It was an honor to work together with you on this collaboration! You are a such a wonderful person and talented crafter! I sure hope that all of my viewers come over to check you out. I know they will be so happy that they did! By the way, I adore that book page ornament!!!
I am a faithful viewer to both of your channels, so I was thrilled to see you collaborating together today!😁. You both are so very inventive, talented and creative and I love the repurposing aspect to your crafting! I loved the scrabble tags and the book pages ornament so much! Thanks for sharing!
This was one of my favorite of all your tutorials! They were achievable for most of us who have a limited pile of things to repurpose and/or upscale. Thanks for the ideas
Diedra, I have always thought that you and Sherry should make a video together. For over a year I have thought that you both remind me of eachother. Since past summer I knew who you were and I knew I wanted to remark to you about something you had made on your video but I accidently called you Sherry and you had corrected me in your reply. I have a friend name Joyce that I have had for years and she makes jewerky out of old watch parts and she saves all her broken china cups to make tons of diff crafts with them. Her craft name for her sales is Reinvented Elegance. I saw her yesterday at a huge 300 tents venue in Alexandria, VA in a tiny one block town called Del Ray. She makes so much out of items others would throw out and her crafts just amaze me. These DYIs that you and Sherry made for Christmas are outstanding! When you first were making your honeycomb ornament I thought you were making a snowman. This afternoon when I woke up from my nap I was moving boxes around (I recently moved) looking for a box of my craft books because I have a scroll saw book with awesome Christmas patterns in it. While laying in bed today I had a brain storm in something to make using the tissue box cardboard and I have a perfect tree pattern in my book. Then tonight I watched your video where you have the same exact size of Christmas tree I had in my mind. This video Collab has spurred me on to come home and get going on finishing my living room and making more room in my kitchen which in every place has always been Craft Central. I even have a sign I hang in my former homes at Christmas time in my kitchen as I make tons of crafts every Christmas. I did not think I would have the spirit in me to create this year since my Mom passed away but the itch to unpack quicker and find supplies and creat is coming back. My Mom would want me to create too as she knows it has always given me great joy. I love everything you both make all thru the year Blessings, Rebekah
Aww Rebekah, this message is so nice. Thank you for sharing all those wonderful things - I am sure your Mom would want you to be in the spirit to create, and I am glad I could be a small part of that process. Happy Holidays!
It just goes to show you that you can make beautiful ornaments from junk! I made clothespin snowflake ornaments several years ago and I hang them from my mantel. You both are very talented!
Deidre I absolutely love every single one of these ornaments the ornament with the book pages I think was my favorite so excited for you and Sherry to be collaborating you are two of my favorites thank you for all the great ideas and inspiration God bless
Reminds me of my Mom who said she made ornaments from canning jar rings and clothespins for her first tree as a new bride with my Dad during the Depression era. The small pine tree came from the woods behind their home. I love your ornaments you did a wonderful job of recycling which I can use to make with the grandkids. Thank you for your ideas.
Oh my goodness sherry said it perfectly! You ARE an amazing, patient teacher! I’ve learned so much from you thank you for being so patient with us and always have that smile!
I am a Canterbury Cottage JUNKIE...I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching Sherry...and my other favorite, Theresa, of Our Greene Acres...Miss Diedre, you are now right up there with them....how did I not find your channel sooner??! Either way...I am so happy I did! These projects are just amazing! I cant wait to start bingiing your videos as I get my home decorated for the holiday season! Such WONDERUL IDEAS...truly original and make use of otherwise overlooked treasures! Thank you so much for sharing these with us, I look so forward to your future vidoes! Thank you to Miss Sherry too for recommending your amazing channel! Love and hugs from big ole Lake Charles, LA!!!
My favorite hands-down was the book-pages ornament. My husband played the piano/organ at church for over 50 years, so you can imagine how much of his piano music I have of his. I'm always looking for meaningful ways to use those precious memories. Each of our 5 children and each of their children will receive one of these creations out of their Dad's/Grandfather's music history. I may add a bit of glitter to the edges, because for me...glitter makes everything better (plus my kids all hate it! lol) Also, even a new book from the $1.25-tree store would work.
Hi. I came over from Sherry's channel. It is really surprising isn't it what we can create with a lot of things we already have in our home. You did some lovely and easy ornaments. Best of all, really budget friendly!! Great little gift ideas!!
Oh my gosh! This was such a surprise! Love that the two of you have collaborated for Christmas ornaments!! Loved all of them, so I cannot pick a favorite!! This was so much fun to watch!!
Between you & Sherry I am just thrilled to get started doing ornaments from things from home. My Grandkids always make gifts for their parents. Thanks so much
I enjoyed the Canterbury Cottage video on the “junk stuff” Christmas decorations. I’m just starting on this one. I love the first decoration, and I had a thought for the backside of it. That plain black circle seem to be begging for a simple white scene either cut out or stenciled. I could see a church in the snow or something like that. Tree branches with a bird….sleigh with horses etc.
Diedre... thank you so much for your ideas, inspiration, and tutorials for these wonderful old-fashioned ornaments... they remind me so much of my childhood Christmases when we would go into the woods and cut the best of small pine trees and brought home to decorate with everything we had made... the only thing that was not made by us was the Christmas icicles... thank you for inspiring us throughout the year with all your upcycling inspirational ideas and tutorials...
Hi Deidre. As I told Sherry, what a wonderful surprise that you and Sherry did a collaboration! Love your channel and love Sherry’s channel too. As always, all of your ideas are so ingenious! Thanks once again for the inspiration!
I love your video. Every crafter should have things around that others call junk. Your shutter / scrabble letters ornaments are so sweet, so is the jar lid with the hand made fringe. I also like the colsepin/snowflake. It is beautiful with the green glitter. Your projects are all do sweet that I can't choose a faviorite this time. Almost all of my ornaments are handmade. I had so much fun making them and they turned out so nice
Thank you for the great project inspirations! I came here from Sherry's video. I am a long-time subscriber to her channel, and now I am subscribed to yours, too. I can't believe that I haven't come across your content until now!
I enjoyed these that you shared today. I LOVE BOTH OF YOUR CHANNELS. What a great collab! I hope you both work together again and again. Super fun! Another affordable way to create the last ornaments you shared with us would be to sand the image off of DT signs and then cut them down to size for these ornaments. Love all of the inspiration you both shared on this one.
