There's money there no doubt. One high grade can swing value immensely, but all that takes additional expense and vetting the cards worth grading. I'd say the collection is probably worth around 25-30k, 12-15k short sell, but if you took the time to grade vintage $100+ mints or better you could squeeze 35-45k out of everything

It’s weird how a lot of these people who find their massive old collections let them go to millionaire streamers and TH-camrs who have multi million dollar collections for pennies on the dollar. Rather than someone who would pay closer to the value that would actually enjoy and display it, now they’ll be categorically filed away and never seen.

not even selling to people that would enjoy it. They could sell this stuff to a smaller seller at a con or something and likely get at least 65% of the total value. If I was in the market to buy collections I would of bought all of that for 70% and that gives me 30-50% return on my investment. Since some stuff could be sold for higher than market depending on condition etc...

Love the stories behind him playing at the bookstore and in the league. Id imagine this would be hard for him to sell as it seems a good chunk of his life for a few years was Pokémon. Hopefully he kept the checklist he was making with his mom as that is priceless.

18:20 My mom brought two of these for me from a trip to Germany. The city one and the forest one. I added more mini pokemons to them by buying pokemon lollipops (there was a pokemon figure at the top of the stick, under the hard candy) and my dad cut them off for me so I could play with them. I still have those here at my very own house in my work room where I keep my collection. This video brought so many memories from my childhood as well. I think I am about to open the box of my pokemon items right after watching this. Anyone else here in their 30's and still valuing these memories?

Amazing collection, those are great Pokémon items, I have a lot of those items when Pokémon started. I try to buy everything, but at some time, I have to be selective because there are too many things haha

@leonhart the coins at 16:00 were not for flipping they were a spinning top game. You would spin two at the same time and when they both stopped you looked at the icon or damage number touching each other and that's how you "battled".

You are taking advantage of him if you value this at $10,000! At least give him a somewhat actually close valuation of his collection before ripping him off

Amazing video! I am super happy he found his collection. As a kid we moved a few times so all of my stuff got lost some how. I've seen many people with big childhood collections which their parents kept in their house attics etc. while their kids got older and went off to college etc. Then they refind their childhood memories intact especially after those parents never moved homes. So cool! lol.. I wish it were the same for me =] But till this day, Pokemon is still in my household hahaha.

Lucky. I traded some mechanical pencils, pens, and erasers for digimon figures, then traded those for a machop card and a ponyta. Then i traded other stuff for more cards and had ro keep trading. I wish i grew up a bit more wealthier.

It’s something about this dude Leonhart that rubs me the wrong way. And if he got this collection for 10k he literally robbed this dude.
