The Humble Crab I reckon 1990 was peak ALL! Allroy saves is an unbelievable album, the song writing abilities of Karl Alvarez and Scott Reynolds are a match made in heaven.
Plus, Stephen was still contributing his zany instrumentals that one of the other guys would tend to pen lyrics for. His songs ("Copping Z's" "Auto Wreck") really defined ALL's early sound as well. They were just so damn unique up until Reynolds quit. 1989 was a really REALLY great year for the band though. I think Allroy's Revenge is the best album of the entire Dents/ALL catalog. It is ALL.
For anyone watching this, the audio is a little bit slowed, so everything sounds about a half-step lower than it should. To fix this, go into the playback speed setting, and click custom. Set it to 1.05, and then everything is back up to the normal speed Edit: This no longer works since youtube changed that. So thanks youtube
Holy shit! I cannot believe you uploaded this. This is (not kidding) one of my favorite all time recordings of a band) . I'm from Davis and this was my 1st exposure to ALL and I flipped out as an 8th grader hearing them on KDVS. Listened to my crappy cassette copy of this til I could digitally copy it many yrs later. Still, Only had 1/2 of the set recorded. When I was 20 I had a show on KDVS and I searched for that Studio A recording. Couldn't find it. Thank you so much for uploading. Is there a way I could get a copy of this? Please PleasePleasePleasePleasePlease
What a fantastic artifact! Thank you so much for sharing it! Does it seem to anyone else that the pitch is a tiny bit off at points, as if the tape is running a little slow? It's appears (to me) to be most noticeable during "Mary"... but maybe I'm just imagining it!
