Hi Karl - Really useful video and first of all thank you for your and your team`s service! I am currently in Japan and moving to Australia via an internal company transfer with the TSS 482 Short term Visa. While i have been thinking that Short term visa do not have pathway to PR (aside the recent July 1,2022 change for certain people who were in AU) you mentioned around time 2:42 in the video that short term visa also has pathway to PR under certain conditions. I checked the video you suggested at that point but could not find relevant information. So is it true that TSS 482 short term visa also has a pathway to PR under certain conditions ?
Yes it is but those conditions are complex as you still need to meet the 186 TRT Stream rules which are too many to cover here. You also would need to meet those basic requirements for 482 Short Stream visa holders as well. Please book a time if you need assistance.

Yes that is true, Australian employers either, really like your work over a period of time if you are working for them in Australia or they are despararte for your skill set then can sponsor offshore applicants. Thanks for watching Nailya

I have applied for 482 (short term) and waiting for my visa. My visa application was lodged by my employer on 22 February 2022 and my medical examination was done on 8 March 2022. Neither I nor my employer have received any update since then from immigration.

yes, if your employer is your sponsor then through them it will be extended another 2 yrs. Post that there won't be extension.

Hi Karl, I am a police officer holding a BA in Applied policing and 5 years of front line occupational experience. I do not wish to go into any police work but I do wish to apply for a 482 visa in some regard but I am unsure what I would qualify for. Hi Karl, I am from China mainland and I am confused about to work in meat industries belong to medium-term stream or labour-agreement stream? In order to work in meat factories, some agencies say I need a average IELTS 5 to get this visa and others say I need every exam (speaking, writing, reading and listening) all above 5. I just have a question. I already have a sub class visa 400 and an employer then someone offered me a visa subclass 482 from another employer. Can I still get a 482 visa even I still have visa 400? I'm still in the Philippines and I haven't left the Philippines yet. I plan not to continue the first employer, because the agency charges a lot of fees.

I’ve just had a visa refused 482 visa . Nomination was approved , I provided documents to proove I had 2 years and now they say it’s 2 in the last 5 years ? Which one is correct . Aus migration law is nuts . Policy over legislation . No wonder nobody can get a visa .
