This looks the same as the NES version lol! Might as well shell out a couple more bucks and get you an NES and the original game itself!

The thing you fail to realize is that the NES isn't portable. They released a whole set of NES classic games so people who hadn't had the chance to play them could for the first time and so they were available portably. Alot of people didn't own a NES and parents weren't going to go buy a new console just because their kid wanted Zelda 2. It made alot more sense to buy these that way you could still play the best NES titles and play all the new games coming out at the time. Everyone had a GBA and beyond that the Game Boy Advanced was more likely to start up the game every single unlike an NES which could be very finicky. Alot of people also had a GBA player attachment on their Game Cube so it made alot more sense to own this copy as it allowed for TV and Portable gaming. This game is essentially the same as the original and there were a number of benefits at the time of buying this over the original. I own the NES version but I think the best way to play this now is on a Nintendo Switch because it's in HD, it's portable and you have savestates. The NES Classic is a good Second though which is basicly the same except for the portability part.

@@dextersbeard3472And I'm so glad they did. I played Zelda 1 for the first time that way.

Zelda 2 was the best when my game cartridge was gold. I don't know how it gets better than that. And same with the original zelda game gold cartridge. And besides zelda is better than castle quest because in my opinion castle quest will give you a headache while playing. Both zelda games are worth it.

@@MatthewCox-fd3cf Ya. I made a list of the greatest games ever and to me Zelda 2 Is #1. It's the greatest game ever created. It has everything. Open world, rpg, platformer, fighting, puzzle, adventure. Everything in one game. Plus it's cool as hell.

@lalomontoyajr.9282 my point exactly I remember getting the gold cartridge on nes back in the day. Those days were awesome and I was also hoping to even collect the snes a link to the past cartridge gold edition because I was hoping for it since it came out on the snes console. I guess I'm a zelda fan and I believe that goes with that territory on zelda games.

Link's head look weird in this port 🤔

he certainly looks weird, but also keep in mind that everything but some sprites were compressed to fit on the GBAs screen!

That’s how Link looked in the original. This an 8 bit game from the 80’s. I grew up playing this game back then. Loved the RPG elements of earning experience to level up. 😉

he absolutely does not look the same in this port as he does in the original NES Zelda II. His sprite is squished vertically and he looks taller and thinner compared to the original @@tiffanybatcheller-harris522

@@vxcvxmcrposfdsdfulpdfg i think that's because the recording is in a 4:3 aspect ratio, where on GBA the screen is 3:2 (including this 4:3 nes games adapted to fill the whole gba screen)
