- Rio Claro is a mid-size place in the region of Mayaro in Trinidad and Tobago.A population of approximately 35,650 people, its one of the largest towns in Trinidad and Tobago

Lined with coconut palm trees and adorned with glistening sand, the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean rests on approximately 15 miles of pristine shoreline known as Manzanilla Beach.

Nice work Alan. As a born and bred Mayaro man and with Pharmacy in Rio Claro, i can add to the video.
Caitlin (where you bought doubles) is an intelligent bright future scientist.
When you reach the sign that says Dades Road, you can keep going straight (not go thru Dades Road) and you will reach Rio Claro. If you did you would have reached the Cunapo Southern Main Rd Junction, which is a road that takes you to Sangre Grande through Navet, Biche then through a majestic forest onto Sangre Grande (an hour long trip from the junction).
Another point is that the entire stretch from Guaya to manzanilla are nesting spots for Leather Back turtles. There are so much sometimes they almost go onto the road.

very good info Dinesh! Keep straight at Dades would have also been the faster route to the Rio Claro Junction. You can also access that Tabaquite Road via the Bypass just before the Brian Lara Stadium - williamsville, sister road, brothers road to tabaquite road - the fastest route from west to east

Growing up in a small village call Plum Mitan we as kids use to go to the Manzanilla beach an our youth group would spend the day picking up garbage along the shore line please people keep it clean an appreciate your natural environment.. great vlog and respect for always bringing awareness to the people about littering

That drive back in the day when I was a youth with my parents going to Rio Claro and Mayaro to visit family every so often. I always enjoyed country drive. Those days were golden. Nice vid Alan...👍👍

That part of the beach look scary, I will bade in the sand😝🏊♀️🚣♀️. In my childhood days in Mayaro, so many people drowned…I remember very well!

Alan, you doing such a fine job...you have me missin' Trini real time. freshwater Yankee here, mention my extensive time in Toco an many places. you're on fire with your sense of humor and how you present things, how did you know I was looking for parts to an Audi ??!!!! one thing I miss about Trinidad the most is the vernacular in the way everyone speaks and how they present real life in vocabulary.... kind of like doubles of everything and slight 💪🏼💥🤙🏼

I usually pass through the Princess Town area to get to Rio and Manzanilla but that route you took is new to me and very scenic and beautiful.Thank you for all your effort of finding these different places.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hey bro … so I live just after the cemetery in Rio Claro where you made the random stop .. lol anyways that area is called clear water and yes it’s deep countryside and really quiet place to live … I actually make that drive every day from Rio to Port of Spain to go to work..I actually leave home at 3:30 AM everyday but the drive is very relaxing and the scenery is beautiful

Where the river empties into the Atlantic Ocean via the Manzanilla Road is actually the mouth of the Nariva River. The long Bridge that you drove past after was the Nariva River that winds it's way, emptying into the Ocean.

My route exactly when i have to go Chaguanas. Mayaro/Manzanilla is really beautiful🏝, we are very fortunate to be living close to the beach🏖.

I use the Valencia red strictly coming from Diego Martin and maraville when I used to head out and set up in Toco, Melrose beautiful and I know the road you take on the southern journey thanks for showing it I never personally made that trip

Nice video, couple things though. When you went through Dades Trace to Rio Claro. That is one of a number of roads which join both routes (Guaracara Tabaquite Road and the Naparima Mayaro Road). The Naparima Mayaro Road starts in Mon Repos at the roundabout and ends at Mayaro junction. Mile End is one of many villages along that road. New Grant, George Village, Mafeking and Bristol are a few others.

That Naparima - Mayaro Road really is amazing to drive, just need a bit of repairs, especially with all the landslips
Yes the roads were rough but the drive was absolutely beautiful
Oh yeah and you could have make mention of the first water park the country or the caribbean had. Harry’s Water Park. Although it is literally a roller coaster to get to it and from the outside it looks iffy, it truly is a fun place that has top class rides
I hope to actually go and visit the place one day for sure !

East coast, one of my fav places. I hope the swamp is not being destroyed. I am surprised to see all those agric land development within that area. While agric is critcal for our survival, so is our environment.

There is a hill in Flanigan Town and on that hill to get see Port of Spain from there. Try it

You definitely took the longest route, there's a much shorter drive if coming from the West but equally scenic and with slightly better roads
