What a great talk. His point about not being proficient straight away with dictation resonated with me. Having an accent, I just assumed dictation wasn't for me when I got poor results, but perhaps I have to persist with it, because I certainly couldn't type as fast as I do now. Hopefully, I will get the same results with dictation.
I really like this talk and I think he makes a lot of good points, I'm not terribly sure how fond I am of the fact that he condescends to the people who claim they can't write but also condescends to the people that do write. In his world if you have too much time you're an idiot and if you don't have enough time you're also an idiot. Kinda hard to find a good middle ground here.
@@hugoleonardoamaral586 Yeah, and the word count difference. I only know this because my partner LOVES reminding me how it was written in 3 days, whilst I’m still writing mine. So, I told him it’s the equivalent of a short story-and needed rewrites. My books are considerably longer. My shortest time is 3 weeks.

My first impression is that he gets most of his endorphins from calling other writers idiots. :/
Writers Block for me is when I’m stuck on “what happens next?” Which is why I now outline.
I’ve written a book in 3 weeks.
BUT according to interviews, Rocky needed SEVERAL rewrites after those 3 days-so it took a lot longer. :)
It's true, but before any rewrites, he needed to write in the first place. Speed is only regarding first drafts

Throw Mama from the Train came out in 1987. I think you're fine.
LOL Wheat farming in Nebraska.
Spoiler alert: he doesn't have any advice, just an impersonation of what Eric Berne used to call The Critical Parent.
