    Double thumbs up matey quality video! Had to laugh at the bait boat story..... remember when my Mrs found my RT4 invoice I nearly ended up sleeping in the garden! Good to see you getting plenty of bank time too

    Why do you use a lead link and why is it 4tf long mate ?

    • @DavidScobie
      @DavidScobie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This area is very snaggy a mono lead link or rotten bottom is going to snap should the lead get stuck meaning I lose the lead but keep everything else.
      The legnth of it varies I like a lead link of 3' to 4' I use this on locations where I know that I will lose leads because of snags or zebra mussels.

      @@DavidScobie thanks for the reply dude I do alot of pike fishing in the lake district I usaly use a run ring straight on my main line but I seem to think when you tighten up with a lead link my dead bait will be lying next to my lead is this true ? And how much do you tighten down to you lead link I am going on saterday and i would like to give a lead link a try any advice would be great and would you combine a lager stem to the ring if you are useing a lead link great vids I can say this is one time my recommended videos got it right 👍🏻😁

      @@mrnice8631 I find the lead buries in the silt on the bottom so the pike can't see it but being honest I don't think it makes any difference Pike aren't line shy so I don't think it makes a difference.
      When I cast out I feather the line down once the baits hit the water so I can feel the lead hit the bottom then I tighten up to the lead. I like to have a tight line to the lead as tight as I can get it so any movement on the bait registers at the alarm. Alot of where I fish you have to be sat on top of the rods because your in a snaggy place and you have to hit then bully the Pike To get them away from the snags.

    Ive been using titanium trace wire for about 3 years mate, would never go back to steel. To be honest if you make your own traces titanium is actually easier to work with so you could definitely make your own instead of getting them posted. The only time ive damaged them is in the net (kinked). Ive traces that have had maybe 50 fish on and still going strong. I use a snap lock at the top treble so i can change hooks so i dont have to replace the trace if hooks rust or are damaged. Tight lines mate
