    it`s 2018 already!

    i still got it full functioning.
    works like new one.
    its my 1st phone i ever bought....actually got it as a present from my dad back in 2005 maybe!
    its still working ... using it for important business calls or emergency cases...
    i mean am using new phones too...especially those one that you have to charge them any times a day
    anyway...congrats for Nokia ! i still respect this company..it when along side with our journey in youth time.
    Thank you Nokia.. you still the best!
    PS:
    *whispers*

    It does have a headphone jack! The pins beside charging port is actually used for headphones and usb. Remember that time when all phone manufacturer have different charger, usb, and earphone heads?

    I proudly owned one in 2003. I loved Symbian Series 60 and the promise it showed. Apps were so basic and super expensive back then. What pleasant nostalgia!

    3:56 It did not support mp3 format but you could download a symbian app Music player and turned the phone into an mp3 player. I remember i used to convert mp3's to ogg vorbis format because of the file size (only had a 64MB mmc card - later expanded to 1gb) The phone was amazing though. With all the stuff you could do with it the best thing was the symbian apps - there was this site called ipmart-forum and they had a ton of cracked symbian apps and games uploaded there. Smart Movie player, Psiloc remote control, translator and all the great Gameloft games.

    Ahhh... The old and classic "soap Nokia". If you squished it hard enough it could slip off like a soap bar. Important feature for sure. :)
    All the bad jokes aside, this was actually an amazing phone at the time. It was the first phone I used to browse an actual website (though it was painfully slow) and listen to mp3 music. The thing is though, you need to install a separate mp3 program to be able to play mp3 files. I think I used UltraMP3 and coupled that with an adapter that enabled the use of headphones.
    I remember how my classmates were amazed that it was possible to play music on a phone, and even take photos, haha.

    Good you still have one working..
    I had one and I latterly used it like NOKIA with biking and all it fell off bike with speed 90 Km/h to 100 km/h and I was like oh it fell and it was scattered in parts, I stopped and reassembled it and wallah it's working. It had a headphone with 2.5 mm jack. good network coverage and awesome phone.

  • @MirceaD28
    @MirceaD28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My advice? Next time take the phone completely apart. Remove the screws that holds the PCB, remove the LCD, check the connectors for oxidation, remove the dust in the MIC housing, etc. You can find the service manual in the internet. That is how you restore a phone. Not just a surface cleanup and some case parts changed. I have notice that you changed the battery because the old one was dead. Did it cross your mind that there is a charging problem, that led to inability to charge the old one?

  • @adv_abhi
    @adv_abhi 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It can play music in mp3,ogg & wma format straight from gallery, for that you will need to install a codec file on 6600

    • @IrWantoitokun20

      abhijeet achlerkar just install winamp music player, for playing more codec music...

      or panel

    • @mjmunda-paps
      @mjmunda-paps 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well a bezel only signifies the black or the unused portion of the screen while the housing (well the name speaks for itself) represents the cover or the shell of the whole phone, aaaaaaannnddd housing is always replaceable back in the day.

    To play music you need a third party mp3 player app.
    It doesn't have an appstore but you can install apps from S60 .sis files that you store on the MMC card.
    Another cool thing is that you can install and play N-Gage games on this phone, but the controls can be a bit weird.
