It’s not venom or poison it’s a bacteria that grows in the center grove and barbs. Hydrogen peroxide will kill a lot of it. You always need to carry hydrogen peroxide with you when wade fishing because in some places in the summer there is a bacteria that can get in small cuts and cause serious infections but you can spray H.P.. on any cuts etc. and kill it.

I’ve been stung once by a mild one and the venom on most isn’t lethal but it causes such intense pain your going to want to go to the hospital
