Laurie attacks the floor. She attacks the beam. She's aggressive but has impeccable form at the moment. Is one to watch for the next few years. She's maturing nicely.
I remember watching this live 3 years ago, and I thought 'damn that kid is going to the Olympics' . I was right about something for the first time in my life :')
I love this gymnast! She has finally helped make my point...you can do more to make your non-ballet dance artistic. Everyone was raving about gymnast like Aly Rasiman, and Jordyn on floor, but this gymnast is doing the same style of dance, but with more heart and empahsis are the artistry. She has made it her own. We haven't seen that in a long time.
I agree, yet she gets the gold for her floor :/ the rules need to be changed for floor. I know artistry is subjective, but people can really tell the crap from what's good.
I agree! She was so great there. I was very impressed and I thought she was more deserving of a gold metal with her new routine than the one in 2012. I love it!
LCAmarkymark I'm excited to see more of her this upcoming season! She hasn't competed in so long and she proved she can be in the mix with Team USA and I think that's exactly what Marta wants from her. Aly is pretty much in the same place she was in 2011 as she is in 2015, and there's time for her to polish her stuff up
From the moment I saw this performance, I knew she would be an Olympian. The dance/performance element she brought to this should be a standard for all floor routines!
It was this exact floor exercise that made me fall in love with her. I was watching the livestream of the day 2 juniors, waiting for the senior competition to start, and my heart just attached to her and has not let go since.
Love it! Routines like this should be the norm, not the exception! Step it up choreographers and dance instructors! Not every child will have this much sass, but it doesn't mean everyone should just go through the motions!
Musicality, expression, full body awareness makes for great dance. I want to know who is her choreographer because they need to work at the National Training camps and help all of the girls with their dance. This made me think of Tabitha Yim, who was also a great floor performer. This routine really looks like she is rushing thru her tumbling so she can get back to the choreography. I love it.

Her coach, Maggie Haney, is her choreographer. I always hoped Val Condos Field would be hired as the national team choreographer, but I think Maggie could do just as well.

SHE'S SO AMAZING omg seeing her dance makes me want to dance

Laurie dances as hard a she tumbles, I love it. And Aly's floor is no demonstration of artistry.

Idk if you saw Aly's routine from Jesolo, but personally I really liked it and thought it was a huge improvement artistry wise

Absolutely love her, so much sass. It's early I know, but I hope she's in Rio in 2016
And she was!
Words cannot describe how much I love this routine and her individuality!

So refreshing to see a gymast really attacking her choreography rather than just going through the motions! I love 0:28 - 0:35 in particular!
I really like her!! She's spunky and fiery!!!
...and four years later she has a Gold Medal.....
JZMUSIZZ - and a silver
i love this floor routine she does this so well and i cant wait to see her in the future like foreall i keep watching this
I can't wait to see her in the senior stage

Her dance legit gives me LIFE🤩🤩🤩🤩
Thank goodness there are still unique gymnasts!
Somehow I missed this routine. I love it! The dance after her second pass is unique and so fun!
I love you lauren
Wow she has lots of personality! Seems to be a rare find these days. Definitely a gymnast to keep an eye on!
FINALLY, I've been waiting for a girl with this type of personality to make a splash in women's gymnastics!!!
I remember she became my favorite junior because of this routine! So excited she's an Olympic champion!

I love the way her choreography works perfectly with the music. She reminds me a little of Jason Brown in that way
I would live to see more gymnasts add whip backs to their floor routines ala Kim Zmeskal 1991! I think Laurie could really pull it off.
whip backs don't really give bonus points anymore and are not worth it really
Whip backs give connection value. They are definitely worth it.
@@bluepanther1013 bro that was 7 years ago the code of points is different now
@@Hi-lo7im Whip backs still recieved connection value in 2013. Plenty of gymnasts were doing whips in 2013.
this routine is so good it still makes me emotional. One of the best routines ever.

OBSESSED WITH HER!!!! her dance is amazing!! I keep replaying 0:27 onward hahahaa
love this, love everything about it
She is amazing and explosive. Love her routine and the attitude.
0:33 the girl in the back is like wow then starts filming 😂
I hope the code reflects her artistry. She's fantastic! What a performance!
this may be super early, but i think she could get 2016 rio floor gold.
Ali Webb wow you weren't that far off
The girl really rocks the floor. I'm impressed.
Absolutely no one is ready for this Debbie Allen choreo....
what a routine!

Outstanding! And what is this music? It's perfect for her.

Reminder that she was thirteen in this. Thirteen.

I am actually not a big fan of this style but I do recognize that she does do a good job. I am more of a Liukin style of dance fan.
