Thrifting is great for 2 reasons 1 - it helps the environment by repurposing 2- it makes your decor unique and not like we raided Home Goods like every one else. I love your Chanel!
Hi Linda... Wow you are so so creative in doors & out.. Hubby and I have been married 60yrs now, AND I cannot believe how much I am learning from your gardening tips!! Just brilliant!! We live on the south west coast of Devon UK... I love the trees in pots, especially the box, I have several, also a corner bit of low box hedging.... Love your videos, keep UM coming!!! We are still active in our garden Tgod... But at a much slower pace... Thanks 🙏 for so many ideas in the garden... I get into bed in the evenings, and enjoy your walk about in your gorgeous garden on TH-cam on my large TV.. While resting my back!!! Thanks once again ... xx
You're the only person I've come across who also collects thrifted baskets, bowls, & metal containers. We are kindred spirits! (You're the beautiful, classier one.) I also buy colorful sheets that I prepare & crochet into rag rugs & baskets. Thank you for sharing this -- and your gardening videos, as well!
Dear Linda. Thank you for all these ideas. I have to do thrifting in my house. In my younger years, I would buy baskets, candle holders etc. Never had a vision of where to use them. After seeing your videos, I'm beginning to get ideas as to where and how I can use this stuff, which has been lying around in cupboards for ages. I'm so happy that I can finally find some beautiful ideas . I love all your thrifting stuff. But the pitcher and the wrought iron bowl is really something so lovely and special. Thr wrought iron bowl can be used for autumn, Christmas and spring. Would look lovely. Love every bit of this video.
Linda I realize you and Stewart put in lots of work in making your videos but, they bring so much joy to all. I look forward to each and everyone. I’ve learned so much about gardening from you. I’ve started my own topiary garden and it been lots of fun looking and collecting various pots from nurseries, thrift stores and free from friends. I lost many plants because of the freeze we had here in Texas as many others did too. I’m not giving up but, starting fresh. I’ve found it’s so relaxing to prune and fuss over your plants. I’ve gone nursery to nursery looking for just the perfect plants to form into different shapes. Much love to you and Stewart for all your hard work. It’s much appreciated. I’ve watched several gardening videos but, I think yours is the best. Hugs from Texas.
Oh my goodness! I need to search out your many videos..this one 3 years ago!! And even more pertinent today! I also years ago found an 'elongated' cast iron cachepot in a vintage store, it was $50.00..and I thought wow..way too much and so 'heavy'!! Well after touring the 3 story collection of vintage goods the pot haunted me. I went back..deliberating at the cost and weight. No way I could leave without it. My niece was with me and she 'thankfully' carried it to the car for me, that heavy. It is a treasure! I love arranging flowers for any season in it or just sitting there all by itself! Thank you for all of the great ideas and how we 'happen' to come across items that 'speak' to us along with great suggestions as to how to make them work for you!
Everyone should thrift when they can! Saves money, often unique, can give you a project to let your artistic side out, and most importantly it’s great for the environment!
Jack Jumped over the candlestick.I love thrifting anyone can find new things I love the hunt like finding a treasure. We call it junking whatever you call it I love it.❤️
Jack be Nimble! Used to teach kindergarten! I am so drawn silver these days with that aged patina! I collect old antique napkin holders! They were used in the 1800’s and come in all kinds of shapes. I can’t stop collecting even if I’m in my 60’s. Keeps me young! Love your cache pot....sweet violets would be so pretty and dainty! ♥️♥️♥️
Jack be Nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick!!!! LOVED the video as always. You are such a delight with so much good information. Love, Hugs and Prayers.
Luv your thrifted pieces. I've used Focus Factor ( Costco) for years. Its amazing, I've had an auto immune disease and the memory was my biggest challenge for yrs. This has been such a huge blessing. Enjoy. All Natural. No side affects.
I love your thrifting videos. I grew up thrifting with my mother since the 70's. Now my daughter goes with me. I know minimalism is popular but I love the history and character of old things. I love my items because they bring joy not because I'm materialistic. I am always donating too to create the balance. Thank you for your repurposing ideas and sharing your lovely warm home.
I would use the large heavy iron bowl to keep it running over with the fresh fruit or and vegetables of the season and also nuts sprinkled about. Resting on a sideboard or buffet in the middle with a few sizes of sparkling chrystal to one side. Or even a chrystal lamp with a pewter finial. Or nestled between the lovely topiary on the solid wooden table that has darkened and hardened with time. Drape a wonderful linen tea towel edged at each end with beige french country lace articulated so that a narrow black felt ribbon was woven through it; and then drape the tea towel over one of the handles and on to the edge of the large iron bowl. 🌞
I would use the cast iron piece in my guest bath, filled with the smaller rolled up hand towels. I get my hand towels (wash clothes), one at a time, at the thrift store and have an array of colors. Kind of like a bunch of mismatched colored flowers in a vase! Thanks Linda, love your videos.
Thrifting is therapeutic in nature for me. I grew up thrifting with my mom and sister and watching mother collect her dish patterns. I love the idea of the Easter grass basket!😍
I just told my husband if LV wasn’t great enough to watch she thrifts too.... I wish she lived around the corner! Have a great day, Linda...thank you! Hi Stuart!
Can you imagine being her neighbor 😍 Next trip I make back home to Edmond I’m going to go see her gardens.....if I can find my way around OKC, it’s changed a lot !
I owned a large flea market until 2000, I never felt like it was "thrifting", it was a "treasure hunt". Each purchase brings out the creativity within. I agree 100% with many of the previous comments, as I also don't need to "thrift" but why not reuse, repurpose and bring home something that obviously needs a new home that will bring it back to life and give it ❤️ LOVE ❤️. I wish there was a was to share images. (Or is there a way) 🌺❤️🍷🦋🍀🌸🌻💐
The iron piece could hold so many things. Rolled up old book pages with twine, some pine cones and some twigs and leaves, bathroom with towels and home made earthy home made soaps, kitchen dish towels and fruit. Dinning room napkins, or flowers,, or plant. Put bulbs in them, with moss, throw old spools in it or pool balls. Peace.
I love to thrift, I love bargains. It’s the hunt. I love to repurpose, transform the ugly duckling, into the beautiful swan, even if I don’t need it for myself. I used to have a shop, repurposing, recreating ❤️ gave me a reason to shop!
I have the same black pot but mine is brass and yes it's heavy. I inherited it from my mother and put 3 moss balls in it or at Christmas a few shiny brite ornaments. I love thrifting and repurposing things. It is the thrill of the hunt lol. I love all your ideas and how you used your treasures! Thanks for sharing 😊
What a great video. That red pitcher looks stunning. The colour is very deep. I would never have thought of pairing it with orange flowers. The twin candle holders with the match box storage is amazing. I can imagine how old it is and how it was used in a previous life. About five years ago I purchased a crystal lamp in good working condition from my local Salvation Army for only $40. It’s one of my prized possessions. About a year later I saw an almost exact lamp at an antique store for $285. Like you say - you need regular visits to these venues as sometimes they have a lot of junk - other times I gasp at the beauty of an item I’ve purchased. Thanks again, Linda. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.
Thrifting can also be for the 'thrill of the hunt'; I don't 'need' to thrift either...but that is not the point...I know a lot of people that thrift because they like the thrill of finding something, a good deal, good for the environment to reuse, and because for some things.... one can purchase a 2nd hand vase for 50 cents for a bouquet for a friend/my mom....rather than $10 on a new one at HomeSense... so it just makes good cents... ! literally!
Love your ideas and uses for thrift shop treasures. I totally agree with your philosophy about use it and donate it back for someone else to use. I love the hunt and the wonderful unique finds, with the added benefit of reusing, recycling, repurposing items. 💝
Yeah for the unpolished silver! I have a pitcher just like yours and polished it once! I loved it better tarnished and use it for arrangements, too! I got mine in 1972 as a wedding gift💚
I’ve been thrifting (charity shopping over here in the U.K.) since I was 15 and I’m heading towards 50 now! I couldn’t say how many amazing things I’ve bought over the years but basically I have kitted out my house, garden, family and me and very rarely buy anything new! I was smiling when you said about your ‘go-to’ things you like to buy.....mine are lamps (heavy crystal glass/onyx etc) and large paintings or prints, oh and beautiful throws 😂. Best wishes from the Cotswolds 🧡💚🧡💚🇬🇧
The Wrought Iron pot is a beautiful piece. I would call it more of a Jardiniere as they are usually larger and more rectangular in shape as opposed to a cachepot which is usually round. Any which way that piece on a larger table would look fantastic with a small Japanese Bonsai in it with moss around the base of the plant. Another idea that would be cool as well is at Christmas time put small pine cones in it with sachets of potpourri or loose potpourri and place holly sprigs in it for height. Also with a flower frog placed in the bottom one could make beautiful real or silk flower arrangements with it. A smallish one as a centerpiece for a dining room or outdoor table or a larger arrangement if you were to place on the ground. Thanks so very much for your really interesting ideas. I will have to go ‘shopping’ in my house and put some of these ideas to good use and spruce up my decor in a new way with old things.
Your home is gorgeous inside and out!! I love all of your ideas of your thrift store treasures!! I think I will rewatch these videos before I go thrifting again. 😃
Linda, I love candles also. I love the glass and brass holders. I buy at thrift stores and garage sales. I have been thrifting for all my adult life. What is someone's trash, is another's treasure! Recycle and repurpose always! Would love to show you this week's finds and home made shelves from salvaged lumber from the scrap pile. Amazing. Keep sharing, you inspire me and others!
Thrifting is addictive 😂 I have a few items sitting in my garage that need to be transformed, but I can’t stop thinking 🤔 about going to look 👀 for more
I just started watching your program. And I am even sending the videos to my daughter. You give great information, and I love how your programs are diversified. Thank you, for creating this wonderful program. I enjoy this very much.
Sitting down to watch you and Stuart is a blessing to my day. Went into my local thrift store & found the metal bottom to a beverage urn!! Have a geranium sitting in it now. Think of you every time I look at it!! Hugs to you both!
I use my cloth placemats for placing under items so that they don't scatch the wood! And I love that you can fold up placemat easily, so as not to show if you don't want too!
Oh, I had my eye on your heavy iron #10 object from the time your camera caught it! I absolutely love it! I’d use something simple like an orchid surrounded by moss in it, an amaryllis with tiny interesting rocks surrounding it, Christmas ornaments, grasses, dried flowers, delicate roses with tiny flower fillers, bonsai to name a few... It would be lovely with napkins in it on a sideboard as well.
I love the fact that you love to thrift. I look forward to your videos so much. I would do a flower arrangement in that beautiful thrift fine. Red roses would be awesome in it.
Thank you for sharing your great ideas for your thrift store finds! Love the silver trays leaning against the wall. Even when they aren't in use they still look decorative! The cast iron piece is gorgeous... I think a low, drapey fresh flower arrangement would look nice - or a deep green ivy planted inside a separate container. Really like how Stuart nods the camera when communicating! So fun!
Hi love from. England. Some lovely finds x ❤🌱❤🌱 Our shope in England because of Covid are not open yet. food stores are. 6 can meet outside this weekend. We miss our family and Grandkuds x
Love from india rampur ryasat. Of nawabs. Iam also in habbit of collecting old things. I have so many things. Now I am feeling proud of my this quality. Your vedio es awsome. Presenting is beautiful thanks
I enjoy your vlogs very much but have noticed you need to purchase some candle adhesive to use with your tapered candles, I believe the name is “stick um” and it holds the candle securely in holder 😊
Linda, I just love your house! The beauty and character of it all makes my heart sing! So many interesting details ❤️! You are always so cute and fashionable in your videos. xx laura
It takes endless talent to thrift and make it look like you do. I never would have picked up that red pitcher-but, WOW, with the orange roses! Stunning and perfect for late winter-we need some color!! Love the jeueje, however it’s spelled!
I love all your thrifthing videos. I too enjoy browsing thrift stores but sometimes don’t know what to do with what I’ve brought home, so watching your videos gives me great ideas.
I love the new piece you got to put your casseroles and it is super cute I love the finish of it in the colors they’re beautiful tested but still playing with any set up
I love rotating my thrift finds depending on the Season. I find that, during Winter I like to display a lot more then during the Summer. The nice thing is most thrift things don’t cost a lot so it’s easier to donate for someone else to enjoy them. I love your videos and ideas, thank you for sharing.
The black metal pot could be placed in your guest room with an assortment of small unique books, or at Christmas to hold cards you receive. I like to save beautiful cards from year to year.
Was a great Easter basket you decorated for spring I loved how you plan of the grass in there and how beautiful everything up all my gosh you do such a great job with everything we do hugs and kisses from grandma
I love taking a candle on trips, for a bit of candle light with a glass of wine in the hotel or in the bathroom until bedtime and I like one that helps make the room smell nice too.
I have a silver-plate pitcher very similar to yours, Linda, that I bought at a local thrift shop - I keep it by my stove and use it to hold my kitchen tools such as spatula, tongs, wooden spoons. I like the contrast of the (formal) pitcher with my (informal) rustic bread/cutting boards.
I think I just need to go more often and eventually I’ll find some pieces I like. The one by my house does not have that many nice things but they have pretty nice baskets. I think that’s another thing I need to start seeing what each one of these places carry and what they specialize in that I do like and could use. Then I’ve been to other places where they have no say nothing I want. And all the really good ones have been closed because of Covid here but either but I’m sure they’ll be opening up soon and when they do eyeshadow be tons of beautiful things for me to enjoy. Thank you for encouraging me to get out there more
I use unique bowls like #10 around my hair and makeup 💄 table to hold my things there! Also holding snack items and small water bottles in my guest rooms
Stewart is so fortunate to live in such style!
Thrifting is great for 2 reasons 1 - it helps the environment by repurposing 2- it makes your decor unique and not like we raided Home Goods like every one else. I love your Chanel!
Jack be nimble jack be quick. Jack jumped over the candle stick!
And many thrift/resale shops are affiliated with a charity so you’re actually making a donation when you purchase from them.

"well, first of all, never assume that someone doesn't have to thrift"
honestly, that comment alone earned this video the like.
Loved that too. Shopping is fun but finding such a great deal thrifting is thrilling!
LOL LOL! Oh lord yes! So much fun!
I absolutely love to thrift! It is the thrill of the hunt!
It is also so much fun, rewarding and good for Mother Earth!!!!
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick. Jack jumped over the candlestick. He jumped so high he touched the sky and didn’t come back til the 4th of July!! 😬😉

Using practically and/or repurposing. Thinking outside the box. What a very enjoyable video Linda. Thank you.

Jack be Nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick!!!! LOVED the video as always. You are such a delight with so much good information. Love, Hugs and Prayers.
I think a bonsai tree would look amazing in the cast iron piece.
Love that red pitcher!!! Yes.
Luv your thrifted pieces. I've used Focus Factor ( Costco) for years. Its amazing, I've had an auto immune disease and the memory was my biggest challenge for yrs. This has been such a huge blessing. Enjoy. All Natural. No side affects.

I'm dying for the pitcher!!!
White snowdrops would look lovely
Wow, nice to hear your one of 19 kids. I am number 12 of 15. I have a twin sister. Beautiful flower arrangement.
I also thought about hand towel storage.
Thrifting is therapeutic in nature for me. I grew up thrifting with my mom and sister and watching mother collect her dish patterns. I love the idea of the Easter grass basket!😍
What happy memories, Diane!
I just told my husband if LV wasn’t great enough to watch she thrifts too.... I wish she lived around the corner! Have a great day, Linda...thank you! Hi Stuart!
If you’re ever in the area come by and see the garden!
Can you imagine being her neighbor 😍
Next trip I make back home to Edmond I’m going to go see her gardens.....if I can find my way around OKC, it’s changed a lot !
I knew I wasn’t the only one with an affection for vintage maps🙏🏼 and I’m so pleased I share it with Linda my spirit animal🥰🤗
Absolutely!
I owned a large flea market until 2000, I never felt like it was "thrifting", it was a "treasure hunt". Each purchase brings out the creativity within. Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candle stick. Love you Linda. Multi talented lady. Tfs cheers
👏👏👏👏👏
I love to thrift, I love bargains. It’s the hunt. I love to repurpose, transform the ugly duckling, into the beautiful swan, even if I don’t need it for myself. I used to have a shop, repurposing, recreating ❤️ gave me a reason to shop!
I think it would look cute to display colored easter eggs!
The arrangement is beautiful. The pitcher sets it off.
Hush , Linda. Your giving all the good sources away.
I’ve been waiting for Stuart to respond by nodding the camera. . . Thank you, Stuart♥️
I have the same black pot but mine is brass and yes it's heavy. I inherited it from my mother and put 3 moss balls in it or at Christmas a few shiny brite ornaments. I absolutely love all my silver pitchers and all as well!! We’re of the same era!! Absolutely live the ice bucket!!
Love how this all turned out with the grass you planted in the basket super cute you did a great job
What a great video. That red pitcher looks stunning. The colour is very deep. I would never have thought of pairing it with orange flowers. I couldn’t agree more!
Amen!!
At Christmas time I would fill the cache pot with antique looking mercury glass ornaments. Loved to see how you use these thrifted items in your home.
Love your ideas and uses for thrift shop treasures. I totally agree with your philosophy about use it and donate it back for someone else to use. I love the hunt and the wonderful unique finds, with the added benefit of reusing, recycling, repurposing items. 💝
Exactly!
Beautuful....candle sticks...yes so fn ..i do things like that..wheni travel i take along some practical whimsey...for my motel room
I love your thirty comment ♥ I do it just for the thrill of the hunt! I just did some yesterday! I wanted to even out my basket wall!
Yeah for the unpolished silver! I have a pitcher just like yours and polished it once! I loved it better tarnished and use it for arrangements, too! I got mine in 1972 as a wedding gift💚
Yes!!!! I would love if you could do a full home tour !! Just beautiful!!
Me too..l love to go to charity shops.. is a form of treasure hunting...so rewarding.
Thank you Linda x the video ,very inspiring🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

Super ideas all!
What an amazing silver cashe pot. I’d put tiny spring bulbs and moss.
Great Finds Linda, the Roses ECT look Fabulous in that Red Container..
Thank you dear!
I would mound that last iron pot up with moss for Easter 🐇🐣💚
Your home is gorgeous inside and out!! I love all of your ideas of your thrift store treasures!! I think I will rewatch these videos before I go thrifting again. 😃
I always get excited about your Thrifting Presentations! Thank you for the inspiration, Linda.
Linda, I love candles also. I love the glass and brass holders. I buy at thrift stores and garage sales. I have been thrifting for all my adult life. What is someone's trash, is another's treasure! Thrifting is addictive 😂
I have a few items sitting in my garage that need to be transformed, but I can’t stop thinking 🤔 about going to look 👀 for more
Lol!
I love thrifting and I have at times felt like a bit of a hoarder but I am also a huge donater to my area thrift stores. So, I guess it all evens out.
That’s my theory too!
Agree with your comment about frequent visits being key to finding great treasures!
Jack be Nibble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick. Your iron cache pot...I have 2 concrete versions and have African violets in.
Nimble not nibble 😂😂🙏🙏
LINDA I JUST LOVE 💕 THAT POT I THOUGHT ABOUT, IT WHAT ABOUT PUTTING GREEN VELVET MOSS AND SUCCULENTS IN IT ETC.
😍😍😍
I agree.
I just started watching your program. And I am even sending the videos to my daughter. You give great information, and I love how your programs are diversified. Thank you, for creating this wonderful program. I enjoy this very much.
How kind of you to say!
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick Jack jumped over the candlestick!
Yes!
Sitting down to watch you and Stuart is a blessing to my day. Went into my local thrift store & found the metal bottom to a beverage urn!! Have a geranium sitting in it now. Think of you every time I look at it!! Hugs to you both!
Thanks Sweetie!
Jack be nimble.....Jack be quick
I use my cloth placemats for placing under items so that they don't scatch the wood! And I love that you can fold up placemat easily, so as not to show if you don't want too!
Use that cast iron piece for 3 condiments in separate bowls or 3 plants or again use a glass etc for forks spoons and knives
I love thrifting! I thrift to support collections and even start new ones!
I would use the cache pot as a candy dish. Individually wrapped candies might be best.
Cache pot so cool....id put my french milled soaps. In it in bath....!! Or cosmetics....!!
I have a new appreciation for tarnished silver! I would use the cache pot for some orchids.
Those are great thrifted finds! It also helps when you have good taste so that one doesn't bring home "junk," or items that won't get used.
I think paperwhites in the iron pot would look lovely...
I have done that before, and indeed they were beautiful!
I’d definitely put forced bulbs (daffodils?) with some moss over them. It is lovely!
Jack B Nimble. Jack be quick.
Thank you Nelda!

Running through town with candle stick
Love from india rampur ryasat. Of nawabs. Iam also in habbit of collecting old things. I have so many things. Now I am feeling proud of my this quality. Your vedio es awsome. Presenting is beautiful thanks
I enjoy your vlogs very much but have noticed you need to purchase some candle adhesive to use with your tapered candles, I believe the name is “stick um” and it holds the candle securely in holder 😊
Linda,
I just love your house! The beauty and character of it all makes my heart sing! So many interesting details ❤️! You are always so cute and fashionable in your videos. xx laura
Thank you dear !
It takes endless talent to thrift and make it look like you do. I never would have picked up that red pitcher-but, WOW, with the orange roses! Stunning and perfect for late winter-we need some color!! Love the jeueje, however it’s spelled!
Lol!
I love all your thrifthing videos. I too enjoy browsing thrift stores but sometimes don’t know what to do with what I’ve brought home, so watching your videos gives me great ideas.
I’ll put my small cross stitched pillows in that iron cache pot
I can see a bunch of lemons in that black iron pot!
I love the new piece you got to put your casseroles and it is super cute I love the finish of it in the colors they’re beautiful tested but still playing with any set up
I found 2 silver trays today at goodwill , tarnished and I love the color and style for 2 bucks each
Score!!
I love rotating my thrift finds depending on the Season. I find that, during Winter I like to display a lot more then during the Summer. The nice thing is most thrift things don’t cost a lot so it’s easier to donate for someone else to enjoy them. I love your videos and ideas, thank you for sharing.
I use the same rule! One thing in, one thing out
What amazing creativity!
#10 I’d give it to Stuart to use on his bedside table to use for pocket change, wallet, watch etc
Some wonderful finds! I would put orchids in the cache pot! Perfect for spring.
I love taking a candle on trips, for a bit of candle light with a glass of wine in the hotel or in the bathroom until bedtime and I like one that helps make the room smell nice too.
I would use that last beauty for a cluster of succulents or at Christmas some beautiful antique ornaments.
