its not lost, just search 'lego wars 1980', it will come right up i tried linking to it, but my comments are hidden.. wtf (maybe i can comment without the link?)
By the fact that this was created by actual kids not adults two danish cousins that are 10 and 12 created the beginning of Lego movies it’s a masterpiece
for a 10 and 12 years old kid in 1970s! and the minifigures it self weren't created by the legi company! this is a marvelous creation! the danish should be proud!
Actually he is right, the only stopmotion parts were the credits, the shot with the millennium falcon, and the shot where the top of the office flies away. The rest was just really, really, well done digital animation.
After lars shown this at the anniversary of his grandparents wedding, godtfred christiansen, owner and ceo of lego was impressed, asked for a copy and gave them the biggest lego set of the year, a tour of the factory and free tickets to legoland
Just as Neil Armstrong was the first to walk on the moon, the two cousins who made thsi for their grandparents are the first to make a stop motion film with Legos.
Woah! I wonder: Did the actual kids who made this post this on youtube? If so, that would be AWESOME! I would be fun getting to know the first lego stop motion creators.
Very nice video, and very talented boys (and girl). Back in 1972 I was 11 and built a Saturn V rocket in LEGO (about 1 meter high), incldung the lander module. However, making a film was out of scope for me ...
This is simple yet lovely and such an incredible piece of formerly unknown LEGO moviemaking history. I also feel that this is perhaps of better quality and plot than some modern fan made LEGO films. By the way, did you end up producing any more LEGO stop animations/motion films?
Wow this is so so good who ever made this if your out there just so you know you've stared everyone's Lego how tos/films I even think you started the Lego movie coming Feb 7 2014
Before minifigures this came out. That means he had to be creative enough to create his own little people. Good job.
There were two people making this :/

This was the beginning of brickfilming. So inspiring.
Until The Lego Movie was a full length theatrical brick film
@@abrahamdavidcortina923 That was cgi.
@@historyarmyproductions , it still would not exist without this film, so shut your pie hole!
One small step for a brick, one giant leap for brickkind.

Absolute classic. If there was a brickfilm hall of fame, this would be the first portrait.
2:34 wow, those practical effects! Didn't expect to see stuff like that in the first ever brickfilm
How'd those bricks not melt from the sparkler?!
and they did that in 1 take?
I think that theese effects are better than of today
@@cuatesdanteyuli8516there not effects they actually used fire aka using a sparkler
And here I am thinking the first brickfilm was the magic portal, but all along it was this.
I think this was the second and the first is lego wars which is lost...
Me too.
This was the first brick film, then another on came in '79.

Yes. He is the 10-year-old (Henrik). :) It's so crazy and weird...

I love this movie so much!! such an inspiration
I have 1970`s lego! Wow! If it wasnt for En resje til Månen we wouldnt have The LEGO movie or brickfilms them self! This is history!
I'm sure eventually someone would get the idea to make a stopmotion lego short, but yeah, this is history.

Making stop motion videos with LEGO toys?
Pft, that will never catch on.
It's funny that 41 years later a feature length Lego Movie would come out using this technique of film making....
Lundmunchkins2000TV Haha, yeah.
The LEGO Movie is entirely CGI... not stop motion.....
No they used CGI for some things like waves and lava, while Minifigures and sets were stop motion.
Actually he is right, the only stopmotion parts were the credits, the shot with the millennium falcon, and the shot where the top of the office flies away. The rest was just really, really, well done digital animation.
Wonderful. Especially as I recognise the old style Lego pieces I used as a small child in the 70s.
50 YEARS! Thats awesome! I cant wait for another 50!
Happy 50th anniversary, Journey to the Moon. 🚀🌕❤️
The start of all stop-motion Lego videos. Forever cornated as the very first brickfilm.

And that’s how to be nice to ur customers
Thank you, Mr. Hassing, for uploading the genesis of what was to become an art form. Salute.
The dawn of brickfilming. 50 years later still a masterpiece!
Wow, the fact they made it when they were so young just blows my mind
you guys made history, this shall be exposed in a museum
this is actually tue first lego stop motion made on the intire planet
So I guess my first two questions are:
1. What took you so long to put this on TH-cam?
2. Why doesn't this have more views?
You have to be a fuckin troll
+SoocieSoocie Now I'm not. These are valid questions.
1. This was filmed with super 8.
2. The magic portal has got the false fame...
+SoocieSoocie Ok then. Thank you.

the moon rocket was suprisingly accurate.
This is so impressive Lars. The very first brickfilm. My first brickfilm was made in like 2019. Your 1973 "En rejse til månen" is a legend.
