanayru Desert. It's not far-fetched that a stone that alters time could be used to fuel such amazing things such as the shrines or the ancient equipment. Heck, it could work with your theory too! Maybe the Timeshift Stones themselves are crystallized remains of the "Big Bang" or the blue energy that the Goddesses used to create all of existence. A physical form of the "TV static" that we have in real life. Sorry for the long comment.
This. I missed WW when I was a kid and started playing it this summer only to restart again on the Wii U version. I've said numerous time during the play-through, "Man, something about this game makes me think of BotW really hard." I thought maybe it was just the "freedom" until the Tower rises out of the water with those Sheikah designs. Mind blown. And then my mind was even more blown and I have only found one person online mention this on reddit.. When you are in Hyrule Castle and walk out the back door to the bridge, off in the distance is a tower. If you zoom in on the tower it has those very same designs. IMO, it looks like an early Sheikah tower but it is def of their making at the very least. This absolutely floored me. I've watched tons of Zeltik, NBC and various other videos and no one has mentioned this tower. Also the whole vibe of Hyrule when you walk outside, even in that little area, I get a BotW vibe. I also really love how much WW references OoT.
Maybe if Spirit Tracks was never made I could see BoTW in the Adult Timeline, but New Hyrule is too different from BoTW Hyrule for me to see how they could connect. They're not on the same landmass, and they don't even use the Triforce symbol at all, seemingly forgetting about it. Not to mention, the Master Sword and Ganon have both been erased from existance. Idk, I need more convincing.
just played windwaker for the first time recently and noticed this, definitely reminds me of the ancient tech theme in the shrines. nice video man, always look forward to your theories!
There's been signs of ancent tech since A Link to the Past but this was the first game that realy showed yeah someone with alot of knowlage and magic had been doing alot of shit behind the sceens
8:45 I thought something about this blue energy was worth mentioning. In Skyward Sword, the badass scene where Ghirahim and Impa fight after the earth temple, Impa uses a type of blue energy during this fight while telling Zelda to go through the gate of time. Just thought that it's worth taking into account
The music is what baffled me the most. A pretty heavy reference by the composer if nothing else. From a game development perspective this also makes a lot of sense. Judging by the use of color coding in Wind Waker, that is pretty much where it began to be consistent. Blue for knowledge and wisdom was established in OoT (or earlier idk) but that started to translate into blue for technology in WW and stayed that way until now. The Sheika shrines design could merely be a fun reference to the tower of the gods, but given their conceptual similarity it makes alot of sense that this was an intentional connection. BotW has alot of subtle WW references and a similar feel so I wouldn't be surprised.
If the Sheikah are sevents of the gods, despite their many failures, the goddesses/gods still chose them and maybe through Impa's act of serving Zelda from OoT and sealing Bongo Bongo, they were redeemed as a whole, allowing future sheikah to serve like they were chosen to do. In the WW, if the sheikah were involved, they were probably asked to create the tower for the gods, proving they are still loyal, even if Impa did redeem them because maybe that act wasn't good enough, and because that's what a servant would do. They were probably asked to do so by receiving a vision or something through their minds eye. By the time the events of the WW, they seemingly aren't around. They could of recived a vision from a dream OoT Zelda had about Ganondorf's return and the great flood, because she has dreamt of future catastrophes in before. I'd like to think that if the sheikah were told to build the tower by OoT Zelda, it would of been passed down by Impa, because being the only loyal sheikah left in OoT, she couldn't have built anything by herself.
I would love to hear an entire "Shiekah Timeline" video, They do so much in the background every game I can't help but wonder if they Serve or _Control_ everything from the shadows. And with BotW having them so in the "open" I can't help but feel like their wholesome appearances are a deliberate PR move to save face while the Yiga clan exists to ruin their name. I'm not joking when I say you could make an Ancient Aliens episode on why the Shiekah have such amazing understanding of technology thanks to being "servants of the gods". (Cue footage of the Majora's Mask Aliens) If there's already a vid on the matter by you, I hope I find it next time I look.
i remember commenting on the other windwaker shiekah video talking something about how the boss could be related to the shiekah, it's cool seeing this in a video.
I have always thought that Sheikas, somehow got their technology related to Chronolits (from Skyward Sword) and instead of "seeing" the future, they have been able to travel in time (and through the timelines) with those stones (that, btw, have the Sheika eye on them).
Just wanted to say I love your videos, you are the greatest Zelda youtuber I’ve found, all your theories are amazing! I don’t like videos very often but I always end up leaving that blue thumbs up on your vids, every time I get a notification for your videos I click instantly, keep up the good work!
Maybe it's entirely superficial, but Gohdan's hands remind me a lot of the hands from the Twilight Realm in TP. The way they detach from the wall, as well as their general appearance both seem incredibly similar to me. Thought I'd point it out!
I love how you keep drawing more and more connections and support for your argument when the video could be only half as long and still be coherent, but instead you keep going and the full picture comes into view. I was familiar with the Bongo Bongo/Godan connection but you used it perfectly here, and the blue energy of the gods was something I had never noticed before.
What I believe is that the Tower of the Gods WAS built by the gods themselves since it predates even the age of prosperity of the Sheikah, but when the age of prosperity came for the tribe, the Sheikah probably took inspiration of the remnant of the divine tower to make their OWN version of the tech, using ancient pieces of the now defunct tower as a rough "blueprint" to reverse engineer it. which would explain why the shrines all have this divine and almost heavenly music playing, reminiscent of the original holy tower, but the music version for the shrines is more... subtle, less "Holy" and less "God-like" than the original. Because After all... the new sheikah constructs themselves are no longer fully of "divine origins" but rather some sort of an hybrid, with the structure being man-made but still fueled by the very essence of the gods just like the ancient Tower originally was.
@SANS______ Arbiter is also an English word that means "a person who settles a dispute or has ultimate authority in a matter" and is synonymous with Judge
The Tower of the Gods was one of the first things I thought of when we saw the Shrines in BotW. I love how they subtly place these hints for players to connect the dots.
I agree with you, but the similarities between the two bosses is probably a coincidence. Overall, Nintendo is just a huge fan of that kind of boss design. In other Nintendo games, we have Knucklotec, Wham Bam Rock, and Tiki Tong.
This is such a beautiful theory. I think it's very plausible that nintendo intended for there to be sheika influence in the tower of the gods as they had already established them as the ancient race. Then, when creating Breath of The Wild and they realized they wanted to include the sheika as a big part of the game, someone was like "Yanno the whole Tower of The Gods vibe from Windwaker was pretty cool"
I think I can make a connection of Wind Waker with Botw now. Wind Waker had the very original "Shrine Quest." You could say Godam was like the original Maz Koshia. I completely agree with the blue energy and it can't be a coincidence. The constellations as well. Not just that but the Koroks as well since their originally from Wind Waker. I don't fully agree with the Robot and technology connection too too much with the dungeon since it sorta reminds me more of TP's Temple of time. Both have the little guardians that sit and wait for you to approach and they both have the balance scale. Then there's also the beamos. Love this video though!
I've only recently started really watching all these Zelda theory videos. I was worried that I might watch someone trying to really stretch to make a connection and it annoy me since this is my favorite series. But I've absolutely loved everything I've seen so far. Its gotten me really thinking about the games more and wanting to look for all these little details. It also has me wanting to replay WW and TP as its been since they were released that I played them.
As soon as I got the notification I clicked instantly. I love your theories, because unlike a lot of theories, yours are actually well thought out, backed up by good evidence and seem very likely to be true in some way or another. I’m always hyped for these theory videos
The fact that Blue energy symbolizes the Gods' energy could also further prove the fact that the energy being drawn from Ganon is, in fact, what is being used to power the Ancient Flames of the Sheikah Tribe, as the Triforce is a power of the Gods bestowed upon those who deemed themselves worthy of it, or one who stole it, as Ganondorf did with the Triforce of Power back in Ocarina of Time. This theory doesn't just coincide with the Tower of Gods being an ancient shrine to test the Hero's strength and courage, but it further strengthens the theory that Ganondorf being the main source of said energy for Guardians, Shrines and the like in Breath of the Wild.
I could see the tower of gods being used as a reference for shrines, both in canon and in the real world. Maybe some form of beta-shrine, which’s design got polished for ten thousand years.
If Impa was the final sheikah (or at least one of very few remaining), who was around to build the tower of the gods prior to the flood, but after OoT?
The Sheikah of Breath of the Wild are Hylians who have taken up Sheika practices of old. The last blood Sheikah was Impaz from Twilight Princess. Blood Sheikahs have Amber red eyes. New Sheikahs don't.
The Kee Dafunia Shrine in EX Champion Mipha's Song rises from the sea making it look like a smaller version of the Tower of the Gods. Also since Bongo Bongo is hanging with its torso facing up its body looks a lot like the Yiga clans symbol.
I actually would like to believe that some of the games took place in between the 10,000 years of the Sheikah era. I mean who knows how long it took to wield the goddesses energy let alone create machines that run with it. I'm still trying to figure it out but I think it would connect the timeline so much better this way. And Wind Waker is definitely somewhere close to the beginning of that era. Since the Hylians have just been given a trial (The Tower of the Gods) so that the Hero of Time could prove himself in case he returned. Meanwhile, the Sheikah population grows again and study the gods' technology inside the Tower and learn how to make it themselves. I'd like to think that this started the Sheikah era. Basically going along the other generations of the Zelda Timeline.
Seems like people forget about the ancient past in skyward sword, the shiekah had already mastered localized time travel in the form of time shift Crystal's thousands of years before sky loft was even raised into the sky. Hylia essentially gave birth to hylians, you should consider humans to be shiekah , developing technology and advancing architecture where the hylians are descendants of a god, living more virtuously building simple homes and brick castles
commenting again to say this was a wonderfully concise, informative, and fun theory! (as usual, lol). the bit about the sheikah's mind's eye was unexpected, but i loooved it keep it up m8, I love this channel so much!
This got me thinking maybe the reason fierce deity links weapon can kill majora so quickly is that it also uses that same sheikah energy if you look at his blade and the beams it shoots they look pretty close to the color of the sheikahs tech
Most of the theory is good, but the similarity between godhand and bongo bongo is probably just the fact that Nintendo really loves the head+hands design and it's featured in a lot of their games, many being zelda games.
I 've never noticed it until today, but around the Bell's pillars (at 1:39) there's some sort of Sheikah language around it. At (11:47) we can see that the writing on the tower's wall and at (12:38) we can also we can also see some kind of Sheikah writing on the pillars and around the door as well.
Something I noticed in one of your other videos (and is relevant here) is another tie between Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild: in Wind Waker, the top of the tower that acts as the stage of your final fight with Ganondorf looks suspiciously similar to the head of the standard Guardian robots scattered all over Breath of the Wild's Hyrule.
I wonder if Nintendo has just been making connections as it goes along, or if they have been planning EVERYTHING from the beginning, cause the way everything fits together perfectly.
Yeah! That’s the theory I’ve had for years. I didn’t watch it yet but finally someone makes a video. I think I’ve posted it on some of your posts and stuff, so glad it’s happening.
How did it take me so long to realise the lens of truth was made in the image of the Sheika symbol, It was made to be a shortcut to the Sheika's third eye or rather clairvoyance
"Bongo Bongo is one of the most difficult bosses in OoT." Like hell he is. You can kill him in two charges. And there's no need for the lens of truth either. Make sure you have the Big Goron Sword first. The at the boss battle, shot both his hands as normal and then pull out the Big Goron sword and charge the spin attack. You have just enough time to do so before he charges. As soon as his hands pass you on his charge do the spin attack and you'll slam the BG Sword right into his eye. Then to some Jump slashes until he pulls away. Repeat and you'll kill him the second time. IT's very easy.
This Link was actually a decedent of Link from OoT. It outright states that that the Hero's Shield (first in the game) is Link's family heirloom and that it belonged to The Hero of time. Ganondorf also stated that he must be Link's reincarnation, before the final battle.
Reincarnation sure, but he is not a descendant because that would have required Link TOO HAVE SEX before he battles Ganon. The Hero’s Shield is just for ceremony.
He is a descendant of another Hero before the Hero of Time. To be precise, it's the Hero from The Minish Cap. The Hero's Sword is in fact Smith's Sword and the Hero's Shield, the gift from Zelda during the Minish Festival.
'The Legendary Hero' in this game is the Hero of Time. They simply reused the designs in the Minish Cap a few years later because they just liked them. And as for Link procreating...yes. That would require that, there were a lot of girls in OoT and he was human after all.
@@captain_unhinged4372yes, it would. Nintendo knew what they were doing. :) they would not have had that item description otherwise. There were a lot of girls interested in him in that game after all.
Amazing! Great editing! I love your videos because you are so good at creating beatiful compilations that relate so well with your script. Very nice! Thanks for your work.
Now that I'm looking at him and the way he's hanging from the ceiling and what he sorta represents... it reminds me of the hand on Ganon for BOTW2! The thing hanging from the ceiling that's sealing him...
Id like to point out that the symbols on the inner wall of the tower of the gods looks like the symbol of the zoni so this could mean that the zoni were related to the gods or its just an easter egg or reference to wind waker and there are many of the swirl symbols on the out side too so it just might have been built by the zoni and they later they helped the sheika by teaching them the way of building these structures but i also feel that they passed on this technology to the sheika because they knew they were going to go exticnct this is possible as they might have had powers of foresight and calamity ganon might have destroyed their civilisation knowing that they had technology to defeat him i mean its a possibility
I don't know if anyone's already thought of this but just now I realized something- So when you trade with the demon in Hateno Village your hearts can be stored in the statue and are known as 'life essence'. When you complete a shrine, a piece of 'life essence' comes from within the monk and into link in the form of 1/4 of a heart or stamina vessel. I'm wondering if maybe that 1/4 life essence is all that's keeping the monk living, and after giving it to Link, they fade away. This isn't important like at all but I just started thinking about it lol.
Oky.. that excalated quickly.. its not juat sheikah, that blue energy is the divine breath of the gods * -*) and appears all throughout the series and no one realized that :0
God I wish we could just sit and chat about Zelda. I love Zelda lore and own a shelf full of books. It's such a complex and loved history. Love your videos.
The way I see it (assuming the tower and the shrines are actually connected) is that there are two main possibilities: either the tower was literally made by the gods and the shieka later attempted to reverse-engineer the design of the tower on a massive scale for their next hero, *_or_* both structures were built by the Shieka and the Tower of the Gods essentially served as a prototype that was later refined, miniaturised and mass-produced many centuries later in the form of the Shrines. Either one of these possibilities quite neatly explains the similarities and differences between the two structures, and both incidentally also make anunexpectedly strong case for BotW's placement in the Adult Timeline
So just putting this out there. I think you got source and imitation mixed up. I think that the tower of the gods was created by the gods, and the Sheikah copied the design. Even the timeline suggests this by placing BOTW at the end of the timeline. It is supported by everything including the fact that the floating platforms in WW use similar if not the exact same design as the doors to the shrines.
Always love your videos, Zeltik. Not only are they well-researched and thought-out theories, but they're presented as if you're telling a story, using the same grand language of the games' own legends. Such a treat to watch, thank-you!
May I add that the head and hands design for a boss is also seen in the minish cap? The wind fortress boss (I forget his name) is a pyramid like head with hands that you need to shoot at in order to enter the head and attack the weak spot
I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out, but the shrine theme in BOTW has a very distinct bell sound that plays during the entire song. IMO it’s a huge clue referring to the bell atop the tower of the gods since that bell has great significance to WindWakers story. But that’s not all, whenever a sheika monk speaks to link in BOTW you also hear a super distinct bell chime with every segment of text that appears on the screen. It can’t be a coincidence right?
I have no doubt in my mind that these servants of the Goddess constructed this trial for the coming hero. The similarities are too good and too many to ignore. Great work as always, my friend; good to see your work in its intended form.
In 2001:
Developers: “ Why do you want me to put constellations on the walls of the tower?”
Aonuma: “Trust me someone will make a connection one day.”
schikuji3997 That’s what I’m wondering. Assuming they aren’t related you could say that in botw the designs for the shrines were inspired by the God tower design from Wind Waker and in WW they say the Gods made the tower not sheikah.
I love how interconnected this series is, no other like it
I think it's more like "Hey remember that neat little detail we put into a past game? Let's do it again and see if anyone notices it!"

Well hyrule is siting on a rock with a long path leading to it. Its morre than likely that the tower of the gods is attached to the temple of tome where the master sword now resides. This is similar to breath of the wild where the busted up church is the same or similar distance from hyrule castle. BOTW 2 may be hyrule castle rising up so you can male your way backwards to the great plateau, where underneath lies the temple of time, similarly, we could be going underground to and searching outward to go to the other temples.
i would even say the amos in TP are sheikah-made
The music thing basically proved your theory to be true. It is too much a coincidence to me
Invader
Especially since the Zelda Franchise has a distinct habit of deliberately reusing or rearranging or referencing previous themes as Musical Forshadowing.
-Tetra’s and Sheik’s Theme? Zelda’s Theme
-Aryll’s and Marin’s Ballad of the Windfish? Also based around Zelda’s Theme loosely (and they’re thematically “False Zeldas”)
-Groose’s Theme?
Thankfully Groose Let’s It Go and respects Zelda’s feelings...which Ganon(dorf) also had a similar respect for Zelda and treated her as a legitimate threat to be contained.)
-Kakariko Villages all share similar motifs. (Which can also be heard in Old Kakariko/Hidden Village, BotW Kakariko, and the BotW Main Theme...but it’s much harder. BUT, all of the above are directly tied to the Sheikah...so it’s possible that that isn’t too much of a stretch.)
...and the Game Over theme from Zelda1 is referenced in both Ghirahim’s Theme and in the music playing around the “Sealing” Hand.
Seriously?! I couldn't hear a similarity at all

(I also derp around with eartraining A LOT. Like the colligate ear training drills were a breeze for me...when it was only the intervals, anyway. She had me write out the contour and intervals for her to mess with making actual sheet music for, later. The project kinda got abandoned, but it was WILD having a better Ear even though I kinda flunked out of the Chord Theory portion despite having a few people try to tutor me-it was a bit too little, too late.
They’re both cel shaded too. So In a literal sense it is as well haha
@Static Gaming Shhh, let people have their fun.
it seems that they're trying to connect botw to skyward sword hard

8:45 I thought something about this blue energy was worth mentioning. In Skyward Sword, the badass scene where Ghirahim and Impa fight after the earth temple, Impa uses a type of blue energy during this fight while telling Zelda to go through the gate of time. Just thought that it's worth taking into account
I think that's a sort of wisdom energy. Makes sense considering where it's seen, and there being a blue god of wisdom.
never thought about the towers like this which feels pretty cool
0:33 "He stole the wrong kids sister"!!! I got chills from that!
wow I never even realized that Robbie's robot in botw looks like the statues in the tower of the gods. wow
It reminds me of the gossip stones. One incarnation has these strange ears
Zelda music choices are usually pretty deliberate. I'd say this theory is most likely truth.
I agree. BotWs composer did so so many things on purpose its great.
Finally somebody goes over this. There is a definite connection with BoTW Sheikah Technology and the Tower of the Gods!!
Vetriphus Only makes sense since the director recycle stuff and sticks to lore. We are going to see recurring themes
It's pretty obvious who actually made the tower
Our master just Kooloo-Limpah'd it into existence
I REALLY hope wind waker comes to switch some way somehow...
(Cue footage of the Majora's Mask Aliens)
If there's already a vid on the matter by you, I hope I find it next time I look.
@@Lectical Nice, I will look there too, and probably still want Zeltik's read on it all someday lol
i remember commenting on the other windwaker shiekah video talking something about how the boss could be related to the shiekah, it's cool seeing this in a video.
Me: "None of the Zelda games related." (Watches Zeltik) Also Me: "All of the Zelda games are related."
I have always thought that Sheikas, somehow got their technology related to Chronolits (from Skyward Sword) and instead of "seeing" the future, they have been able to travel in time (and through the timelines) with those stones (that, btw, have the Sheika eye on them).
Skyward Sword does have the gate of time so that can be possible
Seems more like the sheikah were inspired by the tower of the gods and made the shrines similar to the tower.

Godan is way more similar to Mazaal in the Fortress of Winds in The Minish Cap which is earlier in the timeline than OOT.
Maybe it's entirely superficial, but Gohdan's hands remind me a lot of the hands from the Twilight Realm in TP. The way they detach from the wall, as well as their general appearance both seem incredibly similar to me. Thought I'd point it out!
When I played WW I noticed that the platform where you ring the bell atop the tower has the Kokiri or Zonai symbol as well.
Gohdan is extremely similar to Mazaal from Minish Cap, and he even has the blue and red energy. Does that mean the wind tribe are sheikans?
I know it's a really old comment, but given the TOTK trailer involving civilizations in the sky, there could very well be a connection.
You always know when to deliver, right now I am currently looking through the history of Zelda OoT (Zelda 64 early on).
Best game of all time no kap
JC Wind Waker is better
I love how you keep drawing more and more connections and support for your argument when the video could be only half as long and still be coherent, but instead you keep going and the full picture comes into view. I was familiar with the Bongo Bongo/Godan connection but you used it perfectly here, and the blue energy of the gods was something I had never noticed before.
This Is What I Subscribed FOR!
Because After all... the new sheikah constructs themselves are no longer fully of "divine origins" but rather some sort of an hybrid, with the structure being man-made but still fueled by the very essence of the gods just like the ancient Tower originally was.
hah, the tower looks like arbiters grounds, plus the boss is nicknamed the great arbiter.
That's Gerudo though
It's implied that there are more but they live in hiding.
The Sheikah of Breath of the Wild are Hylians who have taken up Sheika practices of old. The last blood Sheikah was Impaz from Twilight Princess. Blood Sheikahs have Amber red eyes. New Sheikahs don't.
Sheikah are a group, not a breed. So with 1 sheikah you could train ten, wich could train thousands
@@OfficialEpzilon Nah, they are an ethnicity.

@@GhostWulf70792 They lost their red eyes by matting with Hylians.
Hmm, does this theory link up with the boss Mazaal and the wind tribe in the Minish Cap, the similarities are unmistakable.
aidan kavanagh Only things I remember from that game were figurines, a giant chuchu, and loss of sanity over a final missing type of kin stone.
Basically going along the other generations of the Zelda Timeline.
somegirlfromgermany That didn’t start the sheikah era. Wind Waker takes place after Ocarina of Time and in Ocarina they were mostly extinct already.
@@mrtoxicwasteland Which means it's also possible that despite appearing extinct in OOT, they may have just time jumped tf outa there
Gohdan looks like Mazaal from the Minish Cap, notice the disembodied hands with eyes, and the only parts are the head and the head

I can agree with this because I do remember there being another boss like that from Super Mario 64 in the pyramid.
@@ominousvirus5278 And the one in Mario Odyssey too.
Imagine a 2 for one with Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.
Now I need that
"Bongo Bongo is one of the most difficult bosses in OoT." Like hell he is.
Colleen Crews so true

Now that I'm looking at him and the way he's hanging from the ceiling and what he sorta represents... it reminds me of the hand on Ganon for BOTW2! The thing hanging from the ceiling that's sealing him...
There is so much evidence to back this theory up that it’s probably true.

Actually, and I'm not saying it was aliens, but it was aliens
Everytime I hear a TH-camr say something about a link in the description in a Zelda video, I laugh on the inside.

Calling it now: Zelda Botw 2: _SPACE_
Wait for the Sheikah space suit
Godan also looks like the boss in the Fortress of the wind in the minish cap with 2 floating hands a head thats similar in design.
He was made by the Wind Tribe which must certainly became the Oocca.
Finaly someone who's questioning his theory and one detail he missed in my opinion is the missing of the most important symbol the sheikah eye
There are also similarities with Oocca and Wind Tribe tech from TP and TMC.
Mazaal per exemple.
Always love your videos, Zeltik. Not only are they well-researched and thought-out theories, but they're presented as if you're telling a story, using the same grand language of the games' own legends. Such a treat to watch, thank-you!
That ad transition was almost as smooth as Bellular's ad transitions
Not to mention the tower also has the whole "single eye" motif the sheikah use on everything
Damn, this is one of the coolest Zelda theories I’ve ever seen. There’s no way that this isn’t a coincidence.
May I add that the head and hands design for a boss is also seen in the minish cap? The wind fortress boss (I forget his name) is a pyramid like head with hands that you need to shoot at in order to enter the head and attack the weak spot
What if the Sheikah originally used the Triforce to get all their technological knowledge?
I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out, but the shrine theme in BOTW has a very distinct bell sound that plays during the entire song. IMO it’s a huge clue referring to the bell atop the tower of the gods since that bell has great significance to WindWakers story. But that’s not all, whenever a sheika monk speaks to link in BOTW you also hear a super distinct bell chime with every segment of text that appears on the screen. It can’t be a coincidence right?
Skip add, 3:15
It’s crazy how much you can theorize with this franchise!!!! Best video game franchise ever!!! Love this theory!
I've been waiting for an answer from gohdan!
I have no doubt in my mind that these servants of the Goddess constructed this trial for the coming hero. The similarities are too good and too many to ignore. Great work as always, my friend; good to see your work in its intended form.
