In this video we break down the correct process to setup, get working and then shut down the Spectra Precision SP85 & SP60 Base and Rover setup using FieldGenius software.
We chose to use the SP85 as the base for these few reasons. 1: The SP85 has dual batteries which allows it to last all day without fail as opposed to the SP60 which has 1 battery 2: Setting up the SP85 to take static Observations is done easily through the click of 1 button 3: The SP60 is a lighter receiver and is more user friendly to long work days. 4: You are better off having the better receiver as the base as the rover will conform to the what the base is collecting. If the Base has less Constellations or channels being collected the Rover will bring itself down to the bases level to match.
Hi Ruby, the setup of the SP85 & SP80 are exactly the same. the only change being you would have to select SP80 from the drop down menu early on rather than SP85.
@@Jazzman200 Thanks. I thought I'm doing something wrong with the set-up because my rover cannot communicate with the my base station. 500 meters distance from base, with LOS, and radio comm is already lost.
@@rubyanniglesia4876 Ruby there could be a couple things that are causing this issue. It could be that your Antenna is either not plugged in correctly or the Antenna itself is infact broken and needs replacing. If you have a spare Antenna you could try and swap it out and see if that works to be able to identify whats happening.
Set the tribrach over your point, then attach your base unit.

why sp85 for base and not the sp60?
the solution will not be faster if the rover is faster also from the base?
