Sam d is strong but it is a 7 and the only 7 gage’s deck want to go for is afd to gain advantage off of the field spells. The stardust was in the equation because gage has gulb and he could sync the used up afd and bulb for stardust.

but Game 2, Sam Destroyer literally outs Cimo's entire gameplan since he doesn't have Unicorn, it's snatch steal or bust at that point because all of his removal is destruction-centered

The problem is even if he somehow make stardust from destrudo. How does that help? It is like stardust tribute itself is equal to it got removed from Cimo. Moreover Gage won’t have the special summon from AFD.

Depending on what exactly was in his hand vs what he drew game 2, he could have potentially summoned Stardust and AFD turn 1. He still probably loses the game but that possibility makes going first something closer to a defend-able option.

@@poopoo7107 Depending on his hand, he could have possibly gone into a Link and then Stardust + AFD by going down a different line. He had a Glow Up Bulb he never used, for one. But the main point is not that he 100% had that option in game 2, but that he 100% did not, and without that possibility, going first was not defensible.

Some people WERE playing Stardust during Zoo format, it negated Barrage, Drident and Diagram, it was pretty popular in the few Pendulum Magician decks that were running around. But other than that i agree that Gage played like a buffoon, but still think that cutting Stardust wasnt the right call

A few things ruined the series:
1. The pack simulator is absolute bullshit.
2. Gage refuses to adapt and change his strategy. When he was getting destroyed by Blackwings, he stuck with CED.
Personally I think a big flaw in their progression series and in fact any prog series is that usually if one party gets overwhelmingly better cards and wins several times in a row, the loser doesn't get any opportunities to even the playing field.
@@keinkanal7382 In terms of TCGWolf's Progression series is much better than Cimo's. Since the loser can rip a card of the winner.
