I live in France🇫🇷 and i’m Portuguese 🇵🇹…so during lockdown I decided to Learn Chinese 🇨🇳 using English platforms 🇬🇧. So i ended up here gathering information ‘cause i ain’t paying to learn a language; 中文 is kinda difficult with too many Ming’s and Xing’s …but is memorizing a whole new language that proves to be difficult 😳
I usually translate Chinese sentences into my language, first time trying this, it's difficult, I should do it more. But I tried: 请再跟我们唱一首歌。 在昨天的考试我错过了一个问题。 你明天需要起得早, 所以少喝一点酒。 Thanks for the lessons, i love your channel!
A natural way of thinking about this in English that preserves the word order is "To under/over verb by one noun". e.g. "I overbought by one cup of coffee" , "I'm underdressed by one item of clothing", etc.
I love your videos, they are very clear. I wonder whether you could do one on lesser known usages of 的 such as when 的is used to create 'balance' and to make a Chinese sentence sound better. Also when it is used at the end of a sentence looking back and thinking about what you should have done. Also any other usages there are. I know you did one on 的for possession and the 是。。。的 construction, but the lesser known usages keep tripping me up and I can't find much info on them. Just a request, feel free to ignore! Thanks for your brilliant videos 😊
These two are not same colloquially. The first means (he read one book, then) he wants to read ANOTHER book. The second means (he did something probably other than reading a book), THEN he wants to read a book AFTER THAT. The second is the same as 他还想看一本书.
我不知道 如果你 have ever done 一个课 about the 用 of "把" it's 非常难 for 我 to understand the concept of 这个字. Change of position/location/situation of something you can pick up with 你的手??? Ugh, I'm confused 我吃了一个苹果 vs 我吃把了一个苹果 希望 这些 makes sense 谢谢你 老师 😊
He ate an apple too many . Ta duo chi le yi ge ping guo. What does it mean "an apple too many " You mean to say most of the part of an apple .please help me to explain this.thanks teacher
Imagine this, there are three apples on the table for three brothers, and one of them ate two. So the other two brothers said: "He ate an apple too many. He was only supposed to eat one."

謝謝您

@@ChineseGrammarSimplified thanks 👍
very interesting! thanks
In most cases you can use English grammar to speak Chinese, for example, he wants to read another book,"他想《再》看一本书"and“他想看一本书《再》” are correct
people speaking 东北 dialect do love to 倒装, and say 他想看一本书再。 But that is in no way standard Mandarin grammar.

谢谢您!i have one question though. Can I write/say: “可以写:我又想吃了一个苹果” if i want to express that i wanted to eat another apple in the past, but then didn't?
No you cannot. For thoughts and feelings, we don't add 了 to "conjugate" the verb even they happened in the past.
thank you as always!
Very helpful

many is an adjective, not an adverb. What you mean should be "He ate an apple too much".
Ta duo chile yi ge ping guo.
Plz explain this
@@beautyofthenature1009 This means he ate one more apple (than expected or others).
Thanks bro
In the end you labeled shao as (and) with no explanation. You confused my old brain.
