I purchased one of these machines. I am a former stick, mig, and stainless welder with about 5 years experience in the past. I used it mainly to weld aluminum. To my surprise it works far better than I expected. I have used Miller, Lincoln and Hobart welders in the past. This little machine is awesome for the home welder and all around metal fabricator. I have tig welded stainless exhaust pipes and made an aluminum Tig welding cart out of aluminum and all went well. If you buy one of these I recommend purchasing the foot pedal made by hitbox. The foot pedal I have has a amp controller on it that is very useful in dialing in the proper amps. The amp controller on the welder itself gets it in the ball park but the foot controller really dials it in better. I also purchased a dual gas regulator so I can purge stainless exhaust tubes. Makes the weld smooth on the inside of the tubes and no porosity. I have also tried the stick welder and it works great using 6013 and 6011! Only problem I found was a small leak in the gas line. Pulled the cover off and found it wasn't screw in tightly. Went through argon pretty quick and after tightening the gas line argon last 3x's longer. I give this machine a huge thumbs up!
@010johnm Thank you sir. I actually need to get out and play around with it some more. Just waiting on some projects. Let us know how you get along with it 👍
Ya I bought it to fab custom stainless/aluminum piping and pie cuts. Also to fab up custom tanks, plumbing, and misc parts. I still need to up my skills on the machine but it should work good for it 👍
Fair play to you youtubing your first go. It's nice to see it from a novice viewpoint. If you haven't already it would be good to see a follow-up as your experience develops
Nice. i'm about to buy one of these, looks great compared to the MiG snot i've been producing with my bosweld cheapo alu mig... Always wanted to give TiG a chance.
Cool video man, thanks for sharing. I just got one of those and I wasn’t sure if it was a good buy or not. Not many videos on these. Keep up the videos and let us know the progress.
Absolutely. Thx for the comment. No not very many videos in English. I was able to get some feedback from the channel Fil Fit HomeMade from Italy I believe and he recommended it. There are several videos from Eastern Europe on the Hzxvogen Hvt250p which is basically the same machine with a different brand. Great machine to learn on. Cheers
Scratch that or high frequency I was thinking about getting the from Eastwood but this does look like a good buy I can pick one up right now brand new someone selling used on the internet for 2:50 is that a deal I just want to do some auto body stuff I usually use mig but I really want to start learning to tig
@themechanicman3865 It's perfect to learn tig on as it does have most typical tig features and adjustments. I can't speak on longevity as I don't use it much. I mainly bought it for the occasional aluminum/SS welding I mite do. Ive used it some for custom SS exhaust and other parts. Ive also used it for aluminum tubing and custom brackets/parts. Most of the time I use mig but it's nice to have both. I do bodywork as well and I mostly use mig. I think it would serve you well. I'm definitely glad I bought it. It's not a heavy duty/heavy use machine so don't expect it to last if you want it for heavy fabrication. I think it's more of a hobbiest type machine. Cheers
I have this welder, had it a few months but only just used it, I was waiting on a pedal and a new table ect, it has allowed me to run 1 bead and now refuses to ark, the pedal shows the amp increasing but nothing is happening... Any ideas?
@@MarcBchannel I have fixed it since, I took the pedal apart and has some loose and bent components, re attached and straightened and now its all working as it should, thanks for the quick response though :)
Dude I have the pedal wondering is there any trick with set up.. it may be faulty but I’ve no control of the amps using the pedal.. it’s kinda working like the button if I touch the pedal it goes straight to 180 amps 🤷🏻
Not sure. I haven't played around with the machine recently. What I recall is that you adjust the max amperage using the knob on the pedal. The amperage adjustment on the machine doesn't do anything while the pedal is plugged in. I don't remember if I verified the pedal amp swing using the readout on the machine or if I measured it with my amp clamp but I know it was working. If yours isn't, maybe your pedal is bad. Let me know. I mite check it out later. Cheers
@kiwibedo It works just not like on other high end machines. On more professional type machines, you set the max amperage on the machine and the pedal operates within that range. On this machine it's all controlled with the pedal. For the money it's okay for a hobby welder
I just plugged the pedal in, set the machine to TIG, and set the amperage by turning the knob on the pedal. If it doesn't work I'd look into the pedal. Mite have a defective one. If your still having problems let me know. Should be able to troubleshoot the pedal somehow. I'd imagine it's kind of a potentiometer. Mite be able to check resistance
Yeah, just have it in 2T and works completely fine with the torch. Plugs in fine and machine knows it's foot pedal as amps stay at 10 on machine but doesn't let me adjust them on pedal.
@lyallcampbell5613 Ya probably bad pedal. They are pretty simple inside. Two wires to the micro switch which should be working since it starts the high frequency circuit and the other 3 to the rheostat/potentiometer. Maybe a wire fell off?
I got one of these off of eBay. Unfortunately it was DOA. I sent it back and re-ordered. I'm hoping it was just a lemon, and not indicative of their line of welders. How has yours been holding up? BTW, thanks for the great video.
Oh no😬 Mine is still going. QC probably isn't going to be the best considering the low price. I wasn't expecting a super robust machine. Just something to kick around and learn tig with. I have other welders for most of my welding needs. I only needed a tig for the occasional aluminum job. Hope you get a good one👍

I’m glad you did this review. Looks like a great machine for turbo intercooler piping.

Hi, just curious, have you bought a Hitbox Tig yet ?

nice video iv been a welder for over 40 years your doing ok try keeping your gas at about 15 and try a bigger ceramic good on you

Hi, have you managed any more welds lately ?
I have the 250dp mig aluminium, going to give it a try first chance I get.

Does it ark with the pedal disconnected using the switch on the torch in 2T or 4T mode?

It s a on/off with a amp boton, so you cant control the 0 to 200 amp whit your foot, it s a garbage

Any idea how to setup the pedal? When I push it down it makes that same noise but no arc starts

I'll keep my fingers crossed. The price is incredible for a machine with all its features, especially for the price I'm paying on eBay.
