Oh Linda I Love everything you got. That long basket is something i have never seen before. I think I would use it for real flower arrangements so people could take a fresh bouquet home. Of course I would use those forced bulbs.vase and put some greens in with them.I LOVE that strainer you found and our flowers look so Beautiful in it. I think I would use it as a center piece with a towel hanging over the side with a box of pasta , jar of sauce and some kind of bread with a few utensils for a pasta dinner.Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and Stewart and have a Blessed Evening and Stay Safe my dear Friends. 🌷🐇🐤🌷🌹🐤🌷

I use those sweet little hyacinth jars for house plant propagation cuttings.

  • @anaitam1357
    @anaitam1357 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Those jars could be turned into lanterns, Dollar Tree LED tea lights, or their solar garden stake lights whose tops come off would fit nicely in those jars and would look awesome to light up an evening garden

I would use the rabbit place card holders to label food at a spring buffet, or baby shower.

As always, thank you for the great garden ideas for thrifted items, Linda! You asked for our ideas... here's one for a tablescape I once put together for an evening party buffet: stretch a set of white twinkle lights (borrowed from my Christmas decorations) across a table in a random pattern; cover with light fabric (I had used a set of unneeded sheer curtains we had taken down); fasten the extra draped fabric under the table with masking tape so no one can see it; then set your buffet on top of the fabric moving the twinkle lights as needed. With the room lights turned down low, the table just glowed and looked beautiful! This might not work for an Easter brunch but perhaps for a spring evening get-together. 😊🐰🌷

The hyacinth jars are great for gifting bouquets of herbs from my garden. A good way to trim the mint and pinch the basil back then share at least one sprig of all I have and maybe a small flower.

I am so thrilled to have found your channel. You are so fun and so sweet. It makes me happy to see a young me loving to thrift and garden. I still adore my garden but it’s not the same having someone else do it. Your garden is an absolute gem. I’ve loved flowers since before I could talk. i'm planning to use the 'basket of Easter grass' for the grandchildren to make their own fairy land. Give them a selection of dollar store items; gnomes, little flowers, butterflies, etc., to place in their fairy land and build it up themselves. They can leave it at grandma's to put under a tree or in the garden or they can take it home to enjoy. Love your channel!

I wish I could send you a photo of some things I have in my garden. One is an old coal bucket, one is a hook with a watering can with beads coming off of it to look like water. I love whimsical things spread out to give interest. I'm glad I found you.

One of my favourite thing to do is to go thrifting!! Can’t wait for restrictions to lift and planting weather here in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦. I think you could very nicely put water (possibly Easter coloured) in the bulb forcing vases and float candles in them for Easter dinner! I was able to get a brass pillar candle stand at an antique market a few weeks ago and can’t wait to use it. Thanks Linda for your great ideas. I think we might be kindred spirits - in the garden 🌱😉💖

An avid thrifter here and I’ve collected many well loved items for my garden. I usually buy plant stands, baskets and old pots. My favorites were the cast concrete bunny and iron pagoda that I found for less than $10.00 each that have special places in my garden. So fun to come up with different uses for other people’s cast offs. I love the baguette basket and I can see it also with fruits, or even small pots of flowers. You could also place small dishes of olives, nuts and cheese cubes in between the slices of bread. I use a large white ceramic pot that I found at a thrift store for storing toilet paper in my powder room. I also pick up silver plate trays to display items and place under pots. Thanks again for some great ideas!

Love all of these. Great ideas. I use thrifted baskets, planters, everything you have shown here and make easter baskets out of them with grass , but I individualize them for each person with dollar store items or thrifted teacup for the girls, and some other thrifted item (small) for the boys, along with anything else (these are adult children (18-26 - almost getting too old for even these but I can't help myself) - I pick a color scheme and use wire ribbon on various items to tie in the overall look. Baskets/wire ribbon are my go to's for easter.

My husband and I went to visit some friends in Cleveland OH and we had a trash pickin' day because at that time, Cleveland put out a schedule of large item pick-up for different sections of the city, so those days became the days that scavengers like us would go pick through the stuff left on the curb for trash pick-up. We came home with so much good stuff that people were throwing away -- stuff I would have paid for in a Savers thrift store.

Hyacinth vases: using a super duper adhesive I would try punching out their bottoms (a tricky biz, but doable) and stacking them to whatever height to make a lamp base. It could be a garden lamp. Don't know if they make solar lamp kits. You could add some fun beads on wire to camouflage the junctions between the vases if they come out funky and uneven. If there is a diaphanous waterproof spray paint, I would spray each vase a different color and place them on broken stalks of oakleaf hydrangea. I do that with different colored wine bottles and thrifted colored vases and it really makes a statement during the winter when my shrubs are bare.

I have 2 copper strainers and they make great hanging bird feeders since my wooden ones have been chewed through by squirrels. I have found the critters sitting among the sunflower seeds and having their own picnic.

Linda love love love your vids. An idea to use you baguette basket is place tea lights or string of mini lights in it. BTW love thrifting myself. TFS learning so much from you...blessings.

The long basket would make a nice succulent arrangement and can be put as a center piece at your dining table...

I recently found your videos on TH-cam and I'm hooked. I love your garden especially the trees.....and I and I'm sure others would love a tour of your garden/yard with names of plants and trees and why you chose them. If you have already done this I would love the link. Thank you so much..... You have combined two of my favorite things..... Thrifting and gardening. Love your channel.

And just as I completed my comment, your March garden tour came up as the next video. Thank you. 🥰

I am new to your channel. I love your garden and the fact that you thrift. I have been working on my garden since I bought my house. I love the English garden look. I love the long baguette basket! I would use it just like you said. Get finds!

You could fill the basket with nuts and nutcrackers. Or nuts and fruit
