This man is smart. He thinks first, then speaks, intelligence. He is listening carefully and absorbing. This is the first reaction video I have seen from him. I found this because I am a lifelong NOFX fan. I will for sure be watching more reactions from this man!

it’s really nice to see someone unfamiliar with this era of punk rock music delving into the work of bad religion and nofx. the band Propagandhi has in depth lyrical content that ought to win poetry awards. the songs “cut into the earth” “supporting caste” “fixed frequencies” and “mate ka ukun rasik an” would be great songs to do a video on.

Stumbled on this channel and always like to see some one who has never heard NOFX get introduced to this song. AS its been said many times, this song is absolute gold, Fat mike is a lyrical genius.
All these years later and the lyrics are still relevant. The song "Lori Meyers" is very short but its a lyrical masterpiece too and even though its so short its a bit of a roller coaster.
And yes, you pronounced it right, its pronounced like No Effects.
Really enjoyed seeing you react to this. As some one who grew up loving punk, I understand that much of it is pretty shitty but its the energy, the lyrics and the feeling of understanding that most of us love about punk but it can be hard to try and explain to people that there really are truly talented musicians in punk and if people can get past the loud guitars and drums and listen to the music for what it is, they would be pleasantly surprised.
Also, this is a controversial take but the older I get the less I tend to believe 1 million are smarter then 1. The madness of crowds is a real thing and its easy to loose sight of reason in crowds. There is a lot of nuance to that comment tho.

Hey man, just subbed. Loved your reaction and analysis of this song. It’s amazing how many topics they touched upon that all affect one another. Also props on the editing, the time-lapses you included behind the green screen were mesmerizing. Was wondering if I could make a song reaction suggestion. It’s called “My Confession” by Otep. Listened to the band all though high school, and their music got me through some dark times, but I didn’t find this particular song until about 2 months ago when I needed it most. Feeling trapped in other peoples’ decisions and not being allowed to make my own, I believe that I didn’t find the song, but it found me. Music, messages, concepts; they seem to find us when we we least expect it and need them most. The song starts off incredibly depressing, but I find it empowering, especially with its final message. Also, it is pronounced “No Effects” haha, thank you for the video 🤘🤘

That line about a dime being worth more in Detroit hits home. I grew up there and decided to get out because my heart and head were getting way too old and degraded for how young I was. I could see my whole future there and it wasn't one I wanted. When I got out I was shocked at how much it costs to live everywhere else. This is not a country for nomads and artists. You need some kind of monetary strategy or you just get constantly kicked in the teeth.

Not gonna lie. Definitely one of the songs that have kept me going over the years. Just that little niggling idea that, "Yeah, somebody else gets how I feel it's all just a downhill slide into ruin." And no, I'm not saying that like the one asshole who desperately wants everyone else to "Get It". I say it like the lonely asshole who keeps hearing things in the back of his mind, like it's all worth nothing, and just has no answers to how to solve the great mess; the lonely asshole that's just very scared and confused and powerless and wants to roll over in bed and hope that it all goes away in the morning, even though it won't.
That's the lonely asshole that _I_ am.

Diving into punk now are you? Welcome! Lots of great music in here, and a lot of misconceptions about it. NOFX is great but I personally don't really like The Decline that much. I like the sarcastic humor side of NOFX. One of my favorite line of all time comes from one of their song, "How did the cat get so fat" (talking about the government). Now have you done The Clash? You have to do The Clash!
