Thank you so much for the imformmitive video! Took me about two hours for the repair but must of that time was dragging out tools and putting them back up. The hardest part for me was disconnecting the D type connector. Everything on these beetles just have to be placed it tough difficult places. One thing I noticed immediately was the motor seemed to run much smoother. I believe the sensor was going out for awhile and finally was getting close to end of life and started shutting the car down when it got hot. It would cool of and run again. Problem solved! I can see doing a change out of the sensor as a routine PM every couple years or 25k miles.

@@greenie00 I’m glad everything work out great for you!
Thank you very much. This is a common problem. I replaced it twice in a year
Damn!
Can a bad crankshaft position sensor cause rough idle ? And stalling Once i step on the aceleration pedal sounds like it misfires and it stalls
It could if it sends the wrong signal.
Does the wire connector at the end of the at the end of the sensor does it supposed to have how many how many hot wires does it
It should be +5v,signal and ground.
What was the reading in ohms?
I don’t remember honestly.
