Oregon, USA. A 60- member choir and orchestra . Wish us luck!!!
When not performed and conducted with superb skill, Messa di Gloria can sound quite fragmented, due to frequent changes in key, time and tempo. This particular ensemble achieved a beautiful, coherent outcome and made the piece shine in all its beauty. Great job, Polish friends!

Sung it before in 2016, a little older now but with same enthusiasm and voice

Singing this in choir and have to say: this is an impressive performance. Clean execution and very warm, unified sound.
I have Bose headphones and the fidelity is outstanding on this recording, a real pleasure.
Great rendition! We also sung this beautiful Gloria-Puccini here in the Cathedral of Cebu, Philippines during the pipe organ's inauguration.

I won't go that far! But it is one of several orchestras in Europe that are very good. I do like Warsaw Philharmonic orchestra and choir. They are definitely excellent!
Your pride is justified, the Warsaw musical forces are outstanding and they deserve very wide recognition ─ but I think "among Europe's best" might be a little more accurate.

very professional! The singers are very disciplined, well-trained and the orchestra plays excellent. The conductor is unified with the performers, and needs minimal movements. The best sign that choir, orchestra, soloists and conductor are one.

= "And on earth peace to men of good will"
Does it imply "no peace for the other men, not of good will"?

@@ff516 I'm told that the original Greek of this text can also be translated as "and on earth peace, good will toward men." As the King James Version does, for example.

En effet, le gros du travail du chef, s'il en a vraiment l'occasion, se fait en amont, en répétition. Si c'est bien fait, il n'a pas besoin de s'exciter durant la représentation. Ca devient une question de style personnel après. T'as des chefs qui ne font presque rien en concert. Mais il faut aussi des artistes de grande qualité, et de préférence très habitués à jouer ensemble sous la direction de ce chef

To Mr.Trillo98: how on earth can you say Puccini cannot write sacred music? I sang this work in undergraduate school. It sent me directly back to church.
nothing about this music is liturgical. this is opera with an alibi sacred text.

Would you be so kind to define 'liturgical music' ?...you can't, can you ?...one would have to resort to the nature of the text and/or the place where it's being sung...being the place completely indifferent, since today you can sing secular music in 'temples', we're left with the text...which, in this case, is pretty liturgical...the melody and harmony are completely indifferent, to each composer his own way of writing, be it Palestrina or Stravinsky ...give these texts to a "Metallica rock band" and they'll come up with 'liturgical music'...one may hate it, but it will be liturgical, nevertheless...by the way, check the word 'liturgy' //-)
I adore this Puccini Mass and it's also great fun to sing! Very operatic! I also lived in Warsaw for several years and remember the very high standard of classical music there. A lovely performance altogether. Bardzo djenkuye!

But Puccini is not fit to write sacred music: the text is not harmonized with music.

You are so wrong. The text and accompanying orchestration are in perfect sync. They support each other. I have sung many sacred works besides this one: Saint Saens' Christmas Oratotio; Rossini's Stabat Mater; Handel's Messiah, Cherubini's requiem, Brahms' Ein Deutches. Requiem. I think I know whereof I speak.
