I am not able to upload longer than 60 second shorts still. Is there something that we have to do to get it?

It sounds like you’re trying to upload using the Shorts creation tool in the TH-cam app. Instead use the regular video upload option. It should detect the Short and offer you the Shorts upload fields and let you pick a frame for the thumbnail.
They should be extending the tool to 3 minutes sometime early 2025.

My problem with YT is I love long live style videos. And people hate that I guess only watching 2 minutes or less.

There are people that hung out in this stream for 3 hours. The time isn’t the issue. It’s coming up with the right things that people are willing to hang out for.
