Recommendation: upgrade that 64GB eMMC storage because the storage I/O has a tendency to corrupt the game files during gameplay, even if you store the games on the micro SD card. NVMe is definitely the way to go.
Good to know, thank you for that info!
Pretty sure a friend of mine is suffering from the exact same issue, almost suspect there's something wrong with the Deck where when your storage gets too full it just kind of fucks up the whole OS
No shit computers bug out if thete is no more space
Were they running beta or stable?
@@MouseoutoftheHouse they were on beta for the new family share stuff
left for dead 2 my favorite game of all time
I got about the same problem with my 256 gb steam deck where it entered in emergency mode so i did what ypu did and re-imagine and now it works
@@Bi5cuit I'm glad it worked for you as well. Horrible feeling having your deck acting up.
I’ve had this exact same issue twice since joining the Beta testing for the video recording. Thankfully, I’ve been able to fix it by simply doing an initial reset from the boot menu. No reimaging has been needed on my end. But I am never joining the Beta testing phase again. Not worth the hassle. I’m currently back to the Stable version, and my Deck has been running fine. Hopefully it stays that way.
I wish i had a steam deck
Right 😭. Trying my hardest to get one of those refurbished ones 😭😭
SD card was the option I used to reinstall the SteamOS after I upgraded it to 2TB SSD. I used Raspberry Pi Imager tool for Windows.
I had this exact same issue, had to reset it too. Eventually it happened again, this time on stable, but this time it was the update not installing correctly and I fixed that by choosing the "Previous SteamOS" option. Now I just use Windows on my Deck, doesn't brick on me.
@@ItsZedK I may have to give windows on the deck a try. I've yet to have any other issues *fingers crossed* 🤞
Cool video good to know this stuff. Worst case scenario Steam would replace it anyway but good you didn't have to
@@Matt-bp5vy Super glad I didn't have to.
This got me a bit paranoid. What exactly is the cause for this?
Not exactly sure it occurred for me while running Hogwarts legacy default settings and recording at highest settings while on the Beta update.
Мы все через это прошли, для Steam deck это уже дефолт
Reminds me of The psvita bootloop i experienced. It really sucks
if it look me more then 3 to 4 days I would have returned the steam deck, valve is very good with their return policy. (especially if I had to wipe the drive)
Thankfully, it was only an afternoon of troubleshooting. I had a ticket written up but not submitted. I just wanted to do what I could before going that route and losing access to my device 🤙
Get yourself a dock, the jsaux ones are decent.
It would have cut out some of that messing around with the SD card image.
That exact one and their hardshell case are on my short list ❤
This is so scary
@ShadesAwayYT It was at first but after learning how to reimagine I feel confident doing whatever with the deck now.
My Deck bricked completly after updating bios from beta branch. I had to by a bios flash programmer to fix it. I couldn't send it to valve cuz it was bought from hand. Your's one booted in some way. But now i only afraid of hardware falue 😁
I bricked my steam deck with an app from the store and only cure for it was a re-image 😓
Which app?
@@MouseoutoftheHouse “XBplay” I don’t know if it’s fixed but I’m not using it again
It is not bricked if you can simply reimage it.
that takes literally few minutes.
damn thats fucked
It definitely sucked at first. But I learned a little more about my device so all in all it could have been worse.
