Trading in Pokemon Go is stupid. You need like millions of stardust to trade Legendary pokemons. I hope this game doesn't end up like it because the T in TCG stands for TRADING.
I really doubt we can even trade current set when trading introduced ngl. Prob even limited to EX rarity and below. My feeling is they will make trade available only for genesis apex booster set (when new booster already available in late Jan lol), and only allow u to trade EX rarity or below cards, that u already have over 2 copies of. Hopefully it's better but I have my doubts.

@PunishedFred I don't use it for anything else🤷 the flair is kind of lacking, you only see it the split second the card drops, and you have to re-apply it for every deck. Also, I only need 3 base EX, with over 50k stardust.
I bet some rarity from same box or same box selection. So ex for ex. If you need 3 of a card to trade, as they assumed, meaning both need 3 of a regular ex to trade each other.

They have already made money. In just 17 days pokemon tcg has had an income of 100 million dollars. And on November 17 they already reached 120 million dollars, today, November 20, they must be at 150 million dollars. It has been the greatest success. And they want more money? They should start giving 2 or 3 free packets daily

They won't let us trade from the new sets. This is DeNA, whoever is familiar with them, know they're not really f2p friendly. It's all about the money, and the Pokémon IP alone generates alot of interest. For instance, look at all the milestones this game has hit, there's not a single appreciate gift, not even a single pack. Why? They fully expected the game to do well and for people to be addicted and shell out 1000s of dollars, because it's Pokémon, and the game was designed to be addicting/predatory. I'm surprised they put a spending limit, maybe out of necessity because they know kids will steal their parents cards and splur. But I digress.
DeNa sucks. I hate how some youtubers are glorifying TCG Pocket as "F2P". It's not. Whales will eat F2P players and that is the main purpose F2P players will serve.
I actually liked a lot the way PTCG online (the old one) did it. Only cards pulled from boosters bought with real money can be traded. But, also, having in-place tournaments every hour or so, with 8 - 16 players that could lead to obtain boosters where cards are also tradeable. That makes p2w to keep spending without bleeding to obtain the collection, but also have f2p that are very invested competitively or somethign in the game to get use of the feature
I'll definitely be running the jigglypuff in any of my non aggro decks. I think once they include the equipment items you'll be able to cure status effects, so that will sort of balance it.
About the coin flip: Iphone got a feature called Switch Control that allows you to set up a consistent gesture. Testing showed that despite the coin behaving in a similar way each time, the actual result would vary. So the physical based coinflip is simulated and the odds are actually independent.
I just hope it's nothing like pokemon go, in the sense you have to be present in person with the person you are trading with. We also need a communication system to actually trade. My overall hope is we get a gts type system where you put in a card and request a card and that's what you get when someone happens upon the trade block and wants the same
Yeah for me the most efficient way is you putting in a box the card you trade for the card you want. And then there is a ‘market’ where people can search the cards they want and have to trade for, and get the offers. They pick one and done! Or else there will be scams, the game will have to put a system of communication and we all know how it can go.. so yeah, just trading that way for me is easier and avoid most problems. Sure it will be a lot harder to trade little cards, but still, safest option in my opinion
my idea is, trading will require points earned from battling people like if you win you get 3 point if lose 1 point. then depends on the card rarity the points required are different, that way this tcg is not about collecting but also encourage ppl to battle
Battling doesnt really make them money. Not alot anyway. You can argue that people need to build decks to battle but with auto battle you can idle a crap deck until you make the wins. Trading will be a new hourglass/gold purchase mark my words
I'm not holding out on trading being crazy: Both with the limitations and what people might be looking for. The most I can see myself benefitting from trading is just stray commons or maybe even some remaining three diamond cards that I need to complete the Kanto dex.
My worry with trading is exactly how many restrictions theyll put on it. I dont mind restricting trading to anything but current packs. I dont mind only trading equivalent rarities (sucks, but no the end of the world). I dont minds using stardust for trading (pls, dont use any other currency). I HATE the idea if having to have 2 or more to trade.
I had a feeling the cards had different pulling odds. We'll probably see this in future events as well so this is great information! Tentacruel has been my budget water Pokemon. Big healthy guy at 110 HP and does 50 damage and poisons. Also only needs one Misty heads to snowball if the situation arrives which is better than needing to hit 2 for Articuno Cool podcast, you two have nice chemistry.
26:45 flipping 5 coins for 10 is worse than flipping 1 for 50. This haunter is made to kill stuff like staryu in one hit and probably win right of the bat. Also with 1 gio it’s 60. If you get turn one and evolve you have the chance to often just win the game very early because they lost all their momentum
For future events i hope they do something like using a certain deck for certain events. And maybe even something with that pvp related as well. That be cool
I think allowing people to only trade the previous set is fair, but also limits new players being able to trade for a long time unless they pull from an older set. I'd assume they limit the amount you can trade, but even the fact they are letting us trade anything is cool in my opinion as not to many mobile games allow this even other games based on TCGs.
So I’m not entirely sure what’s happening and what can be gained from this but my 2 week free subscription ended a few days ago. I was thinking about re upping my subscription when the new set comes out however I’m rethinking now because as soon as my subscription ended I started getting massive pulls. No joke the last 5 packs I’ve opened have had massive hits, keep in mind before this streak I’ve hit my highest rarity was art rare snorlax, out of the last 5 packs I’ve pulled I have gotten a regular venasaur ex which I didn’t have, a meowth art rare duplicate, a rapidash art rare which I also didn’t have and I’m not joking I pulled mewtwo interactive rare and this morning I pulled charizard interactive rare. I don’t know if there’s any science behind this I’m 90 percent sure that it’s coincidence but since losing my free subscription I haven’t opened a pack without a hit in it. Maybe with the extra pack per day for each account pack odds are lower for subscribers? But that seems counter productive too because you would think pack odds would be higher for people paying monthly. Again I have no idea what’s been happening but just wanted to throw it out there.
I doubt they're manipulating the numbers. Just good luck for yea' lately. I'm sure there are multiple government agencies in multiple different countries that would love to find proof they're lying about their stated rates especially with how much money the game has already made, it would be a feast. All it would take is one disgruntled employee to have their pockets ran.
I dont think trading for cash will be a huge thing like in the physical TCG. Packs in pocket are only $1 each and there will not be a secondary market for older set packs where packs are $400+ each so cards wont have a ton of cash value. Like in the regular TCG, the real joy in collecting is in the opening of the packs and the suspense building up as you go through each card hoping you get that chase. Overall I don't think there will be much restriction on trading, I feel like they will have a hidden value assigned to cards based on rarity and trades will require value for value. So you could trade 4 1 diamond cards for a 4 diamond card. or 3 1 star for a 3 star etc.
ive been playing a golem dugtrio brock deck the last few days and it SLAPS mewto and pika ex most of the time! its not bad you have a clean curve if everything goes right and you get the diglet in the active spot and you can oneshot mewtwo on turn 4. even with anot clean curve geodude is a solid first active with 70 hp and with x speed ur only one turn behind curve when you switch in dugtrio
Great topics a lot of ppl are curious! Most say it’ll be below 1 star available for trading at first.. that doesn’t make sense to me lol who is going to trade for the commons that everyone has already ya know haha. I think it’ll be successful if it was just the rare cards at first n then ppl can still pay money n rip packs n get the commons so that way trading is successful and they still make money. I do hope it can be traded for anything though but great points, i think ebay could be huge 👀🔥
i honestly dont mind if we cant trade high rarity since the game is not like yugioh were you need high rarity cards for it to function at all (look at the anti meta decks only needing cards like golbat lmao), if you cant trade the top rarity cards but you can the lower rarity ex or something like that is gonna be fine even if they put a time limit on those rarities for trade, im honestly more interested in getting the small rarity cards from some decks like all the supports or some mid evolutions that are in packs im not even aiming for, for the low spenders or f2p supports and those low rarity cards will make a huge difference on deck building, for the big spenders trading is not really gonna do much, i hope they put more PVE events that are way longer, imagine they put some kind of pokemon league or something, i do hope the game is not purely PVP since the gameboy color TCG game was pretty peak, flairs should not cost card copies, theres literally no point on that dust at all if you need to pull anyway, is already a whale activity, making flairs consume onyl dust would make people actually farm it to customize their cards, heck they could even sell it if they want lol, the game is doing more money than all their other games combined so the money argument doesnt work at all, they are making like 3m a day.
Glad you mentioned the GB game. The RP aspect would be much appreciated like a story mode or something for content to keep being added with a difficulty setting
8:36 this is basically how it is with physical cards tho.. yes opening packs is fun but realistically you can just buy the card you are looking for and save money instead of constantly opening packs hunting for certain cards
Its less realistic tho. In teal life its 10 to 50 or more and fkuctuates. In pocket its a set amount. You open packs until you get the card or stardust to just craft it.
With regards to the Lapras: NO I did not get 2. I got 13 clefairy, 9 butterfree, 7 pikachu, I think 10+ mankeys (traded some for flair)... and only 1 Lapras... So that 12.6% number seemed like BS to me 😭
I got 6 Lapris (was 7 but I flaired once), 5 Pikachu, 7 Mankey (10 before I flaired), 3 Butterfree (5 b4 flair) and 5 clefairy (13 b4 flair)... I'm hoping the trade system will be more of equal value other than a complete special card limit... Cuz these Lapris will come in handy and yes I put in work spamming the expert level...
I've got a gold charizard and mewtwo and I'd instantly trade them to get the full arts for decks I actually use and want to play with. Hopefully they don't lock those from trading
everything Pokemon does is about making money! You have to understand that, they hate f2p, and just like with their games they are masters in delivering a product with minimal effort for maximum profit. Look how they treated the players in GO for example, they raised the prices for the remote raid passes to the moon. Games dead for me, no fun, too expensive. Now let's focus on TCG pocket, if you're an old TCG live player you'll remember the marketplace at some point where you were able to trade cards for booster packs, other cards etc. It was a super cool and fun concept which worked like a charm in the game. Well, they removed the marketplace and guess what, the game wasn't fun anymore. For me, it's a huge motivation booster to win tournaments, colect rare booster in game and be able to trade those for cards you need. Please, don't get your hopes up, TCG Pocket isn't any different of a game and they will limit the trading function to the most boring, common cards we all have in our collections already.
I think the trading in this game will have you trade a card that has the same rarity as the one you wants to get. So if you wanna get lets say a charizard ex, you need to trade one of your ex cards to get that pokemon
The issue with trading without limits in Pocket is that any degenerate can create several alt accounts, each getting 2 free packs a day. They are bound to get the cards they want, and just trade them to their main account. This could theoretically be scaled up as large as one has the resources to do so. There will definitely be some form of trading currency, if not the shinedust already. This is the drawback of Digital TCG. It can be exploited, and thus these annoying limitations are required to keep the game somewhat healthy. They likely will implement trading restrictions being a traded card cannot be traded again.
Maybe trading in close proximity takes less currency so individuals can trade more. Idk though PoGo turned me off of proximity trading by the way they handle it. Tons of lucky friends that I’ll never be able to trade with
Another problem im seeing is the account botters/sellers out there. You can literally jusf pay 30-50 dollars to get an account with a crown card and almost the entire collection of apex genesis. Im thinking this implementation in trading is to counteract that black market. Cause im sure they are aware of it rn
Well get ready for a lot of angry players because id bet the farm that you wont be able to trade cards from whatever tbe current set is. Just the fact that trading isnt being implemented until January, when the new full set is suppose to releaase, really hints at this restriction. Imo thats fair. Also, like you mentioned in the vid, therell be other restrictions to stop players from making alts in order to funnel cards into their main account. My guess is youll be limited in the # of trades you can make (maybe an hourglass system similar to wonder picks where it costs 1 for 1 and 2 diamond cards, 2 for 3 diamond and 3 hourglasses for 4 diamond cards). Also youll most definitely need to own multiple copies of a card (my guess at least 3) before you can trade it and youll only be able to trade 1 through 4 diamond rarity cards as the 1, 2 and 3 star as well as the crown rares will remain whale bait. Imo this is all fine because itll still allow f2p players to get a complete base set which is what you need to build all the decks and stay competitive.
That's RNG...1 out of 5 chance. It doesn't keep track on what you pull and then gives you what you need. You can get skunked on the card you need. You're not the only one going thru it.
8:00 reminded me of old gacha games caleed blood brothers lol. They have similar feature called bazaar that worked exactly as u describes here. Unit for unit, or even unit for gacha currency, heck they even allowed premium currency back then iirc. Its like feature that very rarely implemented in gacha game ever lol. Also they prob will implement more restriction ao u cant trade with reroll accounts.
I think that along with a marketplace they also need to have a NPC shop. You should be able to trade in your crap duplicates for hourglasses. In terms of player to player trading it should 100% be a barter system where you put up a card in exchange for one or more cards or you could put up one or more cards as a buy offer for something you want. They definitely do not need to introduce another currency and the items should not be traded in any kind of currency at all including existing ones because that is what truly facilitates rwt. If there was a currency involved people would begin trading the currency on a Black market online.
Like in other online games for example RuneScape there are NPC shops which set a bottom line for certain prices for certain cards which protects from inflation
Something that this game desperately needs along with trading is a draft pick game mode. There should be a game mode where both players get to open 10 packs of their choosing and then create a deck from only those cards and then after the match the cards are deleted. The majority of players that I see complaining about this game say oh no I've run out of free-to-play packs to open or all of the meta decks have gotten stale and I've collected everything. With a booster pack draft game mode like this it would be fresh every time and you would get that dopamine hit of opening up 10 packs without inflating the economy.
If I can trade a level 100 Arceus for a lvl 2 Caterpie in the main games than the same should be true in pocket. Anything less is a scam. Yes. True freedom is the ability to make uneven trades.
That's a real game these are mobile games with a pay wall. They're going to make more handheld games these mobile games are going to jeep going so they don't want you to have everything.
Trading will be terrible . The devs arent going to give millions of dollars away. Free trade would result in players no longer buying boosters to complete their collection. They will either make it time locked. Like one trade a week. Or they will add another currency to use to be able to trade. Or both like they do with hourglass purchases with an option to use gold to speed it up so you can make a trade.
I hate to say it but unless they change quite a few mechanics, I don’t see this game retaining the huge audience it has accumulated. But as long as they have a good group of whales, the player count matters not.
I got a hidden ability Pokémon that I needed one time it could have been gen technically *can't* tell unless I could check. A wonder trade (card) would be no issues though. I might of did a real trade I'm not 100% sure. :/ an event might of happen before I just got the hidden ability, they flood the wonder trade normally.
power creep in this game would be so bad :( iv heard other people say that its possible that they make different game modes for the sets and that other games have done this before. like hearthstone shifts which sets are allowed in the format, and there are different game modes to allow you to play older sets. I really hope this is the path pocket goes down.
The double gold bundle thing from Snap is definitely a load of BS. That's standard for every Hoyoverse game and they even refresh the double bundles (typically after major patches)
I just started this game and I want that special art mewtwo so I only open mewtwo packs. I just opened my third normal mewtwo to go alongside the three ex mewtwos I have. I do not have that special art one yet. I am ANGRY.
Collecting cards is fun but the gameplay is pretty terrible. I just log in and claim stuff and then quickly log off. For the event I did some auto battles and that's about it. Coming from snap feels like they are miles ahead in terms of gameplay then Pokemon.
I actually enjoy the Pokemon pocket gameplay! It did feel more simplified than snap in the beginning but the more i play the more depth i discover. And i love experimenting with different pokemon too! I think battle gameplay will improve a lot as we get more and more cards!
I get a strong feeling that trading is going to be a shit show. I just hope that I can trade away some of my excess copies of EXes for EXes I don't have but want. Other than that, I don't care about full-art cards very much. Certainly not enough to trade away mechanically useful cards for shiny objects.
I thought I had good luck and saved on my main. It has no full arts but had a semi mew2 dec. my second account on my 8 year old phone has all off the full arts side eyeing my main account
There is no real incentive to play the game really right now, you do your daily mission in literally 30 seconds of play and you get nothing the rest of the time that you play. There has to be a ranked ladder that gets you some hour glasses at the end of the week depending on how well you did. There needs to be some kind of way to grind or the game is gonna be dead soon.
Im a simple man, I just want Full Art Misty and Serena (whenever she comes out) and I want a Full on Piplup Deck. That’s all I want and I’ll be happy missing any other cards lol
I've been playing completely F2P since the soft launch and I have most of the cards. All three crown rares and immersive arts. And it's been taking me forever to find a common MUK to get mew. I have all the rares from the Mewtwo pack as well. No muk

paid 0. got 151 kanto completed. got a god pack. got the immersive zard and pika. lol the godpack stat is a lie. multiple people in my discord have gotten them including me and we see them multiple x daily on reddit.

So you could trade 4 1 diamond cards for a 4 diamond card. or 3 1 star for a 3 star etc.
ive been playing a golem dugtrio brock deck the last few days and it SLAPS mewto and pika ex most of the time! its not bad you have a clean curve if everything goes right and you get the diglet in the active spot and you can oneshot mewtwo on turn 4. even with anot clean curve geodude is a solid first active with 70 hp and with x speed ur only one turn behind curve when you switch in dugtrio
even if you have bad luck with the flips you can still sac the dugtrio or 2 and go into golem or maybe even a second golem after a while
Great topics a lot of ppl are curious!
I just hope to trade with anyone not just friends, like a GTS system but for trading I don’t care about restrictions
With regards to the Lapras: NO I did not get 2. I got 13 clefairy, 9 butterfree, 7 pikachu, I think 10+ mankeys (traded some for flair)... and only 1 Lapras... So that 12.6% number seemed like BS to me 😭
Like 1 Lapras in 40ish packs ...
That’s rng for you :( very unlucky
Same here. 1 Lapras. Why didn't they let us buy event hourglass with tickets
I got 3 Lapras in 26 packs
Hi Nina, it's me, Mr. Popular. And yes, I do think Trading is gonna be probably pretty useless xD
Haha hello again 👋
@@PokéNinaa hi ^-^ love the podcast, i also watch Dellroth
I just want to fill the dex a lot of people would want to use the trading for that or to make a deck
Hopes it is 1vs1 base 1vs1 stage 1 and 1vs1 stage 2. Ex vs Ex. If you need to have 3 card to trade. They could just do a trade shop
My prediction, u can only trade from genetic apex, just one card per day, 3 diamonds or less rarity, account needs at least 2 weeks of age
Imo this is all fine because itll still allow f2p players to get a complete base set which is what you need to build all the decks and stay competitive.
the promo card % kind of a "lie", one of my account open 30, not single one lapras ex, but ive got 11 butterfree 😢
That's RNG...1 out of 5 chance. It doesn't keep track on what you pull and then gives you what you need. You can get skunked on the card you need. You're not the only one going thru it.
@@kantonative9172it’s not 1 out of 5, the odds are 12.66% for a lapras ex.
@@kantonative9172 they made over 100 milion dollars for pixels. Real games actually cost more resources
Actually I need some basic and uncommon I wished they had this basic trading already and I’m happy 😂😂😂
I got a God Pack at 60 packs😮 Free to Play too
I hate to say it but unless they change quite a few mechanics, I don’t see this game retaining the huge audience it has accumulated.
I am ANGRY.
The only illustration rare i don’t have is Nidoking
GUARANTEED we will be forced into a paid service to "trade" and even then it will be super selective and limited. (If we even get it at all)
I will be happy with even value trading
Collecting cards is fun but the gameplay is pretty terrible. I just log in and claim stuff and then quickly log off. For the event I did some auto battles and that's about it. Coming from snap feels like they are miles ahead in terms of gameplay then Pokemon.
I actually enjoy the Pokemon pocket gameplay! It did feel more simplified than snap in the beginning but the more i play the more depth i discover. And i love experimenting with different pokemon too! I think battle gameplay will improve a lot as we get more and more cards!
I hope I can trade EX easily because I am at a surplus... wth am I going to do with 9 Zapdos EX and 5 Marowak EX 😅
Trade is going to be fun for the free to play players.
I hope so! I can’t wait for it to come out!
I get a strong feeling that trading is going to be a shit show. I just hope that I can trade away some of my excess copies of EXes for EXes I don't have but want. Other than that, I don't care about full-art cards very much. Certainly not enough to trade away mechanically useful cards for shiny objects.
Today I got 11 heads in a roll on a misty card.
Time to buy a lottery ticket!
I got a god pack after spending my first $50... it wasn't that good of a god pack and gave me duplicates of the ones I already had
I thought I had good luck and saved on my main. It has no full arts but had a semi mew2 dec. my second account on my 8 year old phone has all off the full arts side eyeing my main account
I feel like some accounts are just luckier than others!
can you talk about parasect
There is no real incentive to play the game really right now, you do your daily mission in literally 30 seconds of play and you get nothing the rest of the time that you play. There has to be a ranked ladder that gets you some hour glasses at the end of the week depending on how well you did. There needs to be some kind of way to grind or the game is gonna be dead soon.
Hola my fellow Pokémon trainers
please no more currencies introduced for trading. The game will be nicknamed Pokemon TCGP (The currency game pocket)
i have got 2x God packs :O
I got 2 god packs before hitting 300 cards lol
First comment? I made it mom
Im a simple man, I just want Full Art Misty and Serena (whenever she comes out) and I want a Full on Piplup Deck. That’s all I want and I’ll be happy missing any other cards lol
Full art misty and serenea already exist..
I've been playing completely F2P since the soft launch and I have most of the cards. All three crown rares and immersive arts. And it's been taking me forever to find a common MUK to get mew. I have all the rares from the Mewtwo pack as well. No muk
@@PalletTownJola don’t worry, muk sucks anyway 🤣
Nina is such a baddie! ❤ So freaking beautiful 😍
Maybe try to impress her by complementing not only her visual beauty buddy, like every other rando simp under the sun haha~ 😅
Like brother 😂 Trust me, she is getting these "your beautiful" comments all the time. 💯
Attractive people are used to that and it's probably annoying at some point even for them LMAO 🤣💦
If you want to get a genuine reaction out of her then maybe, compliment her uploads content on youtube and her passion thoughts about the tcg game overall yea plus she is seems smart too 😌
But yea I just thought i write this enlightened essay real quick ✌️
never heard of pocket tcg pocket lol
Are you going to give it a try?
i have every card. and i take pride in it. even all the supporters.
I'm happy for you
Do you have all the full art cards too? 👀
How much did that cost ya
paid 0. got 151 kanto completed. got a god pack. got the immersive zard and pika. lol the godpack stat is a lie. multiple people in my discord have gotten them including me and we see them multiple x daily on reddit.
Damn. And here i am with 0 god packs after spending a small fortune.
Well if you count how many players are opening packs daily in this game, then that might seem like a lie
