1:06 So true. I do not sail in winter time due to gloves. For small guy like me, It is so hard on my forearm.

Great video with useful tips. I use in addition the bandit gaiter from ion to protect my neck from the cold. Maybe I only need it because I'm not young any more 😂

I used a drysuit for a couple of winters. Highly recommended! Step in with your thermo underwear and step out dry like nothing happened.
+1 for cutting the gloves. Bought very nice diving gloves in Decathlon for 15 euro. Cut a hole and they work very good.
Have to admit after moving to Portugal items are not used anymore 😁
I have never tried a drysuit but for sure that’s next level!

Thema Schuhe noch erwähnenswert: Atan (nicht Ascan) Mistral und Mistral hot. Superweich, unbedingt eng kaufen, halten aber nicht so lange. Oder welche mit Split Toe. Muss man sich dran gewöhnen, aber haben viel besseren Halt

I apply the same recipies out of the gloves, but I think I don't go as low as you probably do in north Germany 🥶
I don't know ;) I would say with these tips I would feel comfortable until around 0° C
never went below 5 as far as I remember, and I usually don't get out below 8-10 (North of France). Fck'up for some sailings january/february but ok rest of the year :)

Du warst doch ewig nicht im "richtigen" Winter surfen. Schön auf Teneriffa die 20 Grad genießen und dann meinen solche Tipps geben zu können...
Spaß, das mit den Ohren fand ich vor allem sehr wichtig! Bekomme auch schon Probleme.
Da gibt's auch ne gute Alternative zu den Ohrstöpseln: Silicon Kautschuk
Das kann man dann perfekt an sein Ohr anpassen. 👍
Macht sonst auch der Akustiker (der mit den Hörgeräten). Da Gebots auch welche mit Filter drin dann hört man sogar halbwegs was. Aber ca 100€
Also vor zwei Jahren war ich den kompletten Winter in Deutschland surfen! Davon muss ich mich aber immer noch erholen 😜 Stimmt, selber machen mit Silikon Kautschuk habe ich vergessen zu erwähnen!
