Thank you AJ, straight to the point.
If my case had a sand seal at one point and was switched to a standard pulley can I go back. I have lots of oil around that area and trying to figure what I need to do now since I pulled motor out. Also if anyone knows can fins on heads be bent back, mine look to have been bent at some point and really don't want excess heat if I can avoid.
I have major oil leakage coming out from behind my pulley. I thought installing a sand seal would remedy it. I have the stock pulley with the grooves and it seems that it does a better job throwing oil out than keeping it in
Great vid AJ.
What brand did you used on your bug?
Would empi 9114 pulley same as stock replacement?
Thank you
Just be careful that the thread on the back of the pulley is the same direction as the original. Some cheap knockoffs have thread running the wrong way and it will cause leaking issues.
Hi I have a 76 and just replaced the Crank pulley and now oil leaks out it and recently the bolt came lost while driving and had to get towed home cause the bolt was gone ordered new bolt but still got oil coming out the back of it
going back to a stock pulley , I keep having problems with sand seal 😮💨
Thank you! I've been looking for this exact explanation!
Nicely presented. Answered my exact question.
Thank you for the explanation
Thanks for being informative
Hi AJ, I need to take off my standard pulley of my Beetle, do you have a video of that as well. Thanks so much!
Thank you for watching. I will make a video of the pulley removal.
